  1. HI, I'm new to squarespace so I'm still trying to get to grips with it. At the moment my URL address reads mydomain.squarespace.com but can you please tell me how to remove the .squarespace? Will it automatically disappear when I go 'live'? Thanks.
  2. Hello, I have a large wordpress site that I am migrating to squarespace. My marketing manager is begging (pleading) with me not to do it: Because putting 301 directs on all our blog posts will hurt our traffic, and make Google have to re-search over 1,000 pages. (website.com/blog/nut-farming v. website.com/nut-farming) Question: if I move to an enterprise squarespace membership, am I able to get my developer to hard code this change, instead of using 301 directs? It would seem an impediment for established blogs to move over to what is in most other factors a great CMS. Many thanks for your thoughts and replies, Nut Farmer.
  3. Site URL: https://www.creativebloomrocks.com/ Hi, Can we create a manual pyramid URL structure by just editing the URL slugs? Eg Home Page - level 0 URL = / Category - level 1 URL = /category Sub category - level 2 URL = /category/sub-category 1 etc The index & folders dont do quite what we want in that respect. Wanted to chekc thats OK, doesnt mess with the site maps etc Thanks Stu
  4. Site URL: http://www.laforesta.co/ Hi guys, I am struggling to find out how to remove a hashtag (or even a part of the string) from the URL of pages that open behind an Index page. The similar question was asked here but never got a solution. Here's how I want it: And here's how it currently is, when you navigate to this page through the index page: Is there a way too make the URL turn simple? Thanks! Enea
  5. Site URL: http://https%3Awww.guniwheel.com Hello, I'm working in the brine family, and have banner background images added on my varies index pages. The banner background images show when I view the site as a whole, but if I enter in the direct URL slug (example: guniwheel.com/our-solution) the image doesn't show and displays a white background. Since the text in this page is also white, I can't see the text. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  6. Hi there First, I'd like to thankyou for your time in reading this. I have a problem with Squarespace where I need to upload two files (xml files) to my website, but they need to be stored under the url structure of 'https://domain.com/app/file.xml'. Currently when I upload it looks like https://domain.com/s/file.xml Squarespace support says there is no easy way around this other then developer. Can someone please advise? It is important the url goes like '.com/app/file.xml'. Thankyou 🙂
  7. Site URL: https://opticair.co.uk/ Using the Sonora template, I have my home page set up as several sections, with anchor links within a fixed position primary navigation to enable the user to quickly navigate around the page, with a tidy scrolling visual effect. This would work (and has worked) fine if this were the only page on my site, using the link format '#section-name' to take the user to 'domain.co.uk#section-name'. There are additional pages in my site, which the user can access through links within the body of the home page and on which the primary navigation is obviously still displayed. However, the primary navigation links in the format '#section-name' do not work from this page as they attempt to take the user to 'domain.co.uk/subpage#section-name' and the sections do not exist within the sub page. I addressed this by changing the primary navigation link format to '/home#section-name', which solves the problem when navigating from the sub page. However, now when using the links whilst already on the home page, the link takes the user to the correct section, but the scrolling effect does not always show. On the first click of a primary navigation link (whichever link) after loading the site, the page reloads, rather than scrolling, with the appended '/home' (from 'domain.co.uk' to 'domain.co.uk/home#section-name'), landing the user at the correct section. Upon clicking any further links, the scrolling effect shows correctly as the '/home' page is already loaded in the address bar. What I would like to achieve is that when using the primary navigation when already viewing the home page, the content always scrolls, whether it is the first click of a link or not. When clicking the link from any other page, it already correctly loads the home page at the required section; no scrolling is required here as the user is actually navigating to another page. Two possible solutions I can think of are either to force the site home page to always show its full 'domain.co.uk/home' url upon loading, rather than just 'domain.co.uk', or to make the primary navigation links dynamic so that on the home page they take the format '#section-name' but on all other pages they take the format '/home#section-name'. I do not know how to implement either of these ideas. I have also considered having the sub page content open in something like a lightbox, rather than a separate page, to avoid navigating away from the home page at all, but I expect the site to grow and this will not be suitable for all future content, so I would rather address this by other means. Can anyone help with implementing either of my suggested solutions, or does anyone have any other solutions? I have tried to be thorough but this seems like a lot of explanation for a simple issue! Hopefully there is a simple solution. Thanks in advance.
  8. Site URL: https://www.createid.com Hello all, i am looking for a fix or workaround for Blog Page's Url changing to " ?offset string added to the URL " by adding that and numbers instead of the blog title. see video https://bit.ly/39mvetw I have reached out to Squarespace Support directly but they dont have any solutions at this time. They recommend I try here. Hope someone can shed some light. thx
  9. Site URL: https://www.voragotech.com Hi all, I've run up against a frustrating problem that cannot be solved by Squarespace Support or a 301 redirect. I have an automatically generated file for a product installation that requires I have DOMAINNAME.COM/FILENAME.EXTENSION As you may know, when you upload a file directly to a Squarespace server it does 2 things: 1. it adds a "/s/" before your file name, to I guess reach the subdirectory where the file is located 2. the Custom URL Mappings tool does NOT allow you to do a redirect to a file, meaning my installation files are failing because of the added "/s/" that I can't remove. Does anyone know if it's possible to bypass this within custom code? Thanks so much, Jen
  10. I'm setting up a digital products store on my website. In the spirit of keeping my "not linked" section organized I put the two pages of my store in a folder. So because digital product variants are not possible on squarespace, I've devised a work around for this. I created a products page were all the digital products will be listed in all variants. Then created a Blog page where each "post" will be the product and hyperlinked texts as the different variants. Now the links work only when the products page is outside of the folder and don't when the product page is in the folder. Am I missing a step? the urls are structured as follows: /foldername/productpage/product-variant They work when I take the product page out of the folder, /productpage/product-variant
  11. Hello I have just finished my new podcast site on SQS. https://samtalks.technology I decided to change the blog post url to not include the date. I then updated the SEO for the blog post. However the blog post url does not match the SEO url? 1. I google the blog post. The image below shows the previous url included the date in the url slug. I decided to edit the url slug and remove the date. 2. I removed the date in the URL slug. No issue. The old url is now broken but I will wait for Google to reindex. 3. I then updated the SEO by adding to the SEO description but I noticed the URL slug was now different to the one live on the website. The url for the website is now https://samtalks.technology/podcasts/shaa-wasmund but the SEO window shows a url https://samtalks.technology/shaa-wasmund. This second url slug does not contain the sub-directory 'podcasts'. So is this SEO link displayed wrong or will people click on the link and go to a broken page?
