  1. Hey folks, I've been putting my head through the drywall on this for a bit, and can't figure it out. I have a free trial currently, and have imported my WP site over into SS already. On that site, I have one page dedicated to each of my podcasts, where listeners can go to find old eps of that particular show. I'm trying to do the same thing in SS but I cannot figure out how. I don't want the archive text block, I'd like each show (blog post) to display on the parent page for the show, if that makes sense. So under the "Archives" menu on the main page, I'd like to have each show nested in there, and then when you click on a show from that dropdown, you can then see all the show posts (blogs) on that page. This seems doable, but I cannot figure it out. I get maybe halfway there (moving all relevant show posts to a page), but cannot get that page to display the posts I have moved.
  2. I want to embed two podcast sites on one page. I'm able to embed both in "edit" mode, but once I visit the site (https://www.crcfchurch.com/podcast-test) only one of the podcasts shows up. Help center cannot provide any assistance.
  3. Hi there! The latest episode of my podcast is posted, but the audio isn't playing on the site, and it's either not being discovered by podcast apps (Spotify / Overcast) or is displaying an "Episode Unavailable" error (Apple Podcasts - see attached screenshot). On Apple, it *is* showing that the episode exists. I took the audio down, and then reuploaded it, and that hasn't fixed the issue. I've tested the audio on my Mac, and it works just fine. I don't think this is an RSS issue, as it's showing up in Apple Podcasts, but I'm getting the error message. I'm at a loss, and would really like to get this episode up! Any help out there? Thanks!
  4. Site URL: https://chiroup.com/podcast I'm creating a podcast page and I want to change the "read more" text to "Listen Now" However, I have another blog page where I want to keep the "read more". How can I change the text just on my podcast page? PW: 1017
  5. Hey all! What podcasts are you currently creating/producing. Feel free to link to the site/recommend a specific episode!
  6. Site URL: https://gracebiblerichmond.org Our podcast works on Apple but the URL link generated by Squarespace apparently stopped working with Google and other podcast sites back in July 2022. Can anyone help me understand how to fix this? This is the URL: https://gracebiblerichmond.org/sermonarchive?format=rss Thank you.
  7. Site URL: https://chiroup.com/podcast Hi there, I am wanting to turn off showing the author and author profile on my podcast page. However, I have a blog page where I do want the author and author profile to show. When I turn off the toggles, it turns it off for both the podcast and blog page. Is there a way to turn it off just for the podcast page? PW: 1017
  8. Site URL: http://mamayouredoinggreat.com I am trying to add my Podcast Episode Player from Buzzsprout to my SS Website. Nothing is showing up, besides Script Disabled. Can someone help me please
  9. Site URL: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kate-show/id1337878734?mt=2 Hi! My client's podcast encountered a problem of "Playback Error" when trying to listen to the podcast via Apple Podcast. I checked with Google Podcast, Podchaser, Castbox, and encountered the same issue. However, they seem to work fine on Spotify. Backstory: Earlier this year, my client move her site from Squarespace 7.0 to Squarespace 7.1. Then just recently, she received many emails from her podcast listeners stating that all her episodes prior to January 2022 have a "playback" error on Apple Podcasts. We've contacted Apple, and after further review, they have been able to confirm that episode urls listed in the RSS feed have been deleted. See attached for one episode. Apple advised us to contact the hosting. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks!
  10. Site URL: https://speakoutloudnew.squarespace.com/podcast I'm new to adding a podcast to Squarespace and am wondering what is possible for a client site. They have an existing podcast and they want every past episode uploaded to the site as well as future episodes. They are hosted on Anchor. Is there a way to do this automatically? I don't understand if RSS can work this way. Thanks!
  11. Site URL: https://evolutionofbrilliance.squarespace.com/podcasts/ Hi there, I have a podcast page using a blog and blog summary set up. I am using tags and categories to feature info within the podcast (blog post) page but I don't want these as clickthrough's. I have found and tried various code snippets but I can't get any of these to work for me. Some help here would be most appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!!!
