How do you make a colored background reach behind an image in the Bedford Template?

Very simple idea, and it should be easy to implement...

Or so I thought, upon further investigation I cannot find anyone anywhere with this same problem.

I am attaching an image of what I am trying to reproduce, anyone with a knowledge of CSS can see that it is not a normal way of styling things... Yet it is normally possible, something like this should be possible in Squarespace right?

Please; even an idea could help me out. This has really got me stuck.Thanks in advance.

Ok. What kind of custom CSS could do this, when I increase the block via the right margin, it pushes the image away, i need to make it reach out without moving the image. How would I do that?

You meant the squarespace site URL, not the one I am trying to reproduce.Here is the page with the background I am trying to stretch out behind an image.@tuanphan If you could show me how to do this with custom css, that would help me out a lot.
