nickwelsh
Squarespace 7.1 does not support the Developer Platform. There is no clear indication if it ever will or if 7.1 will replace 7.0, killing off the Developer Platform. Is there any information besides the About Squarespace version 7.1 support article? XaQQhcQtEhfdzDvpDdQb
I agree, it's kind of concerning that Squarespace hasn't shared more information about this. Developer mode is a very large part of the ecosystem. Link to comment
anthoneycarter
Agreed x2. I'm really enjoying the new 7.1 functionality, specifically the ability to set color "themes" for each section, but the removal of the Developer Mode is a huge issue. Based on the "doesn't currently support" language, I'm hoping that they're still working out the kinks for how that pulls down. Link to comment
Graemetg
This page, last updated on 20 November, is still saying the same - https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027708412-About-Squarespace-version-7-1#unsupported-features Are there any updates on this? Link to comment
hrfrederiksen
I'll just add my voice to this thread - I just started developing a new product for a client - and they're asking me what the future holds for the platform - is it “future proof”? They're sinking a lot of money into this, and I don't want to sell them on a platform that might be switched off in the near future - there is no clear migration path for a 7.0 custom-built site to a 7.1 solution - and no guarantees that it will be a viable platform in the future. Can someone from Squarespace please respond to this? Link to comment