  12. Site URL: https://www.chumbo.org Hello! I'm having issues with embed podcasts on mobile and tablet. It doesn't respond well once resized. It appears to be underneath the background layer. Please see attached pic illustrating the issue. Any thoughts? Thank you
  13. Site URL: http://gots8r.com Hi! So I've created a blog page to load up episodes of my podcast, to use as the page the various podcast platforms will pull my episodes from. (gots8r.com) But I would prefer to also have a separate "Episodes" page, with individual links to each episode (via episode specific artwork). I have created an individual page for each episode, that I want to be accessible via the individual links on the "Episodes" page, but not listed on the public navigation bar. Is there a way to link to the "not listed" pages? (i.e. so I can use the link for each page on the "Episodes" page?) or do I have no choice but to use the blog page? I'm not at all computer/coding savvy, so I won't at all be offended if you explain to me like I'm five! Thanks in advance!
  14. Site URL: https://www.cheftimony.com/episodes Hi There, I've reached out for help via Squarespace on this issue, but because I'm entering code into a code block, they can't help. Here's what's happening: When I post a new episode blog the podcast script posts a-okay to the correct post. A week later we go to post a new episode/post, add the code block with the new podcast audio script, and that's when it gets shady. For some reason, the podcast audio, and just the podcast audio, image and copy on the post stay as it should, gets bumped back to the previous post from the week before. So basically in a nutshell....all the podcasts episodes audio are all off by one blog/episode post, which is obviously not intended. haha If you go to our episode page: https://www.cheftimony.com/episodes and go to each post, you can see that the incorrect podcast is posting for that particular post. I've also attached an image. We're using the podcast player called fusebox. It specifically says to take the script, copy it, and paste it into a code block, and all is good. Squarespace suggested that it may be an issue on Fusebox's end... Also an FYI, we are hosting the podcasts on blubrry, which then gets updated into Fusebox, and then we take that code and place it into squarespace. Could this be the issue? (My client set this up, so I'm not sure if it's the most efficient way to go about this...) Any help or explanation would be amazing, as we're pulling our hair out trying to figure out what is going on. Thanks so much!
  15. HI! I'm a building a site for a podcast. My goal is to enable listening to audio and reading a text at the same time, therefore I need to make my audio player move with the scrolling of the page. I have seen a couple of codes like this : #id { position: fixed; bottom: 0; right: 0; z-index: 999; } But nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thank you!
  16. Site URL: http://www.chrisbrock.uk I have a podcast that is not hosted on Squarespace. Each episode, I create a blog post on my Squarespace site, write a post and embed the episode. But I have to do this for every episode, and it's a lot of extra work that I could do without. Ideally, what I'd like is to have a page with a gallery of all episodes, that automatically updates each time there's a new episode published. Click on the episode artwork and it takes you to the external hosting site. I understand that Squarespace is keen to get people podcasting with its own service, but I'm not ready for that yet. Is it possible to do what I'm thinking of?

    PODCAST HELP!

Site URL: http://www.theberardo.com Hey friends, curious if there's a company or recommendation you all use to track PODCAST episode analytics with the RSS feed. I use a "page" to create each episodes but I'm looking to pull reports for ALL subscribers, listeners, etc across different podcast apps (Spotify, apple podcasts, etc). Anyone out there have recommendations?
  18. Curious if there are plans to support some of the new "Podcasting 2.0" podcast fields. Development of the Podcasting spec has started to evolve again over the last year. It would be amazing to have some of these available for my clients, particularly: Podping - real-time feed of updated podcasts so apps/indexes know immediately when a podcast is updated. Chapters - designate a JSON file of chapters in an episode Transcripts - link to a transcript files for accessibility and indexing of podcast content Funding - Link to a support/donate link for the podcast Locked Tag - to keep a feed from being copied/moved to another provider without permission Would love to hear if there are any plans for adding these or any features to Podcasting. Love having this option in Squarespace as I suggest the platform to my clients all the time because of how easy it is to start one.
