  1. Site URL: https://libbyconnolly.com/info Hello! Does anyone know how to create a custom nav where the menu items can be fixed into the page's corners? https://libbyconnolly.com/info I found this tutorial for the top nav, https://www.itssevenone.com/tutorials-for-squarespace-71/second-menu-squarespace, but anytime the page is resized the links all overlap/ stack on top of each other. I can't get them to stay fixed in place. This is the code I'm using from the above tutorial: .header-layout-branding-center-nav-center .header-title-nav-wrapper { flex-basis:100%!important; align:center!important; height:5vw; margin-top:-2vw; padding-bottom:1vw} .header-title-logo img { margin-bottom:-8.5%!important; margin-top:4vw} .header-nav-item:nth-child(2){ margin-left: 75vw!important; } Any help is much appreciated!! Thank you so much!
  2. Site URL: http://www.taupestudios.com Hi everyone, I have a problem with my navbar on mobile. Whenever I scroll back up on my website, the navbar is "sliding" downwards (I would like it to be fix and not move). I have tried injecting this code as suggested by a friend, but nothing happened... Any suggestions? <script> function removeEventListeners(element, listenerMap) { Object.keys(listenerMap).forEach(function (name) { var listeners = listenerMap[name]; listeners.forEach(function (object) { if (name == 'scroll') { element.removeEventListener(name, object.listener); } }); }); } removeEventListeners(window, getEventListeners(window)); </script>
  3. Site URL: http://s15.squarespace.com/guitar-kids-a-lesson-1 Hi Community! Can you help? I'd like to control the height of my nav bar (header) more precisely between Desktop, Tablets and Mobile. If I look at www.apple.com and youtube.com, then I notice that the height of their nav bar remains constant when I drag the browser window from desktop size to mobile size. But with my SquareSpace 7.1 site, the nav bar height does not remain constant while I drag the browser window smaller or larger. How would one achieve a consistent height for the nav bar, as with Youtube and Apple, across devices / window sizes ? My own attempt at CSS (see below) works to some degree, but only at specific, static window sizes, but not when I manually drag the browser window left and right. The height of the nav bar keeps shifting as the window size increases or decreases. The same applies to the logo, text and burger bar inside the nav bar, which also shifts when the window size shifts (see screenshots). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you kindly. /* ----------MY ATTEMPT AT CSS TO KEEP THE NAV BAR HEIGHT CONSISTENT ACROSS ALL WINDOW SIZES AND DEVICES------------------- */ // CSS FOR TABLET AND MOBILE // @desktop: ~"only screen and (min-width: 1025px)"; @mobile: ~"only screen and (max-width: 767px)"; @tablet: ~"only screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 1024px)"; /* ----------------------------- */ // HEADER HEIGHT - LESSON 1 - DESKTOP // @media @desktop { #collection-5ece5287d9f131439a163282 { #header .header-inner { padding-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 15px; } .header-announcement-bar-wrapper { margin-top: -15px; height: 90px !important; } } } // HEADER HEIGHT - LESSON 1 - MOBILE // @media @mobile { #collection-5ece5287d9f131439a163282 { #header .header-inner { margin-top: -15px; } .header-announcement-bar-wrapper { margin-top: -9px; height:80px !important; } } } // HEADER HEIGHT - LESSON 1 - TABLET // @media @tablet { #collection-5ece5287d9f131439a163282 { #header .header-inner { margin-top: -5px !important; } .header-announcement-bar-wrapper { margin-top: 0px; height:80px !important; } } }
  4. Hey guys! I used the following code to have the hamburger menu nav on my 7.1 site: .header-burger { display:flex!important} .header--menu-open .header-menu {opacity: 1!important;visibility: visible!important;} .header-nav, .header-actions {visibility:hidden!important} It works well, but I would like two menus navigation: On desktop: 1) a normal menu navbar with the first 4 page links 2) the rest of the page links under the hamburger menu bar. On mobile: everything under hamburger menu bar. Is it even possible on squarespace 7.1? thank you 🙂
  5. Site URL: https://www.aksm.org/brooks Our designer doesn't like the color of the text on this page and after thinking about it, we don't believe we can change the color of the nav. bar on a single page so we are just trying to remove it unless the color change is an option. We tried inserting codes we found on the forum but non have worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  7. Site URL: https://therare.la site: https://therare.la password: rarity Hello - I'm really close to getting my site done but I need to figure out how to move the subnav dropdown so that the top border of it is flush with the bottom border of the main navigation bar. I can do this by adding CSS to move it downward, but the problem is that the subnav only appears when the top level nav item is being hovered. Adding this extra space makes it so that when I try to mouse down to the subnav menu, it disappears before the mouse can actually hover any subnav items. Perhaps the clickable area of the top level nav item must be augmented - how can I circumvent the issues I'm having to achieve the desired result? Here is a reference site that behaves as intended https://cookies.co/
  8. Site URL: https://eddrobertson.com Hi. How do I make my websites navigation appear below my site logo. It's currently hidden away behind a menu burger icon. I'm using the Indigo Template. thanks Ed

