  1. Hi! I am struggling to figure out how to have an image darken when the mouse hovers over it, rather than lighten to the color of the background. I'm working in the Forte template, into which I Frankensteined some code pieced together from various other forum posts and need some help with how to edit it so that the image darkens on hover(like this: http://demo.squarestud.io/grid-gallery-9). I'm pasting the code in use on the site below. Please help me, this is my first foray into code and I am totally clueless! Code: .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover a.image-slide-anchor { opacity: .4; -webkit-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out; transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out; -moz-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out; -o-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out; -ms-transition: opacity .3s ease-in-out; } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper .image-slide-title { display: block; position: absolute; top: 0px; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; display: flex; justify-content: center; align-items: center; padding: 0em; -webkit-transition: all .3s ease-out; -moz-transition: all .3s ease-out; -o-transition: all .3s ease-out; -ms-transition: all .3s ease-out; transition: all .3s ease-out; margin-bottom: 0px !important; pointer-events: none; } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper .image-slide-title { color: #000000; opacity: 0; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 16px; line-height: 125%; letter-spacing: 3px; margin-bottom: 240px; } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover .image-slide-title { color: #000000; opacity:1; text-transform: uppercase; vertical-align: middle; font-size: 16px; line-height: 125%; letter-spacing: 3px; margin-bottom: 240px; } @media only screen and (max-width: 400px) { .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover .image-slide-title { color: transparent; opacity: 0; } } header#header { padding-bottom: 20px; }
  2. Site URL: https://forte-demo.squarespace.com/ Hi, this is my first post so be gentle 😊 There are a couple of features that I would like to add from this Squarespace template: https://forte-demo.squarespace.com/ to my own webpage on here. I'd like to make the dropdown menu for "projects" positioned lower and with a small arrow/triangle at the top (I've attached a picture of the menu). Also, I'd like to know how to style the dropdown menu - is this an option on Squarespace? For example, how do I position the list on the left-hand side, rather than the right? This is how mine looks at the moment: I would also like the effect of when you mouseover the top menu, the opacity of the mask covering the image fades in. Thanks so much for your help!! Tomm
  3. Similarly to the logo on the coming soon cover page, is there a way to add it to the footer as well? Just a small centered logo below a rights reserved bit of text? Edit: I did it with spacers, but is there a better way?
  4. Hello Squarespacers! On my page www.plutodesign.cz I use slide transition with arrows both on left and right which works as supposed to. ON MOBILE it doesn't (simply a stupid UI/UX decision), it uses just an arrow RIGHT, you never can go back left. Also "slide click through" doesn't work on mobile. Users can slide just right and be perplexed they can't go back. The worst part is, IF "fade transition" is used it works like a charm (I told you, stupid UI/UX) but it is not what it is supposed to look like on mobile. Is there a way I could remedy this design flaw with CSS? Thanks ahead for any good advice to solve this annoying problem!
  5. Site URL: https://www.gabrielefranchini.it Hi, I'm using a 7.0 Forte Template on my website and I'm facing the same problem already described here: There is a bad responsiveness on index pages, no return button (you can't go back to a previously shown image). My question is how can I fix it? I saw that the guy who had the same problem found a solution in some way, but it's not public. My website is: www.gabrielefranchini.it PW: gf2021 Thank you!
  6. Site URL: https://www.gabrielefranchini.it Hi, I have a not easy question: is it possible to stop autoplay function on 7.0 Forte indexes once the user click an arrow (right or left)? Like reading that click as a pause as long as he stays on that same index (making it goes manual). I saw that this is a question asked several times but with no public solution. From Ghost Plugins ( https://www.ghostplugins.com/steps/1q9tmlfh ), I've found this free code that is supposed to do the opposite on Brine 7.0 templates, but the way it's written doesn't work at all on Forte templates (I hoped to be able to "invert" its effect, but it recon multiple Syntax Errors): Does anyone have a solution? My website is: www.gabrielefranchini.it PW: gf2021 Thank you!
  7. Site URL: https://www.gabrielefranchini.it Hi, I have an issue on my website: I'm using a 7.0 Forte Template and on mobile devices, Collection Title won't show correctly: when they're long instead of starting a new line, they disappear off the screen. Do someone have a CSS code to fix it? My website: https://www.gabrielefranchini.it PW: gf2021 Thank you! G.
  8. Site URL: https://www.gabrielefranchini.it Hi, I'm using 7.0 Forte template, I have an issue on mobile devices: my business informations (settings > business information) appear in an ugly way on mobile (see attachment), also their useless since I have the same informations in . I don't want to delete them from the business informations since they could be useful for SEO or other things, but I wish to remove them from being visible. Has anyone fixed this problem previously or knows how could I solve it with some custom CSS? I tried the code below, but it doesn't work in my case: .sqs-mobile-info-bar-show-overlay ~ #siteWrapper #header { display: none; } Let me know, thanks, Gabriele.
