  1. Site URL: https://julehjaelpen.dk/ Hello Is there a code for moving the search to the header? And how can I replace the box with just an icon? My page for search results need to be customized because the menu is not readable. How can I get access to the search page? Look forward to hear from you. Regards, Marianne
  2. Site URL: https://miguelmateas.com/daily-picks Good morning! Does anyone know how to edit the placeholder text in the search box from "Search" to something else? Thank you in advance of your help! Miguel
  3. Site URL: http://myautismally.org/search Version 7.1 - Please fix the built-in Search function ... numerous issues: The following is intended to be constructive. 1. In-spite of the help articles the search only works on blog and groups pages, sadly we wasted too much time using the layout template to build pages only to find search doesn't work. 2. Note - the Search does appear to work, for a split second I see results from other pages, but then those disappear and are replaced with the "Your search did not match any documents." 3. Clean up the documentation - if Search doesn't work and you know it - ADMIT IT and tell us when it will work. If it works partially - ADMIT IT and tell how it "almost sorta" works and when it will really work. 4. For many users there's a difference between SEO search - what we want Google to crawl through, and what we may want our customers, viewers, users to be able to Search. Albeit, right now with a non-working Search - I'll take "works" with appropriate description ... for example - today 24Feb2020 it "works" on blog pages. 5. Add real world seach, modern, up-to-date capability ... like that box up there at the top of YOUR OWN webpages ... the box on the upper right, with the magnifying glass. 6. When the "search" does work ... stop trying to search letter by letter, you're code programming ain't that good or fast, let the user stop typing, maybe wait for a return character before starting to search. And stop erasing my search when I want to retry - maybe I just want to change a letter or add/remove a word. Thank you.
  4. Site URL: https://www.spiritofhealthkc.com/ For several months now our search bar has not been working properly. We have a title called, "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" but if you search the full title these ways, it says it can't find anything: "best practices for avoiding & combating viruses" "best practices for avoiding and combating viruses" "viruses" "Best Practices For Avoiding and Combating Viruses" However, if you write it exactly how the blog is written with the same punctuation (caps and & symbols), it will show up "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" or "Viruses" This happens with all of our blogs. I've reached out to Squarespace numerous times over the last few months about the issue. They've re-indexed the site several times and below is their most recent response. Is anyone else dealing with this? Any ideas on what is going on? "After taking some additional time to investigate, I can confirm the issue you're seeing with the built-in search bar is due to an issue on our end. In this case, the issue is preventing partial phrases or keywords from returning results. In order to view a specific post in search results, the exact title needs to be entered. I can also see you previously reported this issue in February, 2020 on a separate email request and can confirm we have noted your sites instance of this issue for our Design and Engineering teams to review. They’ll use this feedback when implementing fixes and improvements in future releases." "This bug's impact will vary depending on a number of factors like the type of site, the volume of content, how visitors navigate the site, and the ways the content is promoted or organized. For example, a lot of sites may never experience this behavior because of their site's structure/content or how often their visitors dig up older posts. For your site in particular, it looks like all of your posts are on a single Blog Page with posts dating back to 2014. If your visitors are frequently searching for older posts, you may want to consider creating multiple Blog Pages so you have an additional layer of organization - Blog Page, Category, Tag. Also, since the Blog Page and Summary Blocks display posts in chronological order, you may want to create a tag/category specifically for these popular posts. You may also want to consider hiding the Search Block from your Navigation due to its inconsistent results. You can do this from Design > Site Styles > Header:Layout > Search Position > Hide. This will encourage visitors to explore the other links and pages you've set up for finding this content."
