Noam89
Is it possible for the new image added to a gallery to come up first in order and not at the end of the page? Edited August 4, 2019 by Noam89 Initial Revision JohnWood and Michele 2 Link to comment
paul2009
They will always be added at the end, but you can manually drag them to change position. About: Squarespace Circle Leader since 2017. Michele
I have the same question. As my galleries grow (e.g. nature photography), it can be very cumbersome to add images to the end of the page and drag them up to the top. Often the old and/or newly added images don't all load when editing, so it seems like bandwidth becomes an issue when having to re-order them manually. Link to comment
JohnWood
I agree. It seems there should be an option to have new images added to the top. When you have a lot of galleries that have new images added every month, that would be a real time saver! Caroline22 1 Link to comment
Michele
I just came back to this forum to start a new post on this topic if need be. I'm trying to add photos to my gallery right now and my EXISTING photos take so long to load (IF at all) that I can't even select the new photos that I've added to move them to the top, since they aren't loading! It is really unworkable and frustrating. Galleries are a huge part of my website as an amateur photographer. I can't parse them out into little separate galleries, I want my collections to be able to grow! I also don't want to resort to another photography application to organize my photos online and link to my website.... that is why I purchased a website subscription and shouldn't have to pay for another. Very frustrated right now 😞 ~Michele Link to comment
Caroline22
It's been over a year since this question was asked and I'm assuming that it's still not possible to make new gallery images automatically appear at the top. It would make my website a lot easier to handle if this were possible. How do we request this feature? Link to comment
NateSchmold
+1 to this feature. It seems odd you cant add to top or otherwise 'invert' the order so the new photos added are automatically placed at the top. Link to comment
waryofdairy
Totally agree. This is an absolute no brainer Squarespace. Anyone who knows anything about selling knows you want to showcase your new products/latest items first. This is a very simple fix and should be added as an option in the back-end so that I can have it that way, and the next person can have it the other way if they choose. It is cumbersome and slow to have to drag your images to the top every time you upload. Link to comment
theincidentalartist
Still no answer two years later? Damn. Seems like a simple fix and a no-brainer. Link to comment
aophotographz
+1 ... really need this as a photographer, when my gallery will be evolving over time! JonasHuck 1 Link to comment
JonasHuck
Yap this would make so much sense. In addition to it being super cumbersome dragging every new image to the top, I often get an error when doing so and have to reload the site. please add this feature to reverse the order of added images. douglasgibb
Really annoying, my galleries are starting to look out of date, I dont really want to spend hours dragging things around, might be easier to delete and start again, or possibly look for a website host that has a few more features. chking
I take it that there is still no solution to this issue 3 years later? Is there any custom code that can change the order of images in a gallery? Link to comment
