  1. Hey guys, I'm trying to optimise our blog post headline styles for google (picture 1 "Hochzeitsinspirationen: Nachhaltige…"). We're using template "Skye". The idea usually is that the blog post title should be recognised as headline 1 / h1. Of course! The problem is that apparently all the main blog post titles in this template – which seems to be made for blogging – are assigned "h2" by default. (picture 3_blog post title h2) I can't change it. (I checked the headlines with web developer: picture 2) I could repeat the headline in the following text box and assign it "h1", but I assume there must be i better solution. Doubling can't be it just to have it as h1. (picture 4_headline repeated in text box & 5_h1_recognised) So my question is: How can i get my blog post titles to be recognised as headline 1 / h1 …? Or is changing the template the only way? But like I said, it seems like this template is purposely made for blogging and Squarespace tries to cater to Google. Is there a bigger picture behind the blog post titles being h2 and I'm just not getting it? Thanks for your help.
  2. Hi, I am using Squarespace version 7.1. I want to create a slideshow of full bleed images with the SAME headlines / text but the image changes in the background. At the moment I can only either add: A "headline" section with full bleed image and text on top or A "gallery" section with a slideshow of full bleed images without text. Is there a workaround for this? If not I would like to downgrade from version 7.1 and use an existing template that gives me the option to do this. Website is middl.io and password is staging only ThanksHannah
  3. I have a new design up and running with the Flatiron template, and I noticed that when I switch to mobile view, the "headline 3" block gets jumbled. Any clue on how to resolve this? Thanks! www.mwaltonstudio.com
  4. Hello! I'm trying to figure out how to add a persistent (that is, non-changing) headline and a button over a gallery slideshow. Here’s the site: https://cyan-oarfish-gbna.squarespace.com (password: regan)It’s the slideshow at the top. Here’s the effect we’re trying to recreate: https://www.danareedyhomes.com/ Appreciate any help!!!
  5. I have quite the peculiar problem... First of all I want to say that this is a very important issue for my client, If I can't find a way to do this it is not going to be good.. Its really a simple thing, but I don't know if square space will support it. They want the text of the banner of the homepage to have a special format and they want it aligned to the left. I've got that part figured out: // funky rules to make the banner text look right on the homepage #IDoftheHomepageBanner { .desc-wrapper { float: left; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline; } .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(1) { font-size: 48px; text-transform: none; font-weight: bold; } .desc-wrapper p > strong { color: #004a88; font-size: 48px; font-weight: bold; letter-spacing: normal; } .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(4), .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(5) { text-transform: none; color: #004c8a !important; letter-spacing: normal; } } However, this presents a problem that they really don't like... when the page is expanded the text stays all the way off to the left. The image that they have for the homepage banner has a person in the middle/right, they want the text to "not fly off into no man's land" way far out to the left, but to still stay to the left... Kind of hard to explain. Here is the website I am rebuilding, they want it to look just like this banner. As you can see, when you expand the page the text follows, until you hit a certain point. When you hit that point it stays stuck against the banner image, but not all the way to the left of the page. Almost as though there is an invisible vertical border the text is stuck to. Anything you can tell me sure would help. I thought maybe somehow if it's possible to have two columns in the banner you could then align the text to the right of the left column.. but even that would present problems. I'm really at quite the impasse. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi all, I want to change the font on my Moshka template. Its the heading 2 style and i want to change it to a webfont that I have downloaded. I am not familiar with using CSS code AT ALL! and was wondering if anyone has the code for that, that I could simply copy and paste it in to the CSS section and away I go? Would be massively appreciated if anyone could help! Thanks Kerry
  7. Hi all, I am using the Bedford template but I found some issue that I cannot change the text alignment of the headline. Currently, it is just centered but I heard it does need any custom code for this (I am not programmer). Can you help me how to do it in this case?
  8. Here's my URL; https://grey-rectangle-kra2.squarespace.com/config/design/styles I want to have header number 1 ('For the love of words.) in white, and the second header at the bottom of the page (Make an Enquiry / Become a Contributor) in black so that they both stand out against their respective backgrounds. But every time I change one it changes the other. Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance
