1. Hello! Considering our recent times, I've had to transition all of my podcast interviews from in-person to over the phone conversations. While my audio sounds great using my Shure microphone plugged into a Zoom H6, the guest's audio is often poor (using over the phone...which is plugged into my H6, as well). What do you think is the best option for recording the guest? Do you instruct your guests to connect on Zoom but the require the use of headphones (a particular type, perhaps)? Do you rely on a wifi enabled phone call? Any tricks and technology suggestions are appreciated! Michael The Elements of Being Podcast http://www.michaelmoodyfitness.com/the-elements-of-being-podcast
2. Hey podcasters! I'm helping launch a podcast (after I helped the company build their site on Squarespace) and I’m trying to figure out the best way for them to record, host, and distribute. There will be two hosts and a guest recording remotely every episode. I just want to make sure they’re on a system that can reliably record without connection issues (on separate tracks so I can adjust the levels) and the best way to distribute episodes to the major platforms. I’ve been looking into anchor, zencaster, and cleanfeed among others. One option looks to be host the episodes on Sqsp (and they have a direct sync with Apple Podcast) and then you can upload an RSS feed and manage each platform separately. Has anyone gone this route? If anyone has any advice it’d be much appreciated!
3. Site URL: https://www.mission43.org/m43-media/m43-podcast-ep22-david-vobora Hello, Does anyone know of a way to capture clicks or listens to an audio block on your squarespace page? For example, we have a blog/media page where we upload podcast episodes through an audio block. Here is one of the pages for reference: https://www.mission43.org/m43-media/m43-podcast-ep22-david-vobora The audio file then feeds into other podcast platforms like Spotify, Google Play, etc. through the RSS feed. We can get the data on the other platforms when streamed through there, but would like to capture the data on our page if possible. Thanks,
4. Is it possible for the same podcast audio block to appear on two different blog pages ? This is the same audio block (episode of a podcast) that I want to categorize in two different places on the website. How to solve this problem without duplicating the audio block (podcast) ?
5. Hello! I am making a new website on squarespace 7.1. I currently have an already existing podcast that I publish with acast, and wanted to know if i could somehow sync that podcast to a page on my site, so that page autopopulates with photos, descriptions, etc. I know that spotify and apple podcasts use the RSS feed; is there a way to do this on squarespace as well? Thank you in advance everyone!
6. Site URL: http://goddessvault.blogspot.com Hello, I am new to Squarespace. I haven't gotten my new site up yet. I do have a question. I am having issues with my current podcast blog. I am wondering if Squarespace does allow embedded audio or video onto the site. I just want to know before I commit to paying $16 a month.
7. Site URL: https://cutthecraftpodcast.com Hey! I host my podcast with Squarespace, but our next episode exceeds the 160 mb limit. All the guide on the website says is "upload it to an external service and add its public URL" - the problem is, I have no idea what kind of external service to use, since it can't support dropbox or soundcloud files (in the audio block). I understand that there are podcast-specific hosting platforms, but the whole reason I went with squarespace was to not have to use one of those services. And if I do have to go with something like buzzsprout, then will they automatically start syndicating my show through their own things, confusing RSS feeds (as some of you may be able to tell, I barely know what I'm talking about so maybe this is just a bunch of gobbldey gook). Are there any alternative services where you can upload and store a large audio file in a 'https://...mp3' sort of format? Thanks, and apologies if this is an obvious question.
8. Site URL: http://qiological.com HI I am considering moving from Wordpress to Squarespace. On WP I have a membership site with some extra podcast episodes for members of my podcast. Would it be possible on Squarespace to create a membership site where I could put these podcasts. But more importantly, have a private RSS so the exclusive podcasts can be downloaded to the member's podcast app on their phone? thanks Michael
9. So I'm not sure if I am asking the right question, but I am trying to make a website for my podcast and also showcase the video projects I have worked on. The only problem is that every template I have been recommended has index pages and I am not a fan of how they look. So the template I need is one that allows for the home page to play a video, allow multiple pages, and no index scrolling/pages (or whatever you call it). I'm sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense, this is all very new to me. Thanks!
10. Site URL: http://www.harrysherriff.com Hello, I'm having trouble embedding my podcast on the homepage of my website. I found Spotify was really easy, mainly because it's easy to find their embed code but I can't seem to find it on Apple/iTunes. They're just giving me a normal link, which isn't working. Any help would be much appreciated. Harry
11. Hey all! What podcasts are you currently creating/producing. Feel free to link to the site/recommend a specific episode!
12. Site URL: http://www.tommybowman.com I have selected the episode type "trailer" but Apple Podcasts doesn't display it as such. Anyone know how?
13. Site URL: https://meningitis-foundation.squarespace.com/podcast-stories I am hoping someone can help. I am loading podcasts for the first time and ultimately I need a single page to feature 13 podcasts. After looking around for different types of solutions there seems to be 2 solutions that I can see. https://meningitis-foundation.squarespace.com/podcast-stories pa33word Note...please ignore the long excerpts, it's there so the client can cull the content down 😉 Option 1 – Set it up using a blog Problem = This takes you to individual detail pages to listen to each podcast. If this is the only solution, is there a way to play the podcast in the initial landing page rather than on 3 separate blog pages? Option 2 – Set the page up manually and use audio blocks. This is very manual so I wondered if there was another way to listen to the podcasts all on the same page. Here's hoping some clever person can help!! Thanks in advance 😉
14. Site URL: https://www.sullafotografiapodcast.com Hi, I've been trying to insert a podcast player from Spreaker (where I host my podcast) on my website, but nothing seems to work. I was told I needed to upgrade my plan from personal to business and I did that, but the problem is still there, exactly the same. The following is the code in my page where I want my podcast to show as a code block: Ascolta "Sulla Fotografia" su Spreaker. I'll also post a screenshot: Can someone help me please?
15. Site URL: https://jeboahmiranda.ca/in-her-blazer Hello, I have been trying to use the following code in my page where I want my podcast to show as a code block: Listen to "#1: In Whose Blazer?" on Spreaker. and this one in my header settings: to embed Spreaker into my website to display all my podcasts but it has not been working. I can only see the actual code come up on my page, not what it's supposed to turn into (the final product where consumers can listen to the podcast episodes on my website). Contacted your live chat people first to help solve this but they sent me to you.. Please help!
16. I am creating a site for someone who does podcasting. We need to be able to add their podcast audio to the blog article list page, so the user doesnt have to click into each article to listen to the next episode. Does anyone know of a way I can add audio or an embed code into the excerpt or another way to get audio or embed code to display on the blog list page?
17. Hi,I used to host my podcast in squarespace, but recently I switched to podbean. When I was hosting it on squarespace the rss feed was created through audioblogs, resulting in blog-posts with seperate sites for each episodes. This came in handy for the google search function, because when you googled the name of my guest and "interview" the seperate blog-post page popped up immediately. It does not do so with the podbean site and that makes me wonder if it is possible to automatically create a blog post page from my external rss feed or through some other workaround. This would also help with google ads, because these sites could be the landing pages of specific ads. Thanks for help!Jan
18. I have a squarespace site as my main home page for my new podcast, but i use a dedicated podcast host (simplecast) to actually host my episodes and provide the rss feed. Most Podcast platforms (Apple, spotify, etc) simply require registering that feed, in order to get a show listed. However Google Podcasts, has no submission process, they just scrape sites and look for specific criteria. Namely that the home page url in the podcast feed points to a page that has a corresponding
tag of rel type "alternate" that has a url pointing to the feed. So they're effectively pointing at each other. That's their way of confirming association, and thus get listed on their service. However they require there only be ONE
tag of rel type "alternate". I've added the link tag with my feed via code injection to the head of my page. But Squarespace's Blog page is adding its own for the Blog RSS, which i don't want. There doesn't seem to be away to disable the blog rss feed via settings. Does anyone know how to remove that SS link tag via code injection script? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 19. Wondering how to change/update my podcast category for Apple, since they recently realigned all their categories? Any help much appreciated.
20. iTunes allows the inclusion of links in an episode description tag using the following format:

