  1. Hello Is there a way to create a phone or organization directory list with search or a lookup function based on department or category of people and function?ThanksBuck
  2. I have a blog set up where I would like to create a page under the main navigation where I can list in short form tasting notes on red and white wines, where the reader can filter by type, grape, vineyard, etc. I think this is possible if I had done a shopping site but no idea how to even get started to build this. thewoffice.co
  3. Hi all, When I search for my website on google, under the title of the website it has the headings that are on my website e.g projects, personal, about etc. but it also has filenames for images e.g f1001.jpg . I am not sure which images these represent or more importantly how to avoid an file names appearing in the search at all. Has anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it? All help would be appreciated. Thanks , Emil
  4. I am currently working on a website built off of the Mojave template that utilizes the built in on-site search bar as well as several indexed pages. I would like for the search results to populate with the Index title, and not the titles of each page within the index. For example, one index is titled 'Missions' and it has the indexed pages of 'Missions-action', 'Missions-info', 'Missions-upcoming', etc. I would like the site search to only show 'Missions' and not the other page titles. Is this possible? Thanks for any help!
  5. HI There, I'm wanting to host a really basic searchable database on a couple of sites. The database is really basic and needs to include a company name, stand number and a web address. I can't seem to find anything that works in a simple & responsive way. I've explored Caspio - but it's a complicated product that is not responsive without adding extra code, plus its expensive, and my client needs to keep costs way down. They will also need to be able to maintain going forward and are not tech savvy. Also - Caspio once embedded breaks the editing capabilities of the page its hosted on, which is not good. What I'd love is a plug in or something easy to use, that means everything is hosted on Squarespace and there is no double handling or external subscription required. Crossing fingers someone on here has found a unicorn, :)
  6. Does anyone know how I could go about adding a input field on the header of the page? I am trying to integrate squarespace with another site for our company, and one of the first steps is this.
  7. Has anyone been successful in customizing the sort order for search results? I want to return results sorted alphabetically by page title. But Squarespace returns all search results based on "relevance." Unfortunately, relevance is a blunt instrument. For example: We're selling wines. We have 700 different wines. 50 of them are vintage 2010. A customer searching "2010" will get a list of results that are sorted randomly, because the vintage "2010" is listed exactly twice for every wine. Instead, we'd like the results to display alphabetically like this: Amazing Estates Cabernet 2010 750 ml Bob's Vineyards Napa Valley Red 2010 750 ml Carrington Family Merlot 2010 750 ml etc. Has anyone figured a way to achieve this? Thanks in advance! - Jeff
  8. Hello Squarespace Community: I know this may not be the type of thing people are discussing here, but I thought I'd give it a go. We would like to display a searchable catalogue of information within our Squarespace website. The website belongs to the Turtle Conservancy, and they would like a way to search and display every species of turtle and tortoise along with a map, conservation status and short informational blurb. Does anyone have any experience with custom web app development to display a predefined set of information... With my little experience in databases, Salesforce and FileMaker this seems like it may be a great application of database technology... there will only be about 370 records total. One really nice example is the way the ebird website offers a search by species and by region on their website here: https://ebird.org/explore Any and all comments / ideas are welcomed and greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  9. Hello! Is there anyway to customize search result page? I have Clay template. I would like to have only photos + titles in search result, without descriptions, filenames or anything else. Does anyone know how to hide them? Thank you
  10. Hello! Is there anyway to customize search result page? I have Rally template. I would like to have only photos in search result, without any titles, texts or anything. Does anyone know how to hide them?
  11. Hello, I am trying to have a search box on my website that you can select your preferred month and it will show the results from the schedule page. Are there any plugins that can help me or what should i do?
  12. Hi, I'm wanting to add custom text to the search block. It currently says "search" in the box. Does anyone know how to have it display custom text? Thank you!!!
  13. Anytime I add a block to a page, it defaults to a flush left position. For example, if I want to have the Search Block appear right in the middle of a page, I need to add a Space Block to the left of it and stretch it out to the right until the Search Block becomes visually centered to my eye. Same with an image. If inserting an Image Block, I would need to add a Space Block on both the left and right of it in order to force it to center. Are adding all of these spacer blocks the only way to force things to center? What about the Search Block where the Space Block is only on the left of it (to push it further right). Seems like there should be a more precise and elegant way to get this to be centered. All of these Space Blocks also effect the mobile version's layout.
