  1. Hello, I want to build a multilingual website, I'm thinking of paying for 2 separate websites and I want to configure them under 2 subdomains as follows: en.website.com (Main site, default language) fr.website.com (Copy of the main site, secondary language) My idea is to finalize the full English version under en.website.com, then go duplicate the full site in one click, then go configure it and translate it into French under fr.website.com. Here are my questions: 1 - Is it possible to configure the main domain website.com to the main site en.website.com? 2 - Is it possible to configure the secondary site under the fr.website.com subdomain? 3 - Does Google consider this structure SEO Friendly? In the end, I want to have 2 sites under 2 subdomains under 1 main domain name. Thanks
  2. Site URL: https://verbesserlich.com Hey! I created a landing page on covertkit and want to use a custom domain, a subdomain from my Squarespace account, namely exy.verbeserlich.com If I enter the URL (exy.verbesserlich.com) in the browser, my landing page already loads. That's great. However, I have not yet inserted DNS names (which I received from ConvertKit) on my Squarespace Account Settings, because an error shows up: "Wir konnten diesen Eintrag aufgrund widersprüchlicher CNAME-Einträge nicht speichern." - "We could not save this entry due to conflicting CNAME entries". The problem ist, that if I cannot enter the DNS names, the URL does not get verified on Convertkit. Therefore I cannot further use it to create pages like exy.verbesserlich.com/xxxx Anyone has an idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks! Lisa
  3. Site URL: https://perch-red-f8jd.squarespace.com pass: commons Currently building this site, will eventually transfer over existing third party domain. I would like to set up a third party subdomain which just one of the landing pages (/jack-green) will live on. For example, the whole site will run under www.example.com and that one page will be jackgreen.example.com Is there a way to do this with a third party sub domain?
  4. Site URL: https://acensisec.com Last week we noticed that the weglot platform was no longer opperating and the subdomain URL was coming up with a access denied notice. We logged onto the Squarespace settings to verify that the DNS and Code injection was correct; we also logged onto the Weglot platform and could see that the option for subdomains needed to be re-selected and the process to set-up subdomains completed - we have waited for 36hr+ and no luck. We haven't made any updates to the squarespace account. Our current status is that we have no weglot button on the website and the subdomains are no being identified by weglot. I have been on support chats with squarespace and they can verify that I have entered in the data correctly; I am currently struggling with weglot support as it's only a email response which can take upto 12hrs to respond and the information shared is just verifiing what we already know and it's not exactly a friendly dialog. We are stuck and not sure if this is due to the squarespace website being on version 7.0 is the problem. Any help would be highly appriecated.
  5. Site URL: http://shop.sansminds.com i have trouble with my shop domain. my root domain I bought on Squarespace is [ www.sansminds.com]. I have created a subdomain as well [shop.sansminds.com] and would like to forward it to my Shopify store. However, when I set up shop.sansminds.com as a primary domain on Shopify I get an error page for redirected too many times. How do I properly connect a subdomain from another provider to my shopify store? I would like my Shopify store domain how as [shop.sansminds.com]
  6. Site URL: https://www.mertonlawyers.com.au Hi team, We have an existing website https://www.mertonlawyers.com.au which we are looking to add a seperate part of the business to. Is it possible to create an entirely new SquareSpace site using a sub domain of the existing site? For example could we create and host a seperate site at mertonlawyers.com.au/private-services while maintaining the existing mertonlawyers.com.au site? Hope this makes sense. Appreciate any guidance!
  7. Hello Guys, We are planning to create a subdomain for our current page, but we need this subdomain to have a different Style. Now with style what we mean is that we need it to have a different type family, currently we know that changing the type family affects the whole website but we are wondering if a that rule also applies to subdomains?
