  1. Site URL: https://chiroup.com/podcast I'm creating a podcast page and I want to change the "read more" text to "Listen Now" However, I have another blog page where I want to keep the "read more". How can I change the text just on my podcast page? PW: 1017
  2. Hey all! What podcasts are you currently creating/producing. Feel free to link to the site/recommend a specific episode!
  3. Site URL: https://gracebiblerichmond.org Our podcast works on Apple but the URL link generated by Squarespace apparently stopped working with Google and other podcast sites back in July 2022. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this? This is the URL: https://gracebiblerichmond.org/sermonarchive?format=rss Thank you.
  4. Site URL: https://chiroup.com/podcast Hi there, I am wanting to turn off showing the author and author profile on my podcast page. However, I have a blog page where I do want the author and author profile to show. When I turn off the toggles, it turns it off for both the podcast and blog page. Is there a way to turn it off just for the podcast page? PW: 1017
  5. Site URL: http://mamayouredoinggreat.com I am trying to add my Podcast Episode Player from Buzzsprout to my SS Website. Nothing is showing up, besides Script Disabled. Can someone help me please
  6. Site URL: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kate-show/id1337878734?mt=2 Hi! My client's podcast encountered a problem of "Playback Error" when trying to listen to the podcast via Apple Podcast. I checked with Google Podcast, Podchaser, Castbox, and encountered the same issue. However, they seem to work fine on Spotify. Backstory: Earlier this year, my client move her site from Squarespace 7.0 to Squarespace 7.1. Then just recently, she received many emails from her podcast listeners stating that all her episodes prior to January 2022 have a "playback" error on Apple Podcasts. We've contacted Apple, and after further review, they have been able to confirm that episode urls listed in the RSS feed have been deleted. See attached for one episode. Apple advised us to contact the hosting. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks!
  7. Site URL: https://speakoutloudnew.squarespace.com/podcast I'm new to adding a podcast to Squarespace and am wondering what is possible for a client site. They have an existing podcast and they want every past episode uploaded to the site as well as future episodes. They are hosted on Anchor. Is there a way to do this automatically? I don't understand if RSS can work this way. Thanks!
  8. Site URL: https://evolutionofbrilliance.squarespace.com/podcasts/ Hi there, I have a podcast page using a blog and blog summary set up. I am using tags and categories to feature info within the podcast (blog post) page but I don't want these as clickthrough's. I have found and tried various code snippets but I can't get any of these to work for me. Some help here would be most appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!!!
  9. Site URL: https://www.chumbo.org Hello! I'm having issues with embed podcasts on mobile and tablet. It doesn't respond well once resized. It appears to be underneath the background layer. Please see attached pic illustrating the issue. Any thoughts? Thank you
  10. Site URL: http://gots8r.com Hi! So I've created a blog page to load up episodes of my podcast, to use as the page the various podcast platforms will pull my episodes from. (gots8r.com) But I would prefer to also have a separate "Episodes" page, with individual links to each episode (via episode specific artwork). I have created an individual page for each episode, that I want to be accessible via the individual links on the "Episodes" page, but not listed on the public navigation bar. Is there a way to link to the "not listed" pages? (i.e. so I can use the link for each page on the "Episodes" page?) or do I have no choice but to use the blog page? I'm not at all computer/coding savvy, so I won't at all be offended if you explain to me like I'm five! Thanks in advance!
  11. Site URL: https://www.cheftimony.com/episodes Hi There, I've reached out for help via Squarespace on this issue, but because I'm entering code into a code block, they can't help. Here's what's happening: When I post a new episode blog the podcast script posts a-okay to the correct post. A week later we go to post a new episode/post, add the code block with the new podcast audio script, and that's when it gets shady. For some reason, the podcast audio, and just the podcast audio, image and copy on the post stay as it should, gets bumped back to the previous post from the week before. So basically in a nutshell....all the podcasts episodes audio are all off by one blog/episode post, which is obviously not intended. haha If you go to our episode page: https://www.cheftimony.com/episodes and go to each post, you can see that the incorrect podcast is posting for that particular post. I've also attached an image. We're using the podcast player called fusebox. It specifically says to take the script, copy it, and paste it into a code block, and all is good. Squarespace suggested that it may be an issue on Fusebox's end... Also an FYI, we are hosting the podcasts on blubrry, which then gets updated into Fusebox, and then we take that code and place it into squarespace. Could this be the issue? (My client set this up, so I'm not sure if it's the most efficient way to go about this...) Any help or explanation would be amazing, as we're pulling our hair out trying to figure out what is going on. Thanks so much!