  19. Site URL: https://risedigital.tech Hi there. I have two blog sections on my site. 1. Blog, where I want the images (mostly landscape screen shots) on the blog page to be 3:2 aspect ratio. 2. Podcast, where I want the images (entirely podcast-style album art) on the blog page to be 1:1 square aspect ratio. After changing formatting the respective blog pages 100 times (rough estimate) and my changes not 'sticking' I was able to determine that if I change the format of one blog (even though I do it on its own page, not globally in the styles interface), it oddly changes the format of the other, completely unrelated, blog. Assuming this is (bizarrely) intended behaviour and not a bug, does anyone know how to apply a specific aspect ratio to one blog page's images and not the other? Christian
  20. All, I have three blog collections on my website, hosted by Squarespace. Two are written blog collections, and one is a Podcast collection. For the past two years, I have been able to successfully click "edit" on any post in any of the three collections, and select "duplicate" at the bottom of the dialog box that appears, and use the subsequently duplicated post as a template for a new post. This has saved time in publishing content to my site. Last week, I started receiving an error. Whenever I click "duplicate" on any post in any of the collections, I get this message: "ERROR SAVING" "An error occurred while duplicating this item" My two written blog collections have 93 items, each, and my podcast collection has 96 items. I have attached a screenshot of the error message. I have also started a support ticket with Squarespace support. I hope to resolve this error soon, as it significantly impacts my workflow. Has anyone run across this error?
  21. Site URL: https://www.storytellerslive.org/ Hi! I am needing to have transcripts populate for podcast episodes and have added the below code via a code block and custom HTML on the page for my podcast episodes. The code seems to not be working until you refresh the page multiple times - you can see it live on this page -> https://www.storytellerslive.org/podcasts/2022/1/26/the-result-of-remembering-a-story-of-anxietychancey-thompson-ep-172 Is there something I can update on the code or implement it in another way to the page so that it shows the first time you land on the page? I have also tried using the code with the " <script src="https://app.podscribe.ai/static/js/embed.js"></script> " removed and it still has the same issue. Code being used:
  22. Hi all! I have a quick question. I have been hosting a podcast through my business website for almost three years. About three months ago, I noticed that my podcast “episode notes” were being cut off in Apple Podcasts as displayed below. I haven’t changed the way I write the audio content so checked previous episodes and they weren’t cut off as shown below. Now I’m limited to 200 characters, which is extremely difficult to do given the amount of information that I provide listeners. I was told that the cause would have to be in my RSS feed, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access my own RSS feed details so I can look for causes. Can someone please direct me to where to find this? Thank you so much for reading. Best, Jen
  23. Hi there, I use my site to host a podcast, uploading each new episode the usual way by creating a new blog post, adding an audio block, uploading the episode (MP3 file) and the RSS feed does the rest. I've uploaded several episodes now, but a piece of content in the first episode bugs me. If I was to go into that post and replace the MP3 file in the audio block with a corrected version, would that file seemlessly replace the original in all the locations the RSS feed sends it to? Or would this do something silly to the order of episodes and bump this one up to being the most recent in the feed? Thanks in advance for any responses!
  24. Site URL: http://www.smifsc.com/podcast So I'm trying to use an Embed block on a Blog parent page to display the Apple Podcast player. Apple claims on their page "The player is responsive. Its width will automatically expand to fit mobile and desktop layouts." However that doesn't seem to be true on my page. I want the scroll bar to go away and for the div/container to adjust to the size of the embedded content. On mobile it cuts off very small and is unusable. It does the same on desktop but is more usable. I've tried a little code injection in the style sheet but nothing so far has worked. Can someone help this iframe work better on our site? Thank you in advance! The embed code is: <iframe src="https://embed.podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/in-the-fields/id1588269214?itsct=podcast_box_player&amp;itscg=30200&amp;ls=1&amp;theme=auto" height="450px" frameborder="0" sandbox="allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation" allow="autoplay *; encrypted-media *;" style="width: 100%; max-width: 660px; overflow: hidden; border-radius: 10px; background: transparent;"></iframe>
  25. I have had a podcast on Podomatic for 4 years. If I switch to Squarespace for hosting how difficult is it to update all the places Podomatic sends our feed to? I dont want to start all over again. For example from Podomatic our podcast goes to Iheart Radio, Apple Podcasts, Deezer, Player FM and many more. If I switch to Squarespace will it update the RSS feed to those?
