  1. I sell digital gift vouchers but want to add an option to send people a physical voucher in a presentation box in the post. Would I need to add this as a separate item in my Shop? Or can I add an option to add shipping to the Gift Voucher purchase?

  4. Site URL: https://www.cook-farm.com/ Hello, Like so many, we find it frustrating to be unable to integrate our in-person and online sales without massive friction. The straw which will force us to move on from Squarespace is the inability to process physical gift cards in store. Here's a little primer on our sales model/business, how we've dealt with it to date, where we find trouble. Before we move on I'm hoping there's some functional work-around that someone smarter than me has worked up. We're a small farm, we sell once a week at a farmers market and six days a week at our farmstand. A central part of our marketing model is memberships. We sell 'shares' to customers up front, which they are able to redeem at both the market and the stand. To accomplish this we've used a Square POS with their gift cards. We sell these cards on our Squarespace site. It requires unfortunate extra steps but it keeps us from redirecting customers to another site. Additionally, we offer a 'virtual greenhouse' in early spring with a Squarespace Commerce store. Here's a link. It's currently not active and the password is 'help' if anyone wants to view for context. This is where the real headaches begin for us. We need to let our members use their memberships for these online sales. Thus far we've used Squarespace discount codes to zero our their balances, and we've charged their Square gift cards on the backend. This has worked as a stop-gap but its dysfunctional with current order volume. Further, we began trialing a 'virtual farmstand' last year - this allows members to shop online and have their orders made ready for pickup or delivered. Customers love it. However, with our current workaround, the manual nature of it all is too prone to error and time consuming, there are serious accounting hassles, and there's absolutely no ability to sync inventories. We've thought of using Squarespace's digital gift cards to replace the physical card altogether, trying to bring all under one platform. We think this could work fantastic if there was some way to link accounts to gift cards, and further, to customize gift card codes. But the reality of all of our customers readily being able to keep tabs on their digital gift card and to be able to use it at our weekly farmer's market is not one that we can imagine. So, I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone out there has encountered the same problem and come up with a functional work around. Maybe there's a great solution I'm missing! Cheers!
  5. My client would like to offer discounted Gift Cards on Black Friday: Either Buy One for $100 and get $50 Free, or Buy $150 Gift Card for $100. Squarespace does not allow discount codes on Gift Cards. Anyone have a good idea on how to get around this?
  6. Site URL: https://wildwaysvintage.com/ This past Christmas, I signed up to sell gift cards on my site, prompted by Squarespace to do so as their effort to help businesses in the time of COVID. The listing is now no where to be found, and any gift-card orders that came in have no corresponding record of the purchase. A customer reached out saying she was having trouble redeeming her gift card for my shop, that her friend purchased at Christmas. I searched under orders in the commerce section for her friend's name, for "gift card", for the amount specified, and there is no trace of this. The gift card looks legit, I have no issues there. But I have absolutely no record of this transaction. Does anyone know how to look up gift card purchases to see this information? I want to be able to verify the purchase, and provide a discount code instead if that's my only option. Additionally, if the code was working, would she enter the gift card code into the "discount" box at checkout? I noticed in the Squarespace info page on gift cards, there was a "gift or promo" box... is this the same thing? Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. OK so I'm pretty up to speed with how SP scheduling works but I've hit a snag with subscriptions. Run a yoga business that allows people to book group or 121 sessions which all works great. What I want to do is allow people to buy a subscription to help spread the cost of their 121 sessions (so for example, buy 2 hours of 121 sessions to be taken / paid for over 3 months). I've set this up in SP. No issues there... but the issue is, for it to work with appointments I have to tick the below And then choose the appointments its applicable to. All good. However, the confirmation email then becomes a Package / Gift Certificate order, which is a template that I use for gift vouchers and not for subscriptions. I want to be able to use the "Subscription Paid" client email so I can customise it towards subscriptions. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks
  8. Currently a customer can't use a gift card to redeem a subscription product in Squarespace. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I recently added a gift card as a product in Shopify, in the very same way that we add the physical products, and it does not show on our site with the other products. Shopify said to ask if Squarespace only allows for "physical" products to be displayed. Squarespace sent me here to ask. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. So that it is clear, I added the gift card as a product, made it "available", connected it via tags to the collection we have of products currently showing on our site. I will also add that I just recently took over the updates on the website from someone who no longer works with us and not sure where to start here or if there is an entirely "better" way to do all of this. I welcome your feedback on this too. Thanks!!
  10. Site URL: http://www.squarespace.com Hello! We allow our customers to redeem their gift cards online and in-store. Unfortunately, customers are only able to redeem their cards in-store when I am present (staff are unable to help otherwise), because the codes can only be manually typed into the Commerce App (which is on my personal phone). Has anyone found a way to redeem the codes through the desktop version of the website so that our staff can also redeem cards? Our staff have access to the platform through the desktop (so they can fulfill orders, update inventory, etc.), but I haven't been able to figure this part out.
  11. Over the past 18 months we have been able to save our small business by having a beautiful online store with Squarespace. We had people buy gift cards through their and we now have people order from all over the country. It's been a lifesaver - and while we use a different POS for in-store purchases with the Commerce app we have been able to quickly update any in-store purchases and get easy notifications for any purchases coming in from the website so we can pull inventory before it sells in-store. We have also been able to redeem the online gift cards through the app, which has allowed us to "use them" in-store. It's been really good. However, now with the Commerce app being removed, we can no longer use the online gift cards in store and we cannot get notifications to our phones and iPad when orders come in. We can only see them in email. In addition, I have an Android phone which won't even allow we to do sales with the app in-person and even though I just downloaded the new app I cannot even update inventory through it, as it crashes immediately if I try to do anything with the inventory. Heading into the holiday season, with COVID back on the rise, I am really concerned that taking away the Commerce app is going to negatively impact our already small business. Why is such a change being made when the new app clearly doesn't have the features that the current one has? Why are you taking away options for businesses at this time? In talking to a rep they told me I should have a computer ready in case someone wants to use an online gift card in store and they should have to put their entire order in that way instead of me being able to redeem it how I have been. How does this seem like a reasonable workaround for this - when there already was a system that worked? If anyone knows someone who has figured out a workaround please let me know. We need to find a way to make this work and I'm really frustrated that Squarespace has been non-responsive.

