  1. Hello and welcome to marketing your business on Squarespace! Are you interested in learning about building and engaging with your audience? The Squarespace Community team invites you to join us for one of our Growing Your Audience webinars. In this expert-led webinar, you'll learn the basics of setting yourself up for success with SEO and tracking your performance. During the webinar, you'll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have with our team standing by to assist! The webinar is free, yet space is limited. Register now to secure your seat: Sign me up As a note, these webinars are for the latest version of the platform, version 7.1. For those on our legacy platform, version 7.0, we offer a separate webinar on-demand. While your site's editor will look slightly different if you are on version 7.0, most of the webinar content is relevant to both versions as features like SEO, Email Campaigns and Analytics are identical from version 7.0 to 7.1. We'll see you there!
  2. Site URL: https://www.palazzodelgolfo.com I logged into google analytics and saw this insight "Your site performs below average for 375x812" I assume this is on mobile? How do I fix this? What exactly is the issue? Am planning a site redesign at some point anyway once I get some professional photos taken of my vacation home.
  3. I have noticed odd behaviour on Brine templates, on iOS 13.2.2. It looks like this: Text links work as expected, e.g. hover effects, and the linked page loads quickly. Buttons, however, suffer a delay when clicked before the hover effect kicks in, and then another delay before the linked page starts to load. Sometimes, the button shows clicked state but nothing happens until another click. I can see that on some of these clicks, Safari using location services (location services arrow goes solid for a second when the button is clicked). This happens on my site: https://www.wayfarenursing.com as well as other Brine-based sites that I've tried out. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
  4. The new SEO tools are nice but since page speed is one of the most relevant aspects you should do something about slow loading. Just a few examples of what Googles PageSpeedInsights tell me: Eliminate render-blocking resources. Estimated savings: 4.19 s Details: Resources are blocking the first paint of your page. Consider delivering critical JS/CSS inline and deferring all non-critical JS/styles. URL Size Potential Savings /ik/_PbYZD3ye….js(use.typekit.net) 8 KB 780 ms …scripts-compressed/common-526b9c5…-min.en-US.js(assets.squarespace.com) 424 KB 3,330 ms …156…/site.css?&filterFeatures=false(static1.squarespace.com) 51 KB 1,380 ms Can I do anything myself?
  5. Hey, I just got a message from a client ( a photographer) "....I thought was odd because I limited EVERY file to less tham 740kb at 3000px..This file was showing as 2500px and was saying it was 1.5mb So then I recompressed it and made it 2500px sent it through tiny JPG and got it to 442kb..I uploaded it to Squarespace and now its showing as 666kb…SO squarespace in resizing my images has made them ALL larger which is making the site fail speed test which is certainly going to effect my performance. " That sounded strange so I ran another test myself (screenshot attached) 1) example File I received 2500x2500 with 1.5MB and after compression 442KB 2) Double-checking the compression on tinyjpg.com and Photoshop Webexport 3) I uploaded the file to Squarespace and right-click downloaded it agin and the file was 666kb Seeme the difference can be even bigger. I'm very concerned. thanks for yor help. PS: What do you think @paul2009 or @tuanphan I know Google Page Speed and Squarespace are not best friends but what't the best pratice here?
  6. Hi everyone! I am fairly new to Squarespace. Our company is currently creating a new website, which is basically just a front to our cloud based software. The website is being run on squarespace servers, but our software is run on our own servers. This means if our servers are taken down for maintenance etc. we could probably monitor that the server is up or down and show it to users trying to log on through our squarespace website. Has anyone done this before? Is there any code we can use to monitor if the site is up or down and show it through text or image on our site? Any help would be great, thanks!
