blog excerpt image is cut off at both ends

The blog excerpt image is cut off at both ends. How do I fix that? 

It's happening to all of the images in the excerpt. They're all the same size.

Don't use auto crop.

Done in the settings mode of gallery block. If single image try using the stretch option to fill the block.

Sorry to be dense but I still don't see it.  I see the picture icon and the pencil, neither has it.  Nor does the menu at the left?

Blog excerpt image. This is a 7.1 question I think.  Options above still work for blog image but for excerpt you have to edit the blog page, hit the gear icon upper right corner,  then choose options and the thumbnail image comes up with edit under it, choose edit  then go to crop and make sure it is set where you want it. 

Thanks Derrick.  I tried that but I can't crop the image any further.  I can't find any guidance anywhere for what specific size (width/height) for an image to fit without being cropped.