  9. Site URL: https://kpanitch2021.squarespace.com/ How can I get my 7.1 site to have the exact same functionality as the Forte demo theme in 7.0? My client fell in love with the way the Forte 7.0 theme's header works. (When on dark image- white logo and when on light image- dark logo) I don't want to take my client back to 7.0 because I am almost finished the site. the inversion is the only thing I need to do. can you help please?? the attached image is what I am going for. Forte 7.0 example: https://forte-demo.squarespace.com/ Note: the logo & nav inverts depending on background color.
  10. Site URL: https://www.kanvastt.com Hi I was wondering if it's possible to force an index page to scroll vertically? I really like how the index functions as a full page banner but I wanted to explore the possibility of including some content blocks below it.
  11. Site URL: https://www.samadamssculpture.co.uk/projects I am trying to edit the style of the index pages on my site. The default in the Forte Template is for full bleed background images that run in a slideshow: https://www.samadamssculpture.co.uk/projects https://www.samadamssculpture.co.uk/bespoke-builds However I would like to change the image format to a carousel, like the one used on the gallery plages of the template: https://www.samadamssculpture.co.uk/gallery-display-desk Is there a way that I can do this in the custom CSS? Thank you!
  12. Site URL: http://camillataylor.com Is there a way to have a unique background image with Forte? I only want a background for me first page, but don't want to have a separate style cover page. The code solution I found on Beaver Hero doesn't seem to work, making only a banner rather than a background.
  13. On the Forte template, is there a way to add/code in a footer on the gallery layouts? I want to add text that applies to all of the photos in the set, so not just individual captions for each photo. I can't seem to be able to add a new block/element where a footer would be an option, is there a way to do so? Thanks!
  14. Site URL: https://monumentreleasing.squarespace.com/config/pages I've looked around in all the forums and tried a lot of different code injections but nothing seems to be able to reduce the white space between the top of the page (logo and navigation bar) and the main content. I've used code where I'm able to add padding below and increase the white space, but putting in negative numbers doesn't reduce the space. I'm using Forte template. h1.logo.image { margin-bottom: 0px; } nav.main-nav { padding-top: 0px !important; padding-bottom: -50px !important; } Attached image below with circle around the space I'm talking about. Thanks!
  15. Site URL: http://www.GetRealJC.com Hi All, Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I am using the Forte template, and created a summary page for a listing of my blog posts. However, I cannot seem to figure out how to add a link to older posts so people can see things that don't show up on the first page. No doubt I am overlooking something obvious, but can you help a brother out? :)
  16. Site URL: http://www.edmundstenson.com Hello all, I'm looking to change the colour of my header in my 7.0 Forte template. Is it possible? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, Ed
  17. Site URL: http://www.whiteboxaustin.com Hi, I'm using the theme Forte. At the end of the index slides it is a hard/fast scroll back to slide 1. I would like for it to continue to loop at the same speed as the other slide. Anyone have a fix for this?
  18. I'm using Forte, and for the index, it automatically creates a dropdown of all the galleries as links. Rather have a dropdown for the links, I just want those links to be my nav buttons. This way, you could either click on a page in the slideshow, or you can just click one of the links in the nav bar, and they will take you to the same place. What's the best way to do this? (I.e., is it something that is built in, or will I need to add custom code) Thanks!
  19. I have been trying to make my page in Forte which has a gallery of images full bleed so there is no margin or height limit and the images scroll behind the nav. I can not crack this puzzle and do not understand why my code below is not working in the custom css. slideshow strip main sqs-gallery-design-strip rendered #yui_3_17_2_1_1582988118820_88{ height: 0px; margin-top: 0px;} Attached is how it looks now, and how I want it to look without the margins. Thank you!
  20. Hello, Right now the forte template content width can't go wider than 1200px. How do I make it wider so the images look more bigger and wider? Thank you
  21. Site URL: https://www.juergenhofmann.com/ Hi everyone, I want to move my logo on Forte template further to the top / left corner so it aligns better with the navigation bar. Tried my best with googling the solution but found nothing and I have absolutely no idea how to CSS :( www.juergenhofmann.com Thanks!