  8. My site is on Squarespace 7.1 Is it all possible for a subdomain with two dots like (for example a similar URL of subdomain.root.com) to be directed of forwarded to a certain page on the same site. So subdomain.root.com then is directed to root.com/page. I know I've read on a support page you can't but I thought from prior version of Squarespace you could go to a "presets" to redirect to a specific page in "Advanced Settings". See link below. Has "URL mapping" replaced this? Is it possible to redirect in the URL mappings in this manner? https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/214767107 Currently, I have subdomain.root.com just pointing to the homepage of root.com. Thanks for any help!
  9. Site URL: https://iamclaudius.com I recently launched my Spring merch site now that tI have 10K subs on YouTube. I am also trying to connect to my Squarespace site. I was trying to set up a custom domain via Spring site but keep getting error on the Squarespace side. My guess is I need to use a subdomain? Not sure how to approach it. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Site URL: https://www.foxxfarm.com/ Hi, I have a client site with the Lodgify search bar embedded on the home page. I want to have the checkout happen on our website itself without redirecting to Lodgify. For this, I've created a new sub-domain with my domain provider (Google) and linked it to Lodgify, but I am getting an error there...has anyone done this before? Would appreciate some pointers. Thanks!
  11. Hi folks... I've read all the help with creating subdomains, etc, and it's still not clear to me. We have one website with SS. I'd like to create a subdomain, like: BLOG.ourdomain.com and have it send the user to a completely different set of pages from ourdomain.com. Is that possible? Thanks...
  12. Has anyone used Cloudflare with their Squarespace domain before? I'm trying to connect my domain to Cloudflare so that I can use my subdomain on Kajabi and continue to run ads on Facebook. Any help is great! I've been trying to follow both Kajabi's walkthrough and the vendor-specific DNS records on Cloudflare's website, but it's proving difficult since I don't have all of the corresponding DNS records that Cloudflare shows in their walkthrough. 13. Greetings, I am working on a website for a client that has a video streaming service. We would like to have the user login be the root domain. i.e. streamtv[.]com I also have other pages and a menu nav that I would like on a subdomain. biz[.]streamtv[.]com Is this possible on SquareSpace? I know how to do it on other hosting platforms. Thanks! (ps. those domains are fictitious)
  14. I have an SS at www.mysite.co.uk and want to maintain that, but also host an entirely separate (React + Firebase) site at, say, mysubdomain.mysite.co.uk, but this doesn't seem possible with the subdomain controls SS offers. Therefore I'm wondering if I can do one of the two following things (or possibly other suggestions if you have them): log into Tucows myself to administrate my own DNS etc. stuff; and/or transfer away from SS (as per the link listed below) and thereafter administrate my own DNS etc. stuff myself? https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205812338-Transferring-a-domain-away-from-Squarespace Thank you for taking the time to read jbm
  15. Hi I am trying to do the following: www.abc.website.com I added www.abc as a normal subdomain but it is not working. Is it possible to do this in Squarespace?
  16. Is there a way to make lets say test1.thishotel.com to point to my dns server but leave the main site www.thishotel.com pointing at square space servers?
  17. Site URL: https://standrewschurch.org.nz Hi, We just upgraded from version 5 to version 7.1. We finally went live few days ago. However I noticed that if we type with 'www', it always goes to the Squarespace "You're almost there". The DNS settings are all green and correct. Also I had to un-check "Use WWW Prefix". With this option checked, the site always showed "You're almost there" page. So to summarise: With "Use WWW Prefix" checked: standrewschurch.org.nz -> shows "You're almost there" page. www.standrewschurch.org.nz -> shows "You're almost there" page. With "Use WWW Prefix" unchecked: standrewschurch.org.nz -> working. www.standrewschurch.org.nz -> shows "You're almost there" page. What we want is that the website should show correctly with and without 'www'. Thank you so much.
  18. Site URL: http://http/yourhistoryapps.com I have set up a website to provide access to my Progressive Web App samples. I am using a PWA builder (Thorium Builder) that requires that the server has a PHP engine with the SQLite3 extension enabled. Is this configuration available on the SquareSpace personal plan or do I need to upgrade to a higher level plan to import and format my PWA? Thanks.
