  1. Hi there! I'd like to set up Google Analytics event tracking on a form submission button and other buttons that are not related to e-commerce. What is the best way to do that with code injection? I've been using Google Tag Manager with my previous site, and I know how to create G.A. event tracking there. Installing GTM was my first option, but Google's documentation says that the second part of the code should go immediately after the <body> opening tag, and the squarespace code injection only gives me the option to add it to the footer (I believe it means just before closing the </body> tag). So I'm not sure it's going to work fine. Has anyone here done it?
  2. We connected Squarespace to our Google Analytics property using the plug in in Squarespace. Once we did it though we realized that transactions were not tracked and so we put a code in the code injection section, to record transactions in Analytics. Everything is working properly now but this set up doesn’t allow us to keep track on analytics of the products purchased. We can see a transaction but we can’t see which were the products in the basket. In the previous version of the website tracking was also set up with the automatic plug-in in Squarespace with no need for a code injected in the thank you page and the client had track of all the different products. Our question therefore is: Is it normal that connecting Analytics to Squarespace with the plug-in transactions are not tracked? If not, what’s the issue here? If instead this is something normal, how can we keep track of the products purchased on Analytics?
  3. I only have the business account and not the full commerce buildout. I was trying to figure out if any Yelp users who visited our website (we don't have a physical location) actually bought anything. It looks like Google Analytics is showing that all the purchases came from secure.squarespace.com/referral and not from any of the linked traffic referrals like Yelp or a website my friend advertises our coffee on. It seems unlikely that no one coming from the other links purchased anything. Is this a consequence of not having direct Squarespace analytics and Google Analytics somehow only recognizing purchases as "referred from" the checkout page? Just trying to do some quick calculations on where I might get some more bang for my traffic buck.
  4. Hello, Where can I find the link to the Confirmation Page? I need to set up a goal on Google Analytics. Thanks, Alex
  5. I have 2 domain names on my site - https://ligocreative.com is the new one, https://lilanigoonesena.com is the old one. Both URLs will remain as I slowly transition my business to the new one. But when I go to create a new property for https://ligocreative.com on Google Analytics, it asks me to put the Google Tag Manager code into the External API Keys but the old one is there. Do I replace it? Leave it? Use both? I want GA to track both URLs, is that possible? Thanks
  6. Hello, We use a Content Management System called E-tapestry, part of Blackbaud. E-tapestry generates forms for donations, registration etc. in HTML which we then embed onto our Squarespace site. However, we don't know how to track activity or conversions from these forms - which would be really useful because it means we'd be able to judge how well our google ads are performing by the number of conversions (forms completed/submitted/donations made/registrations received) that they generate. Thank you so much in advance, Claire
  7. Hello Most of my website are blog pages. Google analytics does not identify those pages by their readable URLs but by machine generated character strings, as in the screenshot. Is there a setting somewhere for this? Thank you
  8. Hey guys, This might be a basic problem but I want to enter the code under into the website custom page since it would allow me to collect data from the website into google analytic. However, it keeps saying that the there's a 'SYNTAX ERROR ON LINE 1' and I don't know what is the problem since this a copy that Google Analytic gaved me, I don't think I can remove something. Please help me :)
  9. Does anyone know how to tie and track a paid search keyword to the lead submission? I want to know what leads are using what keywords. I understand I can set up multiple landing pages, but if I have hundreds of keywords I'll have hundreds of landing pages. I just want to know what the lead clicked before they submitted a form. I have GA and GTM on the site now. Any advice?
  10. Looking to find a workaround on how to upload a text file to the root of a Squarespace domain, to regain access to a Google Ads account, which won't be granted until this issue is resolved. Things I've tried already: Adding the txt file onto it's ownpage via the Squarespace pageuploader - but the url looks likethis:(www.example.com/s/google-ads.txt) which they did not accept. An external developer tried a similar workaround by remapping thelink(www.example.com/s/google-ads.txt)to redirect to the url they wouldaccept(www.example.com/google-ads.txt),but they also didn't accept this. Here's the Google Ads support email so you can understand what they're asking for and what they don't want. "We have received your Email with a link of the Text file. On checkingthe same Link we found that, the textfile has been created however, pleasebe advised that it has not beenuploaded correctly in the root of theDomain. On clicking the Link sent byyou, we get an option to download thetext file however it should redirectus to the Text file uploaded in theroot of the Website. We are sharingthe steps, please refer below for thesame: Create a .txt file and save itas: Google-Ads.txt Include thefollowing string of text in this textfile: “GooGXXXXXXXXX". Please addinfo@exampleurl.com to Google Adsaccount XXXXXXXX with Admin access -Date 27--2-2019.” Upload this textfile to the root of each of thedomains from which you're requestingaccess. You’ll append"Google-Ads.txt" to the end of yourURL. For example, if your site URL ishttp://www.example.com, the uploadedfile will look like this:http://www.example.com/Google-Ads.txtOnce you have an email domain thatmatches your company domain or haveappended the “Google-Ads.txt” file toyour website (if you do not have anemail domain that matches yourcompany domain), please reply back tothis email with the informationrequested above."After getting in touch with Squarespace directly to see what we could do, they let me know that it is not possible to upload directly to the root domain using the Squarespace built-in platform. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Really need to regain access to Google Ads.
  11. Hi there,I'm wondering what is the minimum code I need for Google Analytics and Tag Manager. For speed, I would ideally defer any Java until the footer, but if I enter my account number in SQSP's native integration, do I still need the Tag manager code? And does SQSP's GA integration parse the Java optimally, therefore I should control it myself with footer code? I'm trying to streamline my code (especially the redundant!) so any help much appreciated.I'm currently using Google Tag to also fire AMP, hotjar and livechat, I just don't know how much code is needed with SQSP. Many thanks.
  12. Does Squarespace not send the Coupon Code over to Enhanced Ecommerce reporting in Google Analytics? I'm not seeing them come in with orders. Thanks
  13. Hey all, So for the expert SEO people, I have a question. I feel like I tick the boxes when it comes to a SEO checklist when i write and post my travel blogs. However, on my google search words I have a heap of impressions on 1 blog (https://www.aussieoutbound.com/blog/how-to-get-to-trolltunga-trolls-tongue) and i can see my ranking on google and what page I'm on etc. As for my other more popular blogs that get traffic from direct sources where its been shared and posted (https://www.aussieoutbound.com/blog/iceland-ring-road-itinerary),I have no impressions or stats on google search words. So my question is, why does my google search words stats only have stats showing up from only 1 blog? Am i missing something. Its just strange that all the search words and phrases are coming from 1 blog.Any help at all to get some of my blogs visible would be fab :) Thanks

  15. I'm want to use Google Analytics to track conversions from my Squarespace 6 site - those conversions being a completed form on the site - but cannot find a way to include the code in the submission button or the form submitted page. Does anyone know of a workaround to allow me to track completed forms?
  16. I created an account in Google tag manager and they gave me a code to add to my website after the <body>. But where would I add it?
