  1. Site URL: https://cutthecraftpodcast.com Hey! I host my podcast with Squarespace, but our next episode exceeds the 160 mb limit. All the guide on the website says is "upload it to an external service and add its public URL" - the problem is, I have no idea what kind of external service to use, since it can't support dropbox or soundcloud files (in the audio block). I understand that there are podcast-specific hosting platforms, but the whole reason I went with squarespace was to not have to use one of those services. And if I do have to go with something like buzzsprout, then will they automatically start syndicating my show through their own things, confusing RSS feeds (as some of you may be able to tell, I barely know what I'm talking about so maybe this is just a bunch of gobbldey gook). Are there any alternative services where you can upload and store a large audio file in a 'https://...mp3' sort of format? Thanks, and apologies if this is an obvious question.
  2. Site URL: http://www.christschurchtesting.squarespace.com/sermon-archive I'm super new to Squarespace and want to change our blog summary page so that after each entry it says, "Listen Here" instead of "Read More." Could someone tell me how to make this change? I'm using the Hayden template version 7.0.
  3. I did everything as described here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002267147-Transferring-a-podcast...but Podbean is telling me, that the 301 redirect isn't working. Why?
  4. Site URL: https://wearebluecabin.com/clswpodcast Hi does anyone know if third party analytics will include podcast plays from within the website, or will they just pick up downloads via RSS? Presumably SS just sticks the third party analytics URL in front of the path for the audio file. So if you click 'play' on the audio block, presumably it triggers a play-count with the third party analytics (Blubrry free analytics) as it'll play the file via that modified URL? Thanks all,
  5. Site URL: https://jenny-young-ry38.squarespace.com/clswpodcast?format=rss Hi all, I've created a blog on a website to host a podcast. I've created the RSS feed (https://jenny-young-ry38.squarespace.com/clswpodcast?format=rss) and yet when I try and submit to Apple Podcasts Connect is just times out. Has anyone else come across this, and do you know the fix? The RSS feed itself seems fine. I've run it through a few third party RSS feed validators, and they come back with green ticks. I can even manually import the show into the Apple Podcasts app with no problem - it pulls in artwork, description and the media. I also had a go at submitting to Stitcher and it submitted fine and is now there on the Stitcher site (https://www.stitcher.com/show/the-creative-life-story-work-podcast) I'm at a bit of a loss - many thanks! Will
  6. Site URL: https://risedigital.tech Hi there. I have two blog sections on my site. 1. Blog, where I want the images (mostly landscape screen shots) on the blog page to be 3:2 aspect ratio. 2. Podcast, where I want the images (entirely podcast-style album art) on the blog page to be 1:1 square aspect ratio. After changing formatting the respective blog pages 100 times (rough estimate) and my changes not 'sticking' I was able to determine that if I change the format of one blog (even though I do it on its own page, not globally in the styles interface), it oddly changes the format of the other, completely unrelated, blog. Assuming this is (bizarrely) intended behaviour and not a bug, does anyone know how to apply a specific aspect ratio to one blog page's images and not the other? Christian
  7. Site URL: https://www.cowardspace.com/opheads Hello! So I run a website for a podcast, there's about ten episodes and each one requires its own 'episode page' (for research notes and so on) which I have been adding as I go. After fiddling around trying to find a way to format the main 'podcast page' so that the episodes are easy to navigate, it occurred to me that it would have been a much more simple move to add each 'episode page' to a Blog format, as the navigation options are a lot more easy to work with. I could create them all again from scratch, but I'm thinking their must be an easy way to either 'drag' or 'copy' the entirety of my 'normal web page' directly into the blog format to create 10 seperate 'blog pages' Is this an easy thing to achieve? Just curious Thanks :)
  8. Site URL: https://hitlikeagirlpod.com/episodes I'm switching my podcast episodes from the built in SS audio player to Megaphone's service, which gets pulled in through to each episode post through an iframe. Does this change require that I update my RSS feed to Megaphone's, or will SS pick up the audiofile from the iframe code? I have the business plan.
