Text too small to read?

Recommended Posts

How is it possible that, using a template that format the text size for the whole website, there are a few pages that randomly generates Google mobile usability issue like Text too small to read?Isn't this platform, Squarespace, already optimized for mobile usability?

I tried to reach out with Squarespace customer care but was useless. It's easy just to blame Google and just saying to contact Google's customer care. Very disappointed!

It doesn't look like anyone has replied to this thread or offered solutions, but I'm having the same issue. If anyone has a solution, that would be great. I thought one benefit of using a template with Squarespace was that the templates took care of making sure fonts were consistent across my whole site, and that the template itself would work on regular computer screens and mobile devices alike.

Many search engines rank pages based on how mobile-friendly they are. Font sizes smaller than 12 px are often difficult to read on mobile devices and may require users to zoom in to display text at a comfortable reading size. Google's Lighthouse - an automated tool for improving the quality of web pages - flags pages on which 60% or more of the text has a font size smaller than 12 px.

Paul, I have the same issue, if  we manually make the font bigger than 12px,  that would be enough to solve the issue with google?  How about clickable elements being too close together? I am getting that issue on my site as well for google search console on mobile.

Thanks!

text too small, clickable elements too close  and content wider than screen seems to be an ongoing issue.

I have raised this elsewhere (SEO and marketing thread)and receive the advice that it is a google anomaly. This does not solve the problem.

Tried "reaching out" to 5 designers on the marketplace to solve this , and at the same time sort out white space on my 7.1 site....nobody is available to do it, let alone provide a quote.

Where do we go from here, I wonder?

got exactly the same problem. text too small, clickable object too close. i made bigger text and more space in between objects - test with google - google says its ok, problem solved - few weeks later, the same google-message again. how comes? i thought sqarespace is search engine optimized? and also: the text was never too small, it was very easy to read on mobile devices. check my website: www.tiefschwarz.ch
