Guest nmccamy Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 I will be using SquareSpace to display my photographs. I want my photographs displayed at one size only, the embedded size. And I want the image to display exactly the same quality (not just close) as it does when displayed in a simple program like Windows Paint. I don't want viewers to be able to zoom in or out of the photo. I want them displayed the exact same way I view them on my computer. If my photograph is 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels, and I spend time sharpening it at that size, there is only ONE correct size to display it, 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels, period. If it is displayed at any other size, it loses its sharpness. Can I be assured that SquareSpace will allow me to display my photographs with this kind of pristine quality?
Guest nmccamy Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 In other words, does Squarespace "optimize" my photographs, degrading the image quality?

paul2009 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 If images are larger than a visitors device, they must be adjusted on any web platform, otherwise they would be excessively cropped. To see how Squarespace handles your images for yourself, you can start a free trial and load some images. Me: I'm Paul, a SQSP user for >18 yrs & Circle Leader since 2017. Guest nmccamy Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 I don't care how my images are displayed on mobile devices. I only care how they are displayed on computer monitor displays. Who in their right mind is going to spend $6,000 on a photograph they viewed on a 6-inch device screen? I'll give Squarespace a trial run and update my post here. I'm quite certain it will not be up to my standards. Hopefully I'm wrong!
