Images in Order Emails

Recommended Posts

Has anyone managed to put an image into a customer Order Email? I tried to do it using the standard HTML <img src="url.to.image/anImage.png"> tag. The image showed up in the preview correctly, but was not included in the test email generated by SquareSpace.

I'm guessing that although the email engine that uses the HTML/JSON in the message field of the Order Email composition page (in my case at Home -> Commerce -> Customer Notifications -> Order Emails -> Order Fulfilled) to generate customer email understands the <img > HTML tag, and can use it to create the part of the web page that is supposed to be a preview of the email to be sent, the engine does not know how to actually attach an image to the email it generates

The Preview user interface was rather misleading because it did not accurately depict the email that was to be sent.

It should work.

Squarespace don't offer support for this because they consider it custom code, but they do explain that it is possible in this support article and they direct you to this post (shortly to become this post) for a guide.