  9. Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have a 'share' button for a podcast? A client is used to a WP site which has an embeded site player from blubrry hosting, which looks : (not the actual one just an example) which has teh rss subscription button and share button etc. THe SS built in audio block is very plain in comparison : It can have the download option added but no share that I can see - am I missing something? If they want the RSS feed to update apple etc from this podcast they have to use this audio block to enable this to work so what options are there? Is the only option to put the RSS feed onto the host (blubrry) and embed their player? As it stands their podcast is on a WP site with the audio on blubrry which uses this embeded player (top pic). They want this to be a simple and easy process to create new episodes but the SS podcasting seems relatively fiddly to sort out in comparison...... Any advice/ tips would be welcome..TIA
  10. Site URL: https://www.adaytobeme.com I need some feedback for my site: A Day to be Me. We are a podcasting business and we focus on self-improvement and self growth. I am and author to my book : A Guide to Self-improvement and Self Growth. I designed this whole website and ALL of the content! I do book reviews as well.
  11. I am creating a site for someone who does podcasting. We need to be able to add their podcast audio to the blog article list page, so the user doesnt have to click into each article to listen to the next episode. Does anyone know of a way I can add audio or an embed code into the excerpt or another way to get audio or embed code to display on the blog list page?
  12. I have a squarespace site as my main home page for my new podcast, but i use a dedicated podcast host (simplecast) to actually host my episodes and provide the rss feed. Most Podcast platforms (Apple, spotify, etc) simply require registering that feed, in order to get a show listed. However Google Podcasts, has no submission process, they just scrape sites and look for specific criteria. Namely that the home page url in the podcast feed points to a page that has a corresponding <link> tag of rel type "alternate" that has a url pointing to the feed. So they're effectively pointing at each other. That's their way of confirming association, and thus get listed on their service. However they require there only be ONE <link> tag of rel type "alternate". I've added the link tag with my feed via code injection to the head of my page. But Squarespace's Blog page is adding its own for the Blog RSS, which i don't want. There doesn't seem to be away to disable the blog rss feed via settings. Does anyone know how to remove that SS link tag via code injection script? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 13. Hello! I am making a new website on squarespace 7.1. I currently have an already existing podcast that I publish with acast, and wanted to know if i could somehow sync that podcast to a page on my site, so that page autopopulates with photos, descriptions, etc. I know that spotify and apple podcasts use the RSS feed; is there a way to do this on squarespace as well? Thank you in advance everyone!
  14. HI! I'm a building a site for a podcast. My goal is to enable listening to audio and reading a text at the same time, therefore I need to make my audio player move with the scrolling of the page. I have seen a couple of codes like this : #id { position: fixed; bottom: 0; right: 0; z-index: 999; } But nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Thank you!
  15. Hi, I have a website for a podcasting company that produce multiple series. It seems that Squarespace's podcast templates are designed just for single-series but I need a template for multiple-series. Can anyone recommend a template solution or some design tricks that would serve my purpose?
  16. Site URL: http://www.tommybowman.com I have selected the episode type "trailer" but Apple Podcasts doesn't display it as such. Anyone know how?
  17. Site URL: https://themeasureofanepisode.squarespace.com I use Podtrac as a third party podcast download tracker via the "Podcast Analytics URL" field in the Podcasting upload section of our blog post. Currently, Podtrac is reporting we get an average of 20 listens per episode. However, the Squarespace RSS Subscribers Analytics is reporting around 3,500 subscribers per day, which is a giant discrepancy. I understand a download and a subscriber isn't the same thing. But, what could be the reason for such a discrepancy?
