johntanner1989 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Is there any way to remove the Youtube title etc on a homepage autoplay video block ? It only lasts 3 seconds but seeing the title and the avatar of the youtube account looks very unprofessional. Surely there must be a way to remove it? Many thanks,J
paul2009 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 This is a YouTube feature that isn't controlled by Squarespace and can't be disabled. The solution is to use a paid plan on another supported video service like Vimeo or Wistia. johntanner1989 Posted September 7, 2019 Author Posted September 7, 2019 Thank you @Paul2009 Why can't squarespace offer an alternative - I'm sure they could if they wanted to.

paul2009 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Do you mean why don’t they offer their own video hosting? Other services offer a great service with high streaming quality, upload ease, and video playback control and it is unlikely that Squarespace could offer a similar service for a lower price point. That’s why they recommend one of the paid plans on other supported services. YouTube is great for vlogging but not really suitable for background videos. If your video is short, another option is to upload an MP4 video directly to Squarespace but you’ll need code to be able to use this as your background video.