Apple

I have tried adding links in my Squarespace audio blog post description for iTunes but they get stripped out. I checked the RSS feed generated by Squarespace and noticed the following:

For all comments on today’s episode, please use this link.

Are the links being stripped because there is no
tags in the RSS feed? Has anyone had any success in adding links to their episode descriptions? And why does Squarespace add the
tag at the beginning of the description? It doesn't seem to do anything and could this be the reason the links are being stripped? Thanks
21. Hi,as the title says I want to have the 301 redirect for my old podcast feed (https://www.futurehistories.today/podcast-episoden?format=rss) kept in place even though I diable the blog that created the rss-feed once. I tried disabling the site and putting in a manual redirect (/podcast-episoden?format=rss -> https://futurehistories.podbean.com/feed.xml 301), but it didn't work. I need this because if I don't disable the old blog page it will still pop up in search results and I can't put in a redirect for the blog page if the blog page is still enabled (a bit like -><-).Any help is highly appreciated . BestJan
22. I did everything as described here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002267147-Transferring-a-podcast...but Podbean is telling me, that the 301 redirect isn't working. Why?
23. I uploaded the podcast and it plays in RSS feed. I tested it with putting my RSS feed in iTunes with "Subscribe to podcast." It shows the art and decription and title of episode, but whenever I click play, it will quickly run a load bar saying "Reading item..." and then nothing happens. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
24. Some of my podcast episodes are not streaming on Apple Podcasts. Apple support says it's because I need to enable HTTP HEAD and byte-range requests.
