Favicon for my website

Hello.

I would like to know how to add a favicon to appear on search results. Squarespace allows us to upload our custom icons and they appear perfectly on the browser tab on the top but don't seem to show up on Google search results. Any custom CSS I should add?

The fav icon will eventually be indexed by Google and appear in search results. Have you submitted your website to Google via the Search Console? If not I would recommend doing that.

Yes I did submit it to the Search Console but I'm having a problem with  "Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt". Maybe that's why I'm unable to index my site. I can't seem to find a way to fix that. Squarespace doesn't allow us to change their default robots.txt files.

Do you recommend any methods?

Make sure that you’ve not set any of your pages to no index and that you don’t have password set on your website.

Hello, I'm having the same issue with the favicon URL. Submitted my site to search console and it is being crawled regularly which is great, but it's not picking up the favicon URL and when I try to add manually to index, it's rejected for the same reason outlined above. Was there any resolution on the robots.txt blocking favicon URLs? The message I'm getting is below:
