  1. Site URL: https://www.lakelandlights.co.uk/ Hi everyone, We have a commerce website and so far the commerce functionality has been fine for our needs. We are looking to expand our product ranges soon and as part of that one product range will be offered as a monthly subscription service to customers. We have spent some time looking into this and know that the functionality within SquareSpace is pretty limited i.e. you can offer monthly subscriptions but there's no way to edit billing cycles or similar. We would like to be able to set up subscriptions as follows for example: New subscriber signs up before a monthly cut off date (e.g. 24th) and is billed immediately and receives that month's subscription in the post straight away. Thereafter they go onto a monthly billing cycle billed on the 1st of every month and receive their monthly box 2-3 days after. Those joining after the cut off date will be billed immediately but receive next month's subscription box and go onto the monthly billing cycle in the following month. This is ideal for us as it would allow us to manage stock and inventory on a monthly basis with subscription packages being posted out on one set monthly date for the most part (2-3rd of a month). Am I definitely right in saying that SquareSpace does not offer any of this functionality right now? I assume our only option with the current functionality is to receive monthly subscribers ad hoc and post out on different dates each month depending on when they subscribed? As an extreme example, say we had 1,000 subscribers all spread equally in when they signed up over a month meaning we'd be shipping out 33 subscription products each day. This has the potential to be extremely labour intensive if subscriber numbers do grow. Especially if subscription reporting within SquareSpace is relatively limited (which we understand it is). Has anyone had any experience with this situation? We have had a look at external services such as Subbly but they are not very clear in how they'd work if we're honest. We have also looked into potentially having the entire commerce side of our website set up through Shopify, to access the functionality available through apps there, but we'd lose our SquareSpace customer accounts (of which we have many). Do you think we could offer something along the lines of: Subscriber joins between 1-14th of each month - their subscription product will be sent on the 15th Subscriber joins between 15th - end of each month - their subscription product will be sent out on last day of the month This would put things into two monthly shipments BUT our monthly box ends up going out late in a month to subscribers - e.g. our July box goes out end July and ends up being received early August. We'd appreciate any advice we can receive on this as we obviously need to choose an option and stick with as swapping over to something else later in the day won't work for existing subscribers. Many thanks James
  2. Site URL: https://es360sanitization.com/membership I am wanting to create a subscription so when a customer signs up for it they automatically get a discount on selected products for having the subscription. Currently I have to generate a discount code for that customer that they could then use to get the discounts, however the issue is if that customer shares that code online or with friends then everyone is getting this discount that only the subscriber should be getting. What I want to be able to do is if a customer is logged into their account and has an active subscription the discount is automatically applied for anything without the need for entering a discount code. Is this possible currently are are their any potential workarounds that I am not seeing?
  3. Hi, I was trying to figure out how subscriptions work vis-a-vis the number of domains I can set up and whether I have to pay the subscription for each domain name I use. Presently I have one custom domain name registered via Squarespace where I've been testing the demo web site design tools. I realize that I will not use this Squarespace-hosted custom domain name for the final web site. I have since purchased additional custom domains names from another company that I will eventually transfer to Squarespace with the final goal having all these domain names point to the same single site. The 'main' web site address will be one of these new domain names not yet registered at Squarespace. If I purchase a web site hosting subscription now (before moving the final 'main' domain name to Squarespace) do I need to purchase a new subscription for the new domain name(s)? Or can I design the site with the temporary Squarespace-hosted domain name and then later move the web site to a new domain name without having to purchase the subscription again? Thanks
  4. Opt-in for automated welcome email works perfectly if sign up comes from desktop, but Confirm your subscription from no-reply@squarespace.com upon signing up to clients opt-in leads to 404 page when you click 'confirm subscription'. This obviously inhibits potential subscribers (from mobile) to sign up to mailing list. Client website: https://www.rachelharville.com/ Any genius wholeheartedly appreciated!!!