They are the only product sold in the online store and are to be used in person, in the beauty salon, for a service or a product. I'm trying to figure out how to keep a good track of them. I did a test purchase and the gift recipient only receives the gift card code number in the downloadable pdf. I can look into the orders but I only can view the order number and the buyer info but since the buyer and recipient of the gift card don't match, how can I review and redeem gift cards? I understand you can redeem a gift card using the Commerce App but it's only compatible with phones and tablets. Is there a way to do this on a desktop? Am I missing something? Also on the emailed gift card, it says "redeem at: www.juditdayspa.com" but since the shop only holds gift cards, can it just say "redeem at: Judit Day Spa" ? If so, how do I make that change? I'm relatively new at this so thank you for your patience. The help is greatly appreciated! Lenka
  13. Site URL: https://www.herocards.us In Bedford template (7.0), I want to edit the customer notification emails for gift cards. I know where to do that, but one of my edits is not working. The default text in the Subject area is "A Gift for {Site Title}". This makes no sense. The gift is not for my site! I want to change it to "A Gift for {Recipient Name}!" The template does allow me to type it exactly that way and save it. But the {Recipient Name} fill-in function does not work. It seems that only {Site Title} can be in the Subject area. Maybe I could just delete {Site Title} and use plain text "You" as a work-around. But can anyone help me understand why {Recipient Name} can be used in the body of the email, but not in the subject area?
  14. Site URL: https://www.herocards.us I just set up Gift Cards (Bedford template, 7.0). All works well, except that in my test all notifications go to the Gift Card Recipient. I tested placing an order to send the Gift Card to another person, then canceled the order to test the refund process. Two of the emails rightly go to the Recipient. But two emails referring to my credit card purchase should go to the Purchaser, rather than the Recipient. - Gift Card “Order Confirmed” email showing the last 4 credit card digits (should go to Purchaser) - Gift Card Issued notification email with unique code (to Recipient, correct) - Gift Card Voided email (to Recipient, correct) - Gift Card “refund has been issued” email showing the last 4 credit card digits (should go to Purchaser) Am I missing something?

I know how to create gifs and upload them to use a URL in Squarespace. How do I address the "*" only and is it even possible? This has now disappeared is there anyway of reinstating it?
  17. Hi, I believe this template below is Squarespace only option in the customer receiving an email gift? Does anyone know of a way to change the fonts or of any gift card plugins? I'd like to use digital gift cards in my store but this template isn't very professional looking.

  19. I'm trying to add Gift Cards for my clients to buy and use for future classes on Squarespace Scheduling. Is it true that I need to go back to each different Gift Card (I've made separate gift cards for each amount, 50$, 100$, 150$ etc) every time I add a new Appointment Type, and add that Appointment Type to be redeemable for the Gift Card? I have about 15 different Gift Cards, and add new Appointment Types every month or even week, so it will eventually take me hours to do. What am I missing? Is it possible to add Gift Cards that works for any and all present and future appointment types? Picture shows that I need to actively check a box to make the gift card work with the appointment type. If I add a new appointment type, it is not added by default, and I need to go back and add it on the Gift Card menu/options for each Gift Card.

These certificates are redeemed for various services: customers book appointments for a service through squarespace and use some (or all) of a certificate for the appointment. I have not found a straight-forward way to report on the redemption of gift certificates, so I understand how much is outstanding, what amounts have been redeemed for the various services I offer, or which certificates have an outstanding balance so I can communicate with the customer to encourage their patronage. Ultimately I need to be able to migrate the amounts used from the gift certificate liability account to revenues in my accounting software and I don't want to wade through all the transactions to find the redemptions. Anyone able to provide some guidance? Thanks!

  22. Hey guys, I'm new to posting here and usually don't do this but I'm having trouble finding information that is specific to the problem I'm running into. Our Squarespace site really wants to sell gift cards this holiday season and that has been set up successfully thanks in large part to the tutorials on the site. The problem I'm running into though is that I'd also like to advertise for these on Facebook and Instagram but I'm unsure as to how I would set that up through Facebook Catalog. I tried to just add them in but I'm running into some issues since I can't list these under a proper category and I'd like to not have our shop flagged for looking shady or misrepresenting what were selling. Any idea how to list virtual items to Facebook Catalog that would link back to our site? Thanks, Chad
  23. I am in a trial period. The support for gift cards/certificates is nice, but I can't get it to work for multiple values. I create the product with, say, a $25 value. Then I click the + to add a $50 variant and upload an image for $50. All looks fine, I save it. Now if I go to the product page, I see the $25 and $50 thumbnails on the left - great. I click on the $50 image and the big image changes - but the price is still shown as $25 and if I add it to the cart, it's the $25 version. Worse, if I edit the product again, the $50 SKU is gone! How is this supposed to work?