  14. Is there anyway to hide index subpages from the built-in search so only the main index page appears? We use a Bedford template, so going to the direct subpage is just that section in a folder that gives you no access to the main index page. Really not ideal.
  15. Website: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com Access Password: c0di$ Hi. I am using the Five template. If I enable banners to appear at the top of every page, it also appears at the top of the search page: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com/search I would like to hide it from the search page only while still having banners on the other pages of the website. I was previously supplied this piece of code however it does not work for me as I first thought: /* Remove banner search page */ 2. body#yui_3_17_2_1_1568971484861_71 #banner-area-wrapper { 3. display: none; 4. } Thanks, Terry.

  18. Hello, My site uses the Om template. In Site Styles > Options > Header Subtitle, I have selected "None." However, in Google search results for my site, I see the site title as the main link, then underneath are the words "Street Address. City, State, Zip. Phone Number. Your Custom Text Here ..." Why are these items showing up when I have not selected those options for my header subtitle? Is there a way to remove these items from the site/and therefore Google, so the site has a cleaner look in search results? Thanks so much!
  19. By default, every page in the Five template has a big banner at the top. However I really want this hidden from the internal search page (www.myurl.com/search) and search results page because it pushes the search bar / results far too down the page when the banner is there. How can I do this so it is only hidden from the search and search results page?
  20. Hi all, I'm looking for a way to create a search function on a site I'm currently putting together where items (in this case properties for rent) can be indexed by the various things they offer in a similar way to how this company does it: https://www.salcombefinest.com/luxury-accommodation/ By selecting options from the list, it then shows only items that for instance have a hot tub or can sleep a certain number of people. Squarespace couldn't help and have told me it's a specialist function. Is this something anyone has any knowledge of? I thought it would be a case of adding categories and/or tags then adding some sort of search that uses those to present the required options but that doesn't appear to be the case. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hello, I am creating a website for a business networking organisation. I want to put all their members names on the website under their industry categories and then add a search option to the 'members' page to make finding them easy. Could anyone please describe the process to me on how to make this possible? I am having trouble understanding how to make this work. At the moment I have created a blog post for each category (eg: IT services) and added each member who works in IT services to that blog post. I have added a category called 'IT services' to that blog post. When I added the search bar however, and typed in for example, 'Don Wilks' (see screenshot), it would take me to the blog post he was listed on but not take me to HIS name. Is it possible to add tags to text within blog posts so using the search bar is more useful?
  22. Does anyone know how to tie and track a paid search keyword to the lead submission? I want to know what leads are using what keywords. I understand I can set up multiple landing pages, but if I have hundreds of keywords I'll have hundreds of landing pages. I just want to know what the lead clicked before they submitted a form. I have GA and GTM on the site now. Any advice?
  23. Hello,So say I search for the word "supply chains" in my website's built-in search feature. What shows up are the titles, thumbnails of the articles, and a scramble of words to show the description. It will basically have every sentence in the article with the word "supply chains" in there and italicize the word to produce very incoherent text. Is there a way to get rid of all that description and instead just have the meta description for each article in there? PS. Im using the brine template
  24. 25. Hello, I've encountered a problem where none of my images are coming up in google searches. I have a portfolio style website, with a few pages of lots of images, yet none of them appear when searched for. The only images from my site that appear in searches are my logo and an image I've used on the contact page. I recently set up a shop with Shopify which is linked to my website, and all of the images from the shop appear in searches, so it's bizarre that none of the main website images do. I've gone through all of the SEO checklists, indexed the site via Google and added descriptions and tags to each image, yet none of them are showing up. I'm using the Wexley template, although I'm not sure if that effects anything? I asked Squarespace online chat for some insight into why it might be happening but they just sent links to articles I've already read. Anyone had a similar problem or has any insight as to why this might be happening? Any help would be much appreciated!