  5. Hi! Could anyone please recommend the best integrating Gated Content / Digital Membership PlugIn? I am currently using Memberspace and feel like the integration is not as tight as I'd like. I have to turn off Customer Log In functionality in order for it to work meaning that my non-members can't log into the site which sucks. Also, I have more physical subscriptions than digital only subscriptions right now and intend to keep growing that way. Lastly, my physical subscriptions include access to a gated section of my site. I'm really just looking for a solution that integrates better with Squarespace and Shipstation as I scale. I would appreciate any other membership sites or gated portal plug ins you guys use that you love. Thank you!!
  6. Is there any way that I can reschedule order dates for multiple subscriptions at once? It's straight forward to do this for one customer at a time, but if you have thousands of customers, what is the best approach? Perhaps there is a way to do this through the API or a third party tool?
  7. Site URL: https://highlinewellness.com/collections/all-cbd-products/products/cbd-night-gummies Hey everyone! We are looking to have a single product have the purchase option for either a one-time purchase and/or subscription right on the same product display as seen on these sites (which I think are all Shopify): https://highlinewellness.com/collections/all-cbd-products/products/cbd-night-gummies https://flovitamins.com/products/flo-gummy-vitamins?variant=31931893612647 As I understand it, you either have a product that is a one-time purchase OR subscription and they have to be separate products? I am kind of at a loss as to why this can't be an option for one product, am I missing something? And if this is the case, is there a workaround or plugin? Thank you!
  8. I am building a website for a client who wants to use their PayPal Business account for all commerce. Most of their products are monthly subscriptions products; however, with Squarespace, PayPal can’t be used to pay for subscriptions. Is there a work-around to this problem? For example, is there a way to connect Square and PayPal, so when customers sign up for a monthly subscription, the money still goes into my client's PayPal account?
  9. Hey Squarespace Circle, I've e-mailed Squarespace many times but haven't gotten an answer this past year. We love our website and the functionality of it, but we are still torn with how subscriptions are run through e-commerce. We are not fans of shopify, we don't like the functionality, but 2020 may have us switch. This is what we are looking for: our subscription is a special order, so we can't ship them the minute they are ordered. As a solution for now, we will keep them in our shipping queue until it's time to ship. We only ship them monthly, because our business is in specialty coffee, so we have to make sure we order the correct amount of green coffee in order to roast for our subscribers. They get special roasts that are not offered in our daily offerings. What we would like to see in the future is the ability to change our subscribers billing date. The other thing, will subscribers show up in our stripe account under the subscription panel? A huge win for us would be if we could set a date/time for when our subscribers could get billed for their subscription (not the day they sign up). That way we wouldn't miss a subscription shipment. This is our number one priority right now. If anyone from Squarespace or the community has heard of anything like this coming soon, please let me know!
  10. Site URL: https://www.ironlionsoap.com/soapscription Sup yall! Long time lurker-finally chiming in. We are ready to move away from PayWhirl and get our Soap-Scriptions running from the SqSpc site. After reviewing both documents about the new SqSpc Subscriptions and the Migrating from PayWhirl...I am still nervous and unsure how to proceed. Here are my initial concerns: - Our current offerings will not sync with new offerings. - Current members should be "grandfathered" or upgraded to the next best plan - and/or as a courtesy, give current subscribers 3 months at "old" rate. Further more, I am at a wall with communicating these type of changes with our customers. Having them sign-up-again manually even though the subscriptions are processed on stripe seems difficult. Any advice, consultation and opinion is welcome. Thanks gang!
  11. Site URL: https://johnnysfresh.com I've just built a site for a Produce company that is selling subscriptions to a weekly produce box delivery. Essentially, you choose your town (as a variant) which will then guide what day we will deliver your box. Since it's a weekly subscription to a specific town, we'd like to put a limit on the number of boxes we can handle within that town. For exactly, we can currently handle doing about 100 deliveries within a day. We plan to scale up carefully, but we're stuck in the fact that the subscription makes the quantity unlimited. In our preliminary offering, we sold over 200 boxes to one town in less than an hour. We've moved to a model where the site is invite only to prevent the onslaught, but that makes it really hard to market with the site. We'd like to be able to capture leads from people so we know who to go back to when we're able to scale. Is there any way to limit the number of subscriptions sold for physical products by variant? I suspect I'm not alone in this challenge. Thanks in advance for any ideas! Joe
  12. Why can't I pay for my annual plan? Everything used to work fine before, and I have switched browsers and tried everything!