  18. Site URL: https://meningitis-foundation.squarespace.com/podcast-stories I am hoping someone can help. I am loading podcasts for the first time and ultimately I need a single page to feature 13 podcasts. After looking around for different types of solutions there seems to be 2 solutions that I can see. https://meningitis-foundation.squarespace.com/podcast-stories pa33word Note...please ignore the long excerpts, it's there so the client can cull the content down 😉 Option 1 – Set it up using a blog Problem = This takes you to individual detail pages to listen to each podcast. If this is the only solution, is there a way to play the podcast in the initial landing page rather than on 3 separate blog pages? Option 2 – Set the page up manually and use audio blocks. This is very manual so I wondered if there was another way to listen to the podcasts all on the same page. Here's hoping some clever person can help!! Thanks in advance 😉
  19. Hi, I have the problem, that when I submit my podcast to https://itunesconnect.apple.com/ I see HTML-Tags within my description of my podcast. Within the Squarespace input field for that description, I ensured that no line breaks or any further formation is included within the description text. Anyhow, when I open the RSS-Feed the description Tag always contains a CDATA block followed by a HTML Paragraph-Tag. Thats something I can't influence, and it makes the description look very ugly. Can someone help or approve that I'm doing something wrong or is it a known issue?
  20. Site URL: https://www.abundantbeans.com/ I have a client (https://www.abundantbeans.com/) and they are wanting to combine 2 of their businesses into 1 - creating a new webpage that they've had created on WordPress. Part of that is moving the podcast postings over to there. Is there a way to do a re-direct it so we keep making the blog posts on squarespace but they are able to transfer everything over to there?
  21. Site URL: http://funtimeprogram.com I recently started a podcast hosted on my Squarespace site at http://funtimeprogram.com. I have a blog set up at http://funtimeprogram.com/episodes and have used the RSS feed at http://funtimeprogram.com/episodes?format=rss I added the podcast to Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Podcast Addict, etc and the first episode got added perfectly, but our second episode hasn’t updated on any of the podcast sites and was published on August 9th so should have gone out to the podcast apps by now. Is there anything that I need to do to get these podcast apps to update with the latest episode? When I view the RSS feed directly it includes both the first and second episode so that seems to be working correctly.
  22. Site URL: http://incidentalmythology.com Hey all. I'm a co-host on a podcast, which is being hosted on a separate site than my Squarespace. However, I wanted to make sure that people who go to my website can see the podcast and even listen. Ideally, I'd like to be able to have the RSS feed from my podcast (hosted by Seriously Simple Podcasting on a Wordpress site) tied to my site, so it auto-updates with new episodes uploaded to the feed. Is this at all possible? Current website: http://incidentalmythology.com Podcast RSS Feed: https://www.alt-ac.uk/feed/podcast I don't have a page made yet to host the podcast on my site yet - have looked into RSS blocks which doesn't seem to work. Have also tried to make a new blog with the RSS feed from the podcast, but no posts appear so not sure what to do there. Thanks!
  23. Site URL: http://www.takebackyourcareerpodcast.com Hi all, I am launching an all-new podcast in the coming weeks. I've been helped with plenty of custom CSS from members of this community and now I'd like to get general feedback on the site before it launches. If you see a design issue or have any other general thoughts or opinions please do not hesitate to share. I am open to all feedback. Thank you very much! Adam password: boots135 Note: on mobile the header or hero image and background behind "listen on" buttons have a colored box around them which is to be removed once I update the file.
  24. Can someone help me to write the custom code to embed Apple Podcast on my sute. Here is the embed code that i took from Apple, but this cannot be embedded.. <iframe allow="autoplay *; encrypted-media *; fullscreen *" frameborder="0" height="450" style="width:100%;max-width:660px;overflow:hidden;background:transparent;" sandbox="allow-forms allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-storage-access-by-user-activation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation" src="https://embed.podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/of-hope-and-perseverance/id1539296964"></iframe>
  25. Site URL: https://21stcenturychurch.co.uk I'm looking at updating my website to a new 7.1 template. I know the issues of losing data etc and setting up a new subscription. Is it possible to keep all my podcasts with the new site?
