  1. I am trying to find a way to make fulfillment of product easier than having to sift through all the order invoices for deliveries that are made the same day. Right now we print each invoice and then have to sit there and count up how many of each product that has been order for each week, then go pull it. We would like to be able to print a list of all the products added up such as a list that say 5 of product A and 8 of product B. Then we can separate out the products once pulled. Is this possible using Squarespace or are there other ways that anyone has gone about doing something like this?
  2. Is it possible to add orders manually to my order system, for example if someone emails/phones me or asks in person to order a product? Would be helpful to keep track of orders, stock levels and finances!

We print these out, pull the item and then the printed invoice goes in the box with the item to ship to customer. It would make life so much easier to find and pull the product if there was a picture of the item on the invoice. It would also look more professional. thanks

I did not submit it, and it included [test] in the subject line. Test mode is and has been off on my website. Is this a glitch on the side of Squarespace/Stripe by chance? Has this ever happened with anyone else?
  5. I sell services to schools in the UK and its extremely rare that a school will pay for a service with a credit card or PayPal. I like the products page and Squarespace but the inability to automate bookings is holding my business back. Most UK schools request an invoice before making a BACS payment. How can I take orders/bookings for my services without charging or by bypassing checkout? I have seen the work around for charging services for free but this will cause confusion and I certainly don't want schools receiving invoices suggesting they don't have to pay. Any solutions? Anything being worked on? I'd love to be able to process payments like a shop but that's just not the way the education sector does things and that won't be changing anytime soon. Any help regarding this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Antony
  6. Hi! I actually have a question for fellow e-commerce store owners here. I've been running an online t-shirt company for almost 3 years now. Basically, its just a graphic design tee dropshipping store. In those 3 years, I was using a 3rd party fulfillment company called Red Stag here in the US for bulk orders - and for the most part that has been working well. For smaller orders, I do the usual direct to customer dropshipping set-up, and if its bigger orders from retailers, I work with Red Stag. However, fairly recently (give or take the last 3 months) I was keen on seeing if I could actually start doing customized shirts, which would require me to drop my supplier (as they don't offer than option) and take everything in-house. I was wondering what software (for tracking, inventory, etc) are y'all using for your stores that are self-managed? I could still stick with Red Stag but from a financial pov, it only makes sense with bulk orders. Would love some input and feedback regarding this - any comments at all is highly appreciated. Tysm!

Instead of asking, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" it asks, "What will you do when you group up?" We've received great feedback on the book, finding it strikes a nerve with a lot of people...in a good way. We're also distributing to a handful indie booksellers around the US. I do marketing for a living and we acquired 6,800 visitors to the site. We converted many, but without knowing why people didn't buy the book, I'm trying to figure that out. Certainly some of it is that the book isn't for them (or doesn't move them), the price point, having to pay shipping, not being from a known publisher, etc. Was curious if the Squarespace community might take a look and let me know if there is anything that you find is a turn-off or that wouldn't make you want to buy the book. We posted the full book online, as it really needs a way to be seen and read before buying. I know that helped sell books as well as likely inhibit others from purchasing it. They are a textiles manufacturing business who currently have a Shopify site set up to process orders but their main site is on Squarespace. We want to transition everything to Squarespace but having some issues. Is there a way to create a shop page for custom orders and invoice the client instead of having an auto-payment option? If this was to be set up through a form, is there a third party platform you could recommend to auto-process invoices being sent out from an order form instead of a product page? I'm struggling to find a workaround without linking to the existing Shopify site and would love some support with it! Thanks!

  10. Hi, I'm wondering how I could set a default "Ship To" address (this would be the address of our physical shop) for local pickup orders. The use case scenario would be: A customer places an order on our Squarespace store for local pickup. A default "Ship To" address would be populated with our physical shop's address With a default Ship To address, local pickup orders would be exported/synced to Shipstation Does anyone know how this would be done? It would be greatly appreciated that way we can continue to do all of our order fulfillment through Shipstation without our employees needing to have logins to both Shipstation and Squarespace. We would setup an automation rule in Shipstation to tag all local pickup orders (those with our shop's address as the "ship to" address) so that we can fulfill the orders separately and have them ready for pick up instead of purchasing a shipping label.