  12. HI! I'm a building a site for a podcast. My goal is to enable listening to audio and reading a text at the same time, therefore I need to make my audio player move with the scrolling of the page. I have seen a couple of codes like this : #id { position: fixed; bottom: 0; right: 0; z-index: 999; } But nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thank you!
  13. Site URL: http://www.chrisbrock.uk I have a podcast that is not hosted on Squarespace. Each episode, I create a blog post on my Squarespace site, write a post and embed the episode. But I have to do this for every episode, and it's a lot of extra work that I could do without. Ideally, what I'd like is to have a page with a gallery of all episodes, that automatically updates each time there's a new episode published. Click on the episode artwork and it takes you to the external hosting site. I understand that Squarespace is keen to get people podcasting with its own service, but I'm not ready for that yet. Is it possible to do what I'm thinking of?
  14. Site URL: https://risedigital.tech Hi there. I have two blog sections on my site. 1. Blog, where I want the images (mostly landscape screen shots) on the blog page to be 3:2 aspect ratio. 2. Podcast, where I want the images (entirely podcast-style album art) on the blog page to be 1:1 square aspect ratio. After changing formatting the respective blog pages 100 times (rough estimate) and my changes not 'sticking' I was able to determine that if I change the format of one blog (even though I do it on its own page, not globally in the styles interface), it oddly changes the format of the other, completely unrelated, blog. Assuming this is (bizarrely) intended behaviour and not a bug, does anyone know how to apply a specific aspect ratio to one blog page's images and not the other? Christian
  15. Site URL: https://hitlikeagirlpod.com/episodes I'm switching my podcast episodes from the built in SS audio player to Megaphone's service, which gets pulled in through to each episode post through an iframe. Does this change require that I update my RSS feed to Megaphone's, or will SS pick up the audiofile from the iframe code? I have the business plan.
  16. Site URL: https://jenny-young-ry38.squarespace.com/clswpodcast?format=rss Hi all, I've created a blog on a website to host a podcast. I've created the RSS feed (https://jenny-young-ry38.squarespace.com/clswpodcast?format=rss) and yet when I try and submit to Apple Podcasts Connect is just times out. Has anyone else come across this, and do you know the fix? The RSS feed itself seems fine. I've run it through a few third party RSS feed validators, and they come back with green ticks. I can even manually import the show into the Apple Podcasts app with no problem - it pulls in artwork, description and the media. I also had a go at submitting to Stitcher and it submitted fine and is now there on the Stitcher site (https://www.stitcher.com/show/the-creative-life-story-work-podcast) I'm at a bit of a loss - many thanks! Will
  17. Hi, I have the problem, that when I submit my podcast to https://itunesconnect.apple.com/ I see HTML-Tags within my description of my podcast. Within the Squarespace input field for that description, I ensured that no line breaks or any further formation is included within the description text. Anyhow, when I open the RSS-Feed the description Tag always contains a CDATA block followed by a HTML Paragraph-Tag. Thats something I can't influence, and it makes the description look very ugly. Can someone help or approve that I'm doing something wrong or is it a known issue?
  18. Site URL: https://themeasureofanepisode.squarespace.com I use Podtrac as a third party podcast download tracker via the "Podcast Analytics URL" field in the Podcasting upload section of our blog post. Currently, Podtrac is reporting we get an average of 20 listens per episode. However, the Squarespace RSS Subscribers Analytics is reporting around 3,500 subscribers per day, which is a giant discrepancy. I understand a download and a subscriber isn't the same thing. But, what could be the reason for such a discrepancy?
