  1. Hey guys :) I made my portfolio on a 4k display with a scaling factor of 175% in the windows 10 display settings* - no browser zoom. On that display, it looks like I want it to look (look at image 1). When I look at it on a 1920px display with a zoom of 100% it looks quite similar, though a little bit bigger. But when I saw it on a 1920px laptop screen that was on 125% scaling during a portfolio review, the proportions of the text and images were way too large while the white space was too small (look at image 2 - imagine this being full screen 🙈). *If it is unclear what I mean by the scaling factor, I mean this: https://youtu.be/t9xIbkD6XjQ?t=30 What do I do in such a case? I cannot decide the screen size of the HR person I send the portfolio to, so it should look good on every screen size, no matter if 4k or 1920px, and no matter the windows scaling factor (at least it is quite normal to have a scaling of 125% on a 1920 laptop screen and 150-175% on a 4k display). Is it possible & smart to set a zoom level of the browser depending on the screen size and windows zoom level? Or can I add additional breakpoints? Thank you so much for your support in advance! :D Image 1 (on 4k full screen): Image 2 (looks terrible on a laptop in full screen):
  2. My website: https://thrustinteractive.squarespace.com This sire looks good and has the appropriate white space on the sides of content on desktop, however when I look at the site in a mobile view elements are bunched together and the spacer blocks are lost. I am using the Brine template, is there any way to add code or have the spacer blocks that keep my site clean show up on mobile. It is keeping my website from being responsive and looking as good on mobile as it does on desktop. Thank you for your help!
  3. Site URL: http://iluminarts.uk I would like my search bar to sit under my header but on mobile even with the height down as far as it can go there is still a big white space i can’t get rid of. Anyone know how to help?
  4. Hello! Is there a way to remove the minimum width of a spacer block? I've found a lot of guides to remove the minimum height of a spacer, but not the with. Thanks in advance
  5. Site URL: https://www.graceventurawrites.com Does anyone have any suggestions on how to add padding to the top and bottom of ALL sections on a website on MOBILE ONLY? For some reason on the desktop versions the spacing is great. But on mobile the spacing disappears and I don't like how tight all the sections are to one another. Advice will be appreciated!
  6. Site URL: http://www.mcatventure.com Hi there! I have a problem with my summary. When I open my website it seems that the sizes of the photo looks wrong and the spacing also. I have attached a photo below for reference. It does the same to other summary that I have on my HOME. I would really appreciate any help given. Regards, AnneC.
  7. Site URL: https://davidcass.art/latest Hello. On this page (davidcass.art/latest) I've deliberately used a staggered design. On laptop, desktop & tablet, I'm happy with this. On mobile, however, the placing of the spacers makes uneven gaps between the artworks. Is there a way to ignore spacer blocks on mobile on this single page? I can't do this site-wide as I rely on spacers elsewhere in my site. Thanks so much. David
  8. Site URL: https://www.andrearteaga.com Hi I have tried searching for this yet can not seem to find anything on it, My question is on the arrow gif that is on my homepage (work), it is perfect size on desktop because I added spacers, but once I go to mobile the arrow is way too big. 1) I tried resizing the image with "max-width" but it just squished the arrow instead of resizing. I may be missing something there 2) I tried to modify one of the spacers since mobile gets rid of them with this code: #block-yui_3_17_2_1_1621041734241_7526 { display: block !important; } - that made the spacer appear but it was not to the left of the arrow. Thank you very much in advance
  9. Site URL: https://gregorylassale.com/ Because of the scaling, the center element on the Services pages (https://gregorylassale.com/english#services and https://gregorylassale.com/french#servicesfr) is out of alignment on mobile. The picture above os on an iPad Pro 11 (2388x1668 pixels) Here is the same page on desktop: Not sure if the fix would involve inserting a spacer above the "film TV and multimedia" SVG code block, aligning the center row of elements, or reducing padding on mobile. Thanks in advance for the help.
