  1. Site URL: https://skye-demo.squarespace.com/ Hey all! I'm moving a blogging site across from WordPress. Is there a theme that has sidebar search author block Is the latest version (assume this is best practice - to always use latest versions?) Skye family has these features, but not available in 7 .0 +. Is it being updated? If there is a theme in the pipeline I can hold off, otherwise might need to stick to WP for this one site. Cheers, Madeleine

  3. Site URL: http://www.solrise.org Hii there - I am trying to customize the search bar in my footer. i want it to be just an icon and elliminate the box around it.. is there anyway to do this? thank you
  4. Site URL: https://www.4tfit.com/blog The default color of the word "Search" is gray and hard to read against the site's background. Anyone know how to change that? (Note, that text that user's input is white).
  5. Site URL: https://www.spiritofhealthkc.com/ For several months now our search bar has not been working properly. We have a title called, "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" but if you search the full title these ways, it says it can't find anything: "best practices for avoiding & combating viruses" "best practices for avoiding and combating viruses" "viruses" "Best Practices For Avoiding and Combating Viruses" However, if you write it exactly how the blog is written with the same punctuation (caps and & symbols), it will show up "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" or "Viruses" This happens with all of our blogs. I've reached out to Squarespace numerous times over the last few months about the issue. They've re-indexed the site several times and below is their most recent response. Is anyone else dealing with this? Any ideas on what is going on? "After taking some additional time to investigate, I can confirm the issue you're seeing with the built-in search bar is due to an issue on our end. In this case, the issue is preventing partial phrases or keywords from returning results. In order to view a specific post in search results, the exact title needs to be entered. I can also see you previously reported this issue in February, 2020 on a separate email request and can confirm we have noted your sites instance of this issue for our Design and Engineering teams to review. They’ll use this feedback when implementing fixes and improvements in future releases." "This bug's impact will vary depending on a number of factors like the type of site, the volume of content, how visitors navigate the site, and the ways the content is promoted or organized. For example, a lot of sites may never experience this behavior because of their site's structure/content or how often their visitors dig up older posts. For your site in particular, it looks like all of your posts are on a single Blog Page with posts dating back to 2014. If your visitors are frequently searching for older posts, you may want to consider creating multiple Blog Pages so you have an additional layer of organization - Blog Page, Category, Tag. Also, since the Blog Page and Summary Blocks display posts in chronological order, you may want to create a tag/category specifically for these popular posts. You may also want to consider hiding the Search Block from your Navigation due to its inconsistent results. You can do this from Design > Site Styles > Header:Layout > Search Position > Hide. This will encourage visitors to explore the other links and pages you've set up for finding this content."
  6. Site URL: https://www.rainbowbridge.love/ Hey - I was surprised to hear that 7.1 templates don't have an option to put a search bar in the header nav as an always on. Building an ecomm site I figured that would be pretty standard. I don't want to put it on individual pages as that would mess with the flow and design. Any ideas for custom code to have a search bar in the header nav?
  7. Site URL: http://rewardkid.art/art I have two questions. 1) I'm trying to get the search to only show the page that is searched for (via tags, or words on that page). As it stands now, If I search orange, I get the image of that orange but not the page in the search? 2) is there a way to create in a second navigation bar a filter option which I could then filter what's shown on the art page? like, filter sports, and then on pages with a sports #tag appear? I'm using the avenues theme. Thanks

  12. Site URL: https://www.dolina.co.uk Hello! Needing some help with a custom css please! My site is typically vanilla... however I do have a 'naughty' section for the more foul language that people request/like... On that note, I don't want someone searching 'bee' to find my nice vanilla cushions and below it 'buzz off you pr*ck' (and worse! sorry!). Can anyone help with a custom css that will allow me to exclude all my 'naughty' products please! Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi, I just started creating a page today, and I realised that the page does not contain a search bar. I have vers. 7.1. Is there any way to add a search bar? I can't seem to find any help with inserting one. If I can't, is there any way for me to switch to a template that has a search bar without losing my content?
