  1. Hello, I constantly get repeat visits from two IP's, one that's in Brooklyn NY and another in Dallas TX, that I assume are trying to get into the site for some reason. Can anyone enlighten me as to what they are after and how i can stop them ? Thank you
  2. Site URL: http://www.iamchristiankasper.com Hello, I receive recently a lot of spam and random email addresses are being added to my newsletter list. Therefor I want to use a reCAPTCHA. But the integration is not working. In the edit mode it shows the reCAPTCHA and it doesn't mention any errors (e.g. "error for site owner: invalid site key" or domain errors) But when I go to my site, scroll down to the footer and add a email address inside of the newsletter form it didn't show the reCAPTCHA. Anyone knows what the issue is?
  3. I use Squarespace 7, which doesn't allow for blocking/banning IP addresses. Has anyone used an IP blocker app that's been effective?
  4. Site URL: http://www.arianamartin.com I have a newsletter sign up form on my site linked with Mailchimp. I'm getting LOTS of emails from Squarespace titled 'Mailchimp didn't save your recent Form Block submission' due to spam/suspicious activity. They are all clearly phishing attempts from spambots, because the names/email addresses used are suspicious (see screenshot). I used to get maybe one notification like this per week, but am now getting several per day. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to make my form more secure? Thanks in advance!
  5. I am getting frequent contact form notices from 2 of my websites and they are spam. They all have the name listed twice, an email that typically doesn't go with the name or is non-specific, a fake or unfinished website, and 1 word in the message. See picture for example. Is there a way to block these or change something to minimize getting them?
  6. Site URL: https://www.btheleaderdogtraining.com/ I've been using a contact form on my squarespace website for a few years now and I've just recently (within the past month) got this problem where a client will contact us using the form, but our response will go to their spam mailbox. I use gmail and have never had this issue before. Do you think this is a gmail issue or a squarespace issue? It's odd because they contact us first so I'm not sure why our reply would go into their spam box.
  7. Site URL: https://www.hpch.org/home/#contact-us We're starting to get some spam on our contact form. Are there any ways you might suggest to help prevent this?
  8. Hello, Does anyone have experience adding a non-Google captcha for block form submission? Recaptcha seems, like everything Google, to be a privacy nightmare and would prefer not to force my clients to engage with them if possible. Thanks!
  9. Site URL: https://vineyardcolumbus.org/contact-staff It seems that a common problem with providing a staff page for large organizations is how to enable contact links for staff members' emails without endangering their inboxes with spam due to malicious email scrapers. Squarespace does not currently provide an option for obfuscating or encrypting email addresses through the Link Editor. So my workaround for several clients has been to direct all "Contact Me" links to a single contact form on a separate page. However, it would be nice if we could pass a url parameter through to auto-populate a field in that form such as "Who are you trying to reach?" to essentially fill in that field for the user based on whichever staff members' contact link they clicked to arrive there. Here's the staff page I'm working on: https://vineyardcolumbus.org/our-leadership#leadership-campus-pastors-section where every Contact link directs to https://vineyardcolumbus.org/contact-staff My idea would involve setting the contact link for each staffer's gallery image (in the description field) as a text link with a href value of something similar to this: https://vineyardcolumbus.org/contact-staff?text-yui_3_17_2_1_1588078038493_298709-field=Charles%20Montgomery where... "text-yui_3_17_2_1_1588078038493_298709-field" is the id of the text field I want to populate (and though it contains a 'yui' seems to be a consistent id on any page load) and... "Charles%20Montgomery" is the value that would be plugged into that field if we clicked on Charles' contact link (and would display in the field as "Charles Montgomery") So what javascript could I insert on the Contact Staff page or header code injection that might accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hi, We are getting a ton of spam through our Contact Us form (link) - to the tune of 30 emails at a time. We added a ReCaptcha, but that doesn't seem to be helping at all. Is there a way to block an email domain, or something else we can do? I am brand new at this, so go easy on me! Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - I couldn't find anything when I searched. Thanks, Katie
  11. Hello, I'm looking for a way to have the reCaptcha popup come after a user has clicked the contact form SEND button. Currently the Captcha is displayed alongside the SEND button and. I'm curious to see if this would reduce user friction as well as reduce the amount of spam coming in. Thanks!
  12. Has anyone implemented Akismet as an anti-spam measure on a form on a Squarespace site? If so, how did you do it? Am looking for something that gets closer to GDPR compliance than Google ReCaptcha. TIA. https://akismet.com/gdpr/
  13. Hi community We have found that email addresses are displayed in plain text in the html code. How can email addresses be hidden from spambots? Other CMS do this by default. Thank you for your support.
  14. Site URL: https://bassroofing.co.uk/ Hi All. I hope this in the right place. I've set up a few websites now using Google Workspace for emails, including my own, but for the most recent site I've completed, any outgoing emails they are sending from the Gmail goes straight into the recipient's junk and I cannot for the life of me work out why. To clarify, these are just simple communication emails and NOT marketing campaign emails. Has anyone experienced this, or has any ideas?
  15. Site URL: http://www.timattewell.com Hello all! I've recently seen a heavy uptick in the amount of spam bots signing up for my mailing list. They're easy to spot because they put first and last name in twice, and the e-mail address has nothing to do with their name. For example, they tend to look something like this: Seth Lennon Seth Lennon 14289752@vtext.com Is there a way to block these pesky things? Thanks!
