Images not appearing in Google Image searches

Hello,

I've encountered a problem where none of my images are coming up in google searches. I have a portfolio style website, with a few pages of lots of images, yet none of them appear when searched for.

The only images from my site that appear in searches are my logo and an image I've used on the contact page. I recently set up a shop with Shopify which is linked to my website, and all of the images from the shop appear in searches, so it's bizarre that none of the main website images do.

I've gone through all of the SEO checklists, indexed the site via Google and added descriptions and tags to each image, yet none of them are showing up.

I'm using the Wexley template, although I'm not sure if that effects anything? I asked Squarespace online chat for some insight into why it might be happening but they just sent links to articles I've already read.

Anyone had a similar problem or has any insight as to why this might be happening? Any help would be much appreciated!

1. What google search? Are you googling the name of the business and then clicking "Images", or are you searching for the descriptions/tags? OR are you literally doing an image search?
2. Do you have a link to your website?

1. So I tried a few different ways of searching. My website comes up in the main Google search when I type in my name so that's fine. But my website is essentially a portfolio site of loads of images, and none of them come up in the Google Image search. I tried being really descriptive and searched my name and the title of the image and nothing will show up. I've also tried dragging in the actual image to the search but it still doesn't come up, On my website the images are displayed using Gallery Pages. The only images that do show up in searches are my logo and the image on my contact page which was put in with a Gallery Block.

Thanks for your help! I've tried contacting SS customer care but they just say SEO problems aren't supported. But I feel like it's a problem with the structure of how the images and their information are stored within the website that is causing them to be invisible in searches - but I'm no expert!

Also wondering why none of my images show up in google searches when I search my company name. I name all the files with the prefix of my business name to try and assist the images being listed if you search my business name but nothing shows from squarespace. I've also noticed that the images are not downloadable from the site. does this have something to do with the lightbox feature?