  12. (This became a long post, so I highlighted questions in bold.) Like any small shop, there will be times that I'll need to suspend ordering. There is an old thread that is locked on this topic. I've also looked at the SS help page, which had a chart about the SEO visibility (https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022365512). It seems the various options - making it private again, adding passwords, etc. - all have a negative SEO impact in that those pages become no longer visible to SEO. Am I interpreting that correctly? Does that mean that the site 'loses ranking' (at whatever rate that occurs) during the time it's not visible? Ideal solution - able to prevent orders without restructuring the site. It would be ideal for users to be able to browse (so they can be thinking about what they want to buy) but not be able to Add to Cart. I.e., the button is either disabled with a custom message above it, or clicking the button results in a custom message that the shop isn't taking orders for x days and doesn't add the item to the cart. Is there an elegant solution for this? Poor solution - try to catch the user's attention with loud banners, to inform them of delays, but don't prevent ordering There doesn't seem to be a way to customize the checkout page with text, e.g., to add a loud banner stating delays in fulfilling orders. There is no easy way to add a loud banner on all product pages at once, stating delays. I could move the Store to Not Linked, but some products are featured or linked in other parts of the site, so that's not a good option because they can still go directly to products and order. Since galleries are structurally different from Stores, I doubt there's an easy way to move products from a store to a gallery without losing a bunch of info that would have to be re-entered when they're moved back to the store, right? Adding a text block above the shop header doesn't help, in that there are various links published that go directly to specific product pages. Is there a way to implement even this inelegant solution? 302 redirect? I read the help page on this https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815308-URL-redirects The scenario I'm thinking of is: Create a temporary page that's labeled Shop at the top, states that it's temporarily closed and when to check back, and has a few pictures on it for interest. But it's just a static page, goes nowhere. Any time I need to suspend, 302 redirect the mydomain.com/shop to mydomain.com/fakeshop When the suspension is over, delete the 302 Pros Relatively simple to add and delete a 302 Maintains SEO ranking - correct? Cons Would need to update images on the fake shop from time to time/no big deal Customers can't see available products during the suspension Anything else? Questions When I redirect /shop to /fakeshop, are all the products under /shop also inaccessible? If a product highlight is on my home page and a user clicks it, will they still go to the product page and be able to buy even though /shop is redirected? (I'm following the standard URL format, e.g., all products are mydomain.com/shop/p/productname.) If not, where would they go - hopefully not a 404? Would I have to 302 redirect each individual product page? Any suggested time limits on how long a 302 can be in place without a negative impact? I.e., can it be in place for a month? Other solution Is there another solution I've missed? Thanks for any and all suggestions and help!

When in mobile view, I would love to see the images on my portfolio website (https://www.elisabethdeim.com) ordered the same way as in desktop view. Currently the images are ordered column by column, but I would like to see them ordered row by row (see image below). I tried to use this code https://www.rebeccagracedesigns.com/blog/reorder-blocks-on-mobile-squarespace-7-1, but didn't get it working for my problem. Is there any way in CSS to replace a single image block with another? Like: image block 2 shows image block 14, image block 3 shows image block 4,...   14. For the last several weeks, I have been experiencing extremely slow response times on the web-based order page (ie: yoursite.squarespace.com/config/commerce/orders). It often takes 30-60 seconds to get a response the first time I do any particular action (initial list display, display an order, mark as fulfilled, etc.). After that, it works normally (ie: the second order I display loads quickly) -- for a while. After several quick loads, I get another long delay. This behavior is the same on both a Mac we use and a Windows box (using the latest Chrome). I popped open the Chrome developer tools and the request that is slow is to the tracing.squarespace.com/traces/otlp/v0.6 endpoint - everything else is as quick as you might expect. This (mis)behavior only occurs on the web interface, not the mobile app. Has anyone else run into it and found a workaround? It seems to have started sometime after the new interface was deployed.
  15. Site URL: http://www.enjoysnacks We have started using discount codes in our store for expos and promotional events. I have noticed that customer information (billing information) is missing for those orders whose order total is $0. Apparently, Squarespace thinks that shipping information and billing information is the same thing and that customer information for orders of $0 is not necessary. From a marketing perspective, not collecting the information of people placing orders is questionable. Many of our products are ordered as gifts so the billing and shipping information are different. Also, this means that only one email notification is sent out to just the recipient. This means that the person who placed the order is out of the loop for their order. I'm surprised that no one else has encountered this error. I have never seen an e-commerce system not collect the information of the person placing the order.

I'm trying to obtain/send the "order ID" from my site's shopping orders in the new "Customer Email Notifications" editor, but so far its impossible...i require said IDs to attach them in the notification email in order to use the Squarespace API to obtain each order's data (purchase information: article, price, customer-email, etc) and store them in our database. I used to be able to do it by simply adding a command <<{order.id}>> on the confirmation email code in the old editor: Is there a way to achieve this now that the editor is changing?

Problem 1 When the width of the page is getting close to changing to mobile the text is too big and gets split over two lines. Can I make the site change to mobile sooner so the images don't stay in four columns and get too small? Problem 2 In mobile, the image is huge! Can I make the images be in two columns, rather than one? so 2 images over 2 lines. Thank you in advance!
  19. How do you deal with partial shipments? I have some items coming from Printful, and some items I am fulfilling myself. In this case, how do you notify the customer about partial shipments and tracking?
  20. Is there a way to partially refund an imported order? I am creating orders in using POST https://api.squarespace.com/{api-version}/commerce/orders and it appears an imported order only has the "Mark Refunded" button for refunding the entire order instead of "Issue Refund" that is available on a non-imported order.

Site URL: https://www.4couture.com/ hi there, I've got a SS site up and running recently for end users and it's great however, I'd like to set up a large store (behind a password) for our existing business contract clients, so they can browse their catalogues and make an order however, we accept a Purchase Order at the time of ordering and then we invoice them on credit terms. So we don't want to take any money via the SS shop but rather just send them an order confirmation and we would receive their order request. Does SS handle this or is there any way I can 'fudge' it so it could work? thanks :)
  22. I have a client who is launching an online game which is hosted on another platform. The purchase for the game will be via SS as a digital product. We want to ensure that once the game is purchased, the customer only has access to it for 10 days. This is the tricky part I'm facing. Ideally, in the order confirmation, we would be able to include an automatically generated URL or code which the developer can then allow access to. Anyone know if this is possible? Or have any ideas on an alternative solution? TIAπŸ™‚