  10. Site URL: https://green-lobster-ggnk.squarespace.com/ https://green-lobster-ggnk.squarespace.com/ Site Acess code is 1234 I need to reduce the space between header 3, and paragrph across the site. (See example image) Setting the h3 verticale spacing lower makes it look bad when there are 2 lines that are h3. 11. Site URL: https://www.on2design.co.uk Hello all, Is there a way to remove or control the size of any spacer columns/spacer blocks in a page or site-wide from a specific screen size using CSS—in this case—for tablet screens? I just want to have a more control over the spacing of elements on the page. I am using the Avenue template. Many thanks for any help given 😊
  12. Site URL: https://www.thedadboxmovie.com/mystory Hi everyone! I do not have much experience with coding or html, but I was wondering if anyone can help me lessen the space between sections on my HIS STORY page on my website. It is under the "THE STORY" menu.
  13. Site URL: https://alpaca-cow-8939.squarespace.com/work/ariat I have 2 sets of images that have different dimensions. I want to create two different Gallery Blocks for them. For the Gallery setting i want to create a 5px spacing between the images, which is easy to do for the images within the same gallery. But i have a hard time figuring out how to create a 5px space between the 2 different Gallery Blocks so the design flow feels consistent. Is there a way i can achieve that?
  14. Hi, I am hoping to change the color and add some padding to one item in my "projects" menu on the homepage. I am attaching a screen shot. I would like to change "WHO WE ARE" to a hex code specific color and add extra padding below that item only. Can any help me out? Thanks for your time!
  15. Site URL: https://www.patriciateodoro.com 1. Hello! I am using the Wells template. I am looking for help on how to add a drop down to the mobile navigation version of my website. When viewing the desktop version the link, 'Main' and 'Thought Tree' show a drop down with other links but with the mobile version it just shows all of them and it looks quite messy. If that is not possible how can I add a line spacer/border above them so they're spaced out? I also tried making the drop down a:link smaller in font size but for some reason it also made the, 'Home' link small too and I couldn't figure out how to make the 'Home' link the same size as the other main links. The coding I tried wasn't correct. I just want to seperate the main links between the dropdown/sub links as it's just a heap of links which makes it look overcrowded and messy. The PW to the site is: thankyou2021 2. Also how can I position the navigation links to the left with some left padding? I did try it before but some links didn't align to the left. 3. Also is it possible to add a 'subscribe' link to my navigation bar. For example, 'SUBSCRIBE' placed under 'CONTACT' and once you click the subscribe link, a dropdown little box appears with a form to enter your email? Or is this not possible? Thank you so much Squarespace members!
  16. Site URL: http://www.amovintage.com Hey, I would really like to create a bit of space between the "breadcrumb" navigation where it says All/ and the product images below, think it looks really cramped Is there a way to do this? Cannot find anywhere! Thank you

Please can I get some advice? Thanks
  18. I'd like to remove the spacer blocks to the right of some text but only when viewed on a smaller desktop screen. This is so the text runs along the full width of the screen when the screen goes below a certain size. I have tried the CSS code below but nothing happened. Can anyone shed any light? Thank you! /* Remove spacer block */ @media screen and (max-width:740px) { .space-block { display: none !important; } }
  19. Site URL: https://bluebird-porcupine-yzdg.squarespace.com/home-copy-1 I would like to separate my sections on mobile by adding some white space between each section on mobile only (see image1) If I add a blank section on mobile it's quite high (see image2). 20. Site URL: https://www.katekrizka.com Hi There! I am looking to use spacer blocks to resize image/text blocks. I am also using a fixed background, therefore I can only have ONE section. When I add spacer blocks, they take up the entire height of the section rather than just affecting the image/text block. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
  21. Site URL: http://cube-clover-ac3f.squarespace.com Hi there, Does anyone know if it's possible to add blank space between sections? My sections have different coloured banners and I don't want them to flow into each other. Currently I have put a new page in there but I would like an alternative solution if there is one? Many Thanks, Eppie