  19. I have a client who currently has their domain and emails (12 email addresses) on a private server. They want to transfer the domain into Squarespace and move the emails into GSuite. Has anyone ever done this or know where to find resources on this? They are very adamant about not wanting to lose email services or prior messages. They are currently using Outlook to access their email but want to move into Google. Thank you all in advance!
  20. How do I do that? I know how to forward blog.mydomain.com to mydomain.com/blog....but i don't want it to appear to users as such....i'd rather it appear as blog.mydomain.com Is that possible?
  21. Site URL: https://www.maineinternet.community My site is hosted elsewhere and the platform requires I add the www subdomain, which is fine with me. However, I want the root domain to automatically redirect to the www subdomain. All the settings I have tried do not work. The help instructions assume I am redirecting a subdomain and not the root. How to I get things set so using maineinternet.community results in landing at www.maineinternet.community instead of producing an error the way it does now?
  22. Site URL: http://www.biruvia.com Hello, I have what I thought should be a fairly easy task, but I can't find anything in the forwarding/pointing/redirecting articles in square space that covers this specifically. Here is what I'd like to do: Point/Forward/Redirect "swamimosa.com" to "biruvia.com/swamimosa" Both domains are managed through Squarespace and the website "biruvia.com" is hosted through Squarespace. I've gone into advanced settings for "swamimosa.com" and followed the instructions for adding a preset for "Forward Domain." I then add the URL "biruvia.com/swamimosa", but the website doesn't forward. If I set the Forward Domain from "swamimosa.com" to "biruvia.com" it does work, but I want to forward to a subdomain instead of a domain. How can I do this? Thanks!
  23. Site URL: https://www.supernetwastebasket.com/ I'm not sure how to tag this question. I have built two websites on squarespace. Just for my own businesses. Now I want to merge these under one umbrella website. Do I need to start over or is there some way to migrate existing websites to a new site? I will build a new site and I would like to have, for example, www.supernetwastebasket.com (one of my existing sites), be a subsection of the new site. is this possible?
  24. Hi, I'm trying to help a friend. They have an existing small publishing-business site using Squarespace and Squarespace Commerce to sell books from their catalog. In May, they plan to add a subdomain to the site for a new imprint so that they can send visitors interested in that new catalog/imprint straight to a sub-section of the site. So, something like: https://main-domain.com https://new-imprint.main-domain.com The new imprint will have a separate catalog of books, but at the same time, we'd like to use a single instance of Commerce so that a visitor to the domain can add/buy books from both catalogs with a single cart. My questions: - I'm assuming we can categorize the new imprint's books within the Commerce inventory then serve only items from that catalog to a product page on the subdomain. Is the feasible? - Could we also filter out the sub imprint's books from the primary domain's product page? - Will Commerce's cart instance be sustained over the domain and subdomain? In other words, if a user adds a book from the primary domain and the subdomain to their cart, will a single cart instance be created that contains both items? - Has anyone with experience already done this and if so, can you forewarn me of any pitfalls? I'm an experienced Laravel and WordPress dev, so can hopefully grasp technical answers in Squarespace speak, if required. This is my first time dipping a toe in Squarespace—I am very impressed. Thanks, Pat
  25. Site URL: https://shop.chenebleu.com/ Hi, I wonder if anyone has a solution to this problem. The site is a subdomain of www.chenebleu.com, if in error someone puts www.shop.chenebleu.com into their address bar (one customer said to the client that his browser had hidden www and automatically added it!) you get a dead page. Is it possible to add a redirect on www.shop.chenebleu.com to the DNS so if anyone types that in address in error they will be directed to shop.chenebleu.com? My limited experience says it is not possible as www CNAME is used for the www.chenebleu.com main domain and shop CNAME for the subdomain. There isn't a way to point "www.shop". However I am no expert! many thanks, Sandra