  5. Site URL: https://www.handverkslaget.squarespace.com Hi all πŸ™‚ Are there anybody out there that would be able to help with the code injections for these? I have searched for results here, but couldn't find the answer. It's for pages where Squarespace doesn't have a system to change the language. Thank you! Best regards, Torgrim πŸ™‚ STORE: When you click one of the items, you will see "Prev I Next" in the top right corner. I would like to be able to change this text, if easy to solve. When you click one of the "medlemskap" items, there are several options you can buy. I would like to change the text saying "Select". For items that are out of stock, see "Klistremerke" (Stickers), you will see that the box to purchase still says "Purchase". I would like to change this text if easy to solve. If you try to put some items in the shopping cart and continue checking things on the website, before going to the shopping cart in the top right corner, you will get to a page saying "Shopping cart", and below "Item", "Qty.", "Price", "Size", "Subtotal" and "Checkout" Is there a way to translate/change this text without too much work? The whole check out site is mostly english and I don't think this is any easy fix, so don't worry about it. CALENDAR: If easy solve, I would like to be able to change the english names on months and days. And also be able to use 24 hour system on the time/clock, instead of the british/american AM/PM function. BLOG: Under blog, where you have an overview of all blogs, it says "Read More" at the bottom. I would like to change this text if easy to solve. Same place as above. If possibe, I would like the dates to go Date/Month/Year instead of Month/Date/Year. Again, only if easy to solve. When clicking each blog post, on top you will see the Month/Date. I would like to translate the english months to another language, and have the date in front of the month. SEARCH BOXES: If possible, I would like to translate the text in the search boxes, saying "Search". FOOTER (All pages) At the bottom, you can see some links to other pages/sites. I would like to keep the Url link, but to remove the underline so that it looks cleaner. FAQs General question, but I tried this code injection (see https://www.kayleighnoele.com/blog/how-to-install-a-faq-dropdown-accordion-in-squarespace) for a FAQ dropdown system. I added it and it looks okay, but it doesn't seem to dropdown/close when clicking the question. I did install this here: https://handverkslaget.squarespace.com/ofte-stilte-sporsmaal-faqs (password: trond), but I can't see it work for me. Is it just me? Just if an easy solve.
  6. Hello, I have a squarespace site (siteX.com) and created another site outside of squarespace (anothersiteX.siteX.com). I'd like to use the squarespace site searchbox to also search anothersiteX.siteX.com. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach this? Thanks!

  8. Hellooooo!!! I noticed that the search bar functionality is missing in 7.1. I would like to add a sitewide bar on my website - can anyone help with a workaround or some coding for this? Requirement is for search to have ability to search categories and tags.
  9. Hey guys, Does anyone know how or have the code to insert a search box in the header for 7.1 templates? I am using the Rivoli template. Your help is much appreciated! Thanks 😊
  10. Site URL: http://madeinorl.com/search Any news on when this function will appear? I've now got clients who need this and it's not working. Everything is done except for this last thing. Please please tell me I don't have to build it over in 7.0 to get search to work.
  11. Site URL: https://www.comolakesideblog.com Hi guys! Apologies in advance for my stupid questions (probably frequent in these days as I'm setting up the blog and I'm lockdown) but I've never used Squarespace before. I would like to add a search bar (searchbox) in all pages. In the homepage it would be good to add it in the main navigation menu - what about the other pages, like inside the single sections (e.g. "Culture" inside "Lake Como")? How can I do this? I'm using Rally template, version 7.0. Thanks for your help!
  12. Hi, I'm trying to resize the search box that I have in my menu. I want it to be the same size as the newsletter sign up box. Any ideas on how to do this? Screenshot is attached with how it currently looks. Thanks!
  13. Site URL: https://www.ramprecision.com I have a terms and conditions page, that I don't want to be displayed in the search bar results. I haven't linked it to anything on my page so it is not visible until somebody searches for it on the search bar. Is there a custom css to not show a specific letter while searching?
  14. Site URL: https://pvastx.org We're using the Clay template and have enabled the search feature in the header. It's set to only show the magnifying glass icon, and when you click on it it opens a blank page containing only the search box (which is fine). However, the search box is HUGE, spreading across the whole page and magnified. Is there a way to edit the page that's generated when clicking on the search icon to display a search box that is sized to match the content on the rest of the site? Thank you!