  22. I am trying to add text to the top of my Gallery pages—the Forte template does not allow for text blocks or display page descriptions. Is there a way to make the page descriptions visible at the top of my gallery pages that I can then style with CSS. https://gardenia-turbot-wghj.squarespace.com/black-white pw: photo1
  23. Greetings to all ... Unfortunately I have been experiencing a problem for sometime with getting Galleries to scroll either vertically or horizonally on iOS 13.x. I reported this problem a few months ago (when iOS 13 came out) to both apple and to squarespace but I havent been able get a fix yet. Does anybody have some ideas how to get it running properly? If you want to test yourself visit https://thinkbuild.com/soteria-berlin on an ipad running 13.x - or any other gallery on our projects page - and you will see it does not scroll. On an iphone or of course a mac or other machine it works as expected... strange... Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated! Cheers from Berlin, Jason
  24. Does anyone have any code to enable me to not show prices on particular products in a particular catagory. Forte only allow you to add or remove prices for all products
  25. Site URL: https://www.samuelprudden.com I'm having an issue with the home page navigation on a Forte site and I'm wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot it? Here's the site: samuelprudden.com And here's the issue: When you first land on the home page, and hover over the "WORK" menu item a black box appears with the submenu items. The submenu items font color is black and the link underline is white and I can't seem to force the submenu text to be white. To make things more frustrating, when you visit another page and then return to the home page, the submenu items do appear in white. I'm including all the code used on the site for reference below: CUSTOM CSS: /* Set header background colour and add 50px of space below */ #headerWrapper { background: #f5f5f5; padding: 50px 50px 0; margin-bottom: 50px; } /* Remove 50px of colour to allow for 50px of space */ #headerWrapper header { padding: 0 0 50px 0; } /* Remove padding from canvas otherwise header colour will not be edge-to-edge */ body:not(.collection-type-index):not(.collection-type-gallery) #canvas { padding: 0px; } /* Add padding to page wrapper instead */ body:not(.collection-type-index):not(.collection-type-gallery).content-alignment-center .pageWrapper { padding: 0 50px; } /* Gallery pages header bottom no margin on smaller viewports */ @media only screen and (max-width: 768px) { .collection-type-index #headerWrapper, .collection-type-gallery #headerWrapper { margin-bottom: 0px; } } .collection-type-index #headerWrapper, .collection-type-gallery #headerWrapper { padding: 0px !important; margin-bottom: 0 !important; } /***BUTTON + FORM TEXT SIZE STANDARDIZATION***/ .sqs-block.form-block span { font-size: 12px; } .form-wrapper input[type="submit"] { font-size: 12px; } /***FORM STYLING***/ .form-wrapper .field-list .field{ font-family: futura-pt; font-size: 13px; letter-spacing: .5px; } .form-wrapper .title { font-family: futura-pt; font-size: 12.5px; letter-spacing: 2.5px; } .form-wrapper .field-list .field .field-element { width: 100%; padding: 12px; margin: 6px 0 4px; background: #f5f5f5; font-size: 15px; font-family: futura-pt; letter-spacing: 1.1px; line-height: normal; box-sizing: border-box; border-left-width: 2px; border-left-color: #000 ; border-radius: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; } /***Contact Biz Manager Block Line***/ #block-yui_3_17_2_8_1507060636653_21560 { border-left: 2px solid #000; background-color: transparent; padding: 40px; } /***About Page Line Styling***/ #block-97e5e21e44b779764c24 { border-left: 2px solid #000; margin-left: 20px; padding: 40px; } /***Heading 3 Style Change***/ h3 { letter-spacing: .05em; } /***THICK HORIZONTAL RULE***/ .sqs-block-horizontalrule hr { background-color: #000; padding: 1.5px 0 0px 0; } /***MOBILE ONLY NAV HEIGHT CHANGE***/ @media screen and (max-width: 768px){ #headerWrapper header { padding: 0 0 40px 0, !important; } } /*** gallery plus sign removal ***/ #fullscreenBrowser .slideshow.strip .slide .ctrl-button.resize a { display: none; } /***gallery black background***/ .collection-type-gallery section { background-color: #000; } #fullscreenBrowser .slideshow.strip .image-detail-wrapper { display: none; } /* Gallery pages black background on smaller viewports */ @media only screen and (max-width: 768px) { .collection-type-gallery #fullscreenBrowser, html.mobile-view body.collection-type-gallery #mainContent { background-color: #000; } } /* Gallery pages black background at top of gallery on smaller viewports */ @media only screen and (max-width: 768px) { .collection-type-gallery #fullscreenBrowser, html.mobile-view body.collection-type-gallery #mainContent { margin-top: 20px !important; } } AND THE ADVANCED CODE INJECTION ON THE HOME PAGE <style> body.collection-type-index .color-weight-dark #topNav .folder .folder-child-wrapper ul.folder-child li a { color: #fff !important; } </style> <style> body.collection-type-index .color-weight-dark #topNav .folder .folder-child-wrapper ul.folder-child li a { color: #fff !important; } .collection-title { display: none; } </style> <style> .collection-detail-wrapper { display: none; } </style> <style> .logo a, .logo-subtitle, #topNav .main-nav li a, #sqs-social a, .sqs-use--icon, .sqs-use--mask, #topNav .folder .folder-child-wrapper .folder-child:before, #mobile-navigation a, .ctrl-button a { color: #000 !important; } </style> <style> #sqs-social .sqs-use--icon { fill: #000 !important; } </style> <style> body.collection-type-index .color-weight-dark #topNav .folder .folder-child-wrapper ul.folder-child { background-color: #000 !important; } </style> @paul2009 you helped with a couple of these code snippets back in 2017.