  11. Hello, In 7.2, the nav bar on blog pages must follow the same color theme as the blog's body. Sitewide we have black nav bar + white body with black text, pretty standard. Unfortunately on blog pages this means it's white body + white nav bar, and this is a problem because our logo is white so it's lost in the white nav bar. Tried this already to no avail: #collection-5ea0ceff2e2abb13b38daf00 .header-announcement-bar-wrapper { background-color: #000000; } I can puzzle my way through CSS but am at a loss right now. Please help! Thank you

  17. I'm trying to edit the spacing of the drop down items in my nav. I reached out to support and they said it's not an option but I could custom code it. Currently they are bunched together and it's hard to see the difference between which page you're clicking on. Would also be great to add a highlight option where the page you hover over highlights. See attached for screenshot of current dropdown. Super beginner with custom code over here!
  18. Site URL: https://sandralynnallendesign.squarespace.com/ Hi, could someone help me with a CSS solution to move the logo image in header closer to the navigation bar? I'd like the left-justified logo image and right-justified navbar in heading to line up / align with the content width of 77. (Or close to it. I can adjust content width, but just as long as the edge of the logo and edge of the navbar align directly with the content as pictured below) Thanks so much for your help! https://sandralynnallendesign.squarespace.com/ Password: 1234

Currently my nav bar includes links for "home" "team" "contact" and "shop" I'd like to change the nav link for "shop" from text into an image. 20. Hi, I'd like to learn how code or advice for how to lower my navigation bar to be in line with the company name text in the logo. I would like your help please in seeing if it is possible to format this for a version 7.1 desktop. 22. Site URL: http://gregorylassale.com Hello again, Another question for you coding pros. I have the nav bar styled as Spotlight (all menu items change color except for the one hovered over). I'd like to do the same thing with the header branding i.e. all the nav bar items to change color when hovering over the branding with the same smooth transition. How can I achieve that ? Thanks in advance!
  23. I’d really like to have sidebar navigation on my website using Avenue. The reason I like Avenue is the ability to display single, thumbnails images that you can click to expand further on the project, whereas Wells is only a gallery. I was wondering (if it’s possible) if anyone has a code to inject into the Avenue theme that would move the top bar navigation links to the side similar to Wells. edit: Wells would be perfect if it functioned similar to Avenue, if there’s a way to not be forced to use a Gallery and have a similar thumbnail page link option like Avenue..that would be great too
  24. Site URL: https://www.visionarydesignbuild.com/ I am trying to figure out how to line up the top of my nav folders to the bottom of my nav bar.
  25. Site URL: https://www.fourmens.squarespace.com/home-page I'm working on a site for a local hardware store, which is one of 3 stores owned by 3 owners together which all use the same "Fourmens Farm Home" name. Since there are 3 stores, I currently have one main home page & just beneath the background header (which incidentally contains no Sqsp text, only spacers), I give them the button option to choose which store they (the customer) would like to visit. The main home page has the navigation set currently to not display (.Header {display: none !important;} because it interferes with the look of the main page. However, I want the main home page below the 3 buttons to continue with information for the largest store (rather than making them load another page). Is there a way to make the navigation bar appear by hovering over the main home page background image (no Sqsp text, only spacers on main banner) so that it could appear for those looking and needing it (by hovering over the background image - perhaps instinctively) to go elsewhere in the largest store, but otherwise it would remain hidden so as to not disrupt the appearance of the main home page. Bottom line: Main banner in background; header on main home page set to hide navbar for appearance sake; no Sqsp text, only spacers on top of main background image; would like the navbar to appear by hovering over the background image so as the customer mouses over the main banner, they see the navbar appear at the top of the screen enabling them to navigate away from & to other pages for that specific store. site: fourmens.squarespace.com, password: joyful1