  13. Hi, my client needs the ability to add a one-time set up fee to a subscription. I've created a subscription and a product for the set up fee. Selecting the subscription bypasses to checkout, which leaves any other items in the cart. Is there a workaround to checkout both at the same time? Looks like Stripe itself has this ability, but might require some development work which I'd like to avoid if possible. If not, do you have a suggestion of an external service that works with Squarespace that would fulfill this requirement?
  14. Hello, I am trying to add a coffee subscription service to my shop. My option seems to be creating a separate product of each type of subscription, but this quickly becomes cluttered and unwieldy. I'd like a simple form similar to this: https://shop.squaremilecoffee.com/pages/subscriptions or this: https://www.deargreencoffee.com/collections/subscriptions Is possible to recreate this directly in squarespace or would this require a plug in or coding? Any help will be gratefully received! Thanks, Eion
  15. Hello Squarespace Community! I'm working on a site for a client who needs to be able to accept 2 payments from her customers - an initial deposit up front and then a final payment 4 months later. I'm wondering if anyone may have any ideas for how I can update the pricing text that displays to the customer? The default text is: "from 1,085.00 every 4 months for 8 months" which I find a bit confusing for her purposes. Ideally, I'd like to change the Subscription Pricing Text to the following: "2 payments of $xx. Your final payment will be charged 4 months from now." Would be so grateful for any support or suggestions you may have for me! - Erin
  16. Hi guys! I have a question regarding the subscription feature on Squarespace. We sell a subscription and ship a product every 3 months but want to charge monthly. The issue we have is that customers can cancel the subscription straight away but we have to ensure that the stay for at least 3 months. Is there a way with custom code to set a minimum subscription period? The customer should still be able to cancel straight away after their purchase but they would still pay for 3 months. After the 3 months a new product is sent out and this timer should start again and the customer should only be able to cancel for 3 months later. Timeline: Sale + first payment: 01.01.2019 Cancel: 01.10.2019 second payment: 02.01.2019 third payment: 03.01.2019 03.01.2019: Subscription cancelled Thank you in advance for any answers!
  17. Ladies and Gents, does anyone know how to / is able to add a feature of changing the date when customer's subscription is charged? my customers buy on our site for the first time and automatically subscribe, that's the only option. however, before we start preparing the next delivery, we check with the customer if they need it this month. they can postpone without charge. id they do, i obviously don't want to charge them. but squarespace doesn't offer that option. i have to cancel the whole subscription of that customer. so rubbish customer experience. does anyone have a ready solution? or is able to write one? or maybe there is a different way (e.g. manage subscriptions through stripe? it's our payment processor, they have the service called billing, but i have no idea if it's possible to make it happen and how to set up squarespace and stripe in that case to do it) thanks! Damian
  18. Our nonprofit website sells memberships that can be purchased via a monthly subscription (built into our commerce site as a subscription service). The challenge lies in the fact that every month when each individual monthly subscription renews every month, we (as well as the purchaser) receive a "New Order" notification email. This looks exactly the same as a genuine New Order and there is no way to easily differentiate between the two. Our volunteers have to compare the name/email address within the order to our current member list to determine if this is in fact a New Order or actually a renewal disguised as one. This is tedious and time consuming... and seems so unnecessary! I'm guessing we are not the only ones frustrated by this (shocking) limitation. Squarespace does not offer us an option to modify the content of the renewal email notifications. Is there any sort of coding workaround that could accomplish this??!! I'm getting desperate over here for any sort of fix!