  19. Hi all! I have a quick question. I have been hosting a podcast through my business website for almost three years. About three months ago, I noticed that my podcast “episode notes” were being cut off in Apple Podcasts as displayed below. I haven’t changed the way I write the audio content so checked previous episodes and they weren’t cut off as shown below. Now I’m limited to 200 characters, which is extremely difficult to do given the amount of information that I provide listeners. I was told that the cause would have to be in my RSS feed, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access my own RSS feed details so I can look for causes. Can someone please direct me to where to find this? Thank you so much for reading. Best, Jen
  20. Site URL: https://www.kulturedgroundz.com/podcast-episodes-1 I recently switched my podcast from a hosting site to my website. I've tried my best to follow the steps that Squarespace provides but of course something went wrong. So after redirecting my RSS Feed I created a blog post, added audio blocks for each of my podcast episodes but when i check the rss feed validator none of my episodes pop up on all platforms including Apple. I know Ive done something wrong as this is a tedious operation. Can someone, anyone help me with this? https://www.kulturedgroundz.com/podcast-episodes-1?format=rss I have 59 episodes that are all on my webstie but not on Apple, Spotify etc.
  21. Hello! Considering our recent times, I've had to transition all of my podcast interviews from in-person to over the phone conversations. While my audio sounds great using my Shure microphone plugged into a Zoom H6, the guest's audio is often poor (using over the phone...which is plugged into my H6, as well). What do you think is the best option for recording the guest? Do you instruct your guests to connect on Zoom but the require the use of headphones (a particular type, perhaps)? Do you rely on a wifi enabled phone call? Any tricks and technology suggestions are appreciated! Michael The Elements of Being Podcast http://www.michaelmoodyfitness.com/the-elements-of-being-podcast
  22. All, I have three blog collections on my website, hosted by Squarespace. Two are written blog collections, and one is a Podcast collection. For the past two years, I have been able to successfully click "edit" on any post in any of the three collections, and select "duplicate" at the bottom of the dialog box that appears, and use the subsequently duplicated post as a template for a new post. This has saved time in publishing content to my site. Last week, I started receiving an error. Whenever I click "duplicate" on any post in any of the collections, I get this message: "ERROR SAVING" "An error occurred while duplicating this item" My two written blog collections have 93 items, each, and my podcast collection has 96 items. I have attached a screenshot of the error message. I have also started a support ticket with Squarespace support. I hope to resolve this error soon, as it significantly impacts my workflow. Has anyone run across this error?
  23. I have had a podcast on Podomatic for 4 years. If I switch to Squarespace for hosting how difficult is it to update all the places Podomatic sends our feed to? I dont want to start all over again. For example from Podomatic our podcast goes to Iheart Radio, Apple Podcasts, Deezer, Player FM and many more. If I switch to Squarespace will it update the RSS feed to those?
  24. Site URL: https://wearebluecabin.com/clswpodcast Hi does anyone know if third party analytics will include podcast plays from within the website, or will they just pick up downloads via RSS? Presumably SS just sticks the third party analytics URL in front of the path for the audio file. So if you click 'play' on the audio block, presumably it triggers a play-count with the third party analytics (Blubrry free analytics) as it'll play the file via that modified URL? Thanks all,
  25. Site URL: https://www.cowardspace.com/opheads Hello! So I run a website for a podcast, there's about ten episodes and each one requires its own 'episode page' (for research notes and so on) which I have been adding as I go. After fiddling around trying to find a way to format the main 'podcast page' so that the episodes are easy to navigate, it occurred to me that it would have been a much more simple move to add each 'episode page' to a Blog format, as the navigation options are a lot more easy to work with. I could create them all again from scratch, but I'm thinking their must be an easy way to either 'drag' or 'copy' the entirety of my 'normal web page' directly into the blog format to create 10 seperate 'blog pages' Is this an easy thing to achieve? Just curious Thanks :)
