Code insertion for product SEO

Hi Guys,

Can you tell me if it is possible to do a code insertion to add meta titles and meta descriptions to products?

Can you add the meta data and reference a URL or product I.D?

At the moment I'm baffled that this isn't possible on product pages.

Unfortunately @Thorpeedo you have run into one of the significant problems of doing SEO on Squarespace. I discuss this issue (it is number five) in this article of mine on Squarespace SEO problems. And no, you cannot override the meta description Squarespace provides, which is derived from the product description.

How have Squarespace not identified this is a major issue?

I would deter my clients from using Squarespace based on this fact alone.

What's the point of having a site if you can't optimise it for search? I know meta data isn't the only factor but it's a bloody big factor.

I wonder how many Squarespace sites rank at the top of Google search based on the dynamically-generated meta data that, I would argue, isn't useful.

I think Squarespace focus selling to people who want pretty looking sites and not one that functions well in all areas.
