MA2K
I need chargeback protection from stripe but they require their new checkout to be implemented to the site. Upon contact they directed me to this: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/checkout I wanted to ask, is the new checkout already implemented in squarespace or do I have to implement it manually? (I am a trial user of squarespace so not sure if stores have the new checkout or not) Thanks Link to comment
SnazzyView
Unfortunately Stripe checkout is completely separate from the Squarespace checkout page. Squarespace use Stripe elements for the checkout page. I honestly can’t see Squarespace moving to Stripe checkout anytime soon it has a whole host of caveats and compromises if you want to use it. For example no checkout on your domain (only the Stripe hosted domain) and no customers accounts. If you would like to use Stripe checkout then this is something you will have to build and manage yourself. snazzyview.com Link to comment
paul2009
@MA2K Stripe have developed a better algorithm and can therefore offer chargeback protection when you are using their newer code. However, when you are using Squarespace as your checkout, this isn't something you can opt into yet. To do so requires Squarespace to implement Stripe's newer code into their checkout, and they haven't done this yet. As you'd expect, the checkout is somewhat 'locked down' to ensure payments are secure, so this isn't something you can change for yourself either. I suggest you (and others) impress upon Squarespace how important this is to you by raising a feature request through Customer Care. I've already done this. They'll document your feedback and share it with the appropriate team. About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017. I value honesty, transparency, diversity and good design ♥.
