  1. Working for an nonprofit that sells a variety of products. Some are physical (merchandise -- dance gear, CDs, books), but our primary sales are event tickets, live workshops, and dance class series. We often have to send out updates about classes and events and have been doing so (until recently) by exporting our sales on Squarespace and copy/pasting email addresses into our company email, then sending from there--not through squarespace. It's been a total slog and it's time to start using squarespace as our main database for emails, marketing, and customer profiles. While we've successfully set up automated emails via Marketing to go out immediately after specific purchases, we'd like to have a way to easily send out follow up emails to those same customers. Is there is a way for Squarespace to automatically populate mailing lists based on costumers' specific purchases? We only recently upgraded to user profiles so part of my confusion comes from managing profiles... Feels like there should be a way to search our customer profiles for specific item purchases but I'm not finding them. I see that we can manually add tags to individual customers, but that seems a little backwards to me (ex. If I want to add a tag to customers who purchase purchased tickets to a specific show (ie - Tag: "Holiday Show 2021") how can I find out who purchased them without squarespace auto-generating that information in the profiles hub? Trying to figure out what makes the most sense when it comes to user profile management for the org at this time. I'm not opposed to using Eventbrite or Scheduling, I just feel like there is a way to manage mailing lists and send e-blasts through squarespace based on specific purchases. Is there? Hoping that this is possible/easy, and that I just am missing something obvious here.
  2. I am unable to verify my email address for email campaigns. When I click on 'verify email' I get a message saying a 'verification code' has been sent to the 'noreply@...' email address. But I don't know how I would access that email. Any help? Tom

I am using the Squarespace mailing list feature, and I have a couple of questions: Is there a way to (automatically) create a newsletter archive? I want people to be able to read back issues before they subscribe. or Is there a way to automatically cross post the content from my newsletters into my blog. I suspect I am starting to reach the limitations of the Squarespace email engine - and I may need to move across to a third party (mailchimp? mailerlite?) - if thats the case, are there any recommendations or guides to integrating an external tool to my Squarespace site.   5. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I can move a contact from one email marketing list to another. I have one list that is my Nurture Sequence, so there's many emails going out to them every few days, and if they become a client, I'd like to remove them from that list to a General Email List. Or do I have to do it manually. Delete them from the Nurture Sequence list and manually write their info in the General email list.
  6. If a subscriber is in more than one email mailing list, and I create an email campaign to several of my lists, will that person receive that email several times? Or does Squarespace's system recognize that it's a duplicate and only sends it to that person once? Thanks for your help!
  7. It's really disappointing that we can't add events to our email campaigns. Anyone found a work around that doesn't require retyping or copying and pasting everything by hand before I give up?

For the past couple of months, when I add emojis to the subject line of my marketing email campaigns, they appear as broken on send (and on test sends). No matter the emoji, it appears as two question marks in diamond shapes. It's been really frustrating because I can't find a cause, and it used to work for me! I've reached out to Squarespace support, but they claimed it's not an issue on their end and that it must be a client issue. Which is weird, because my email client is Gmail, through the Squarespace website (I purchased the Gsuite through Squarespace). Anyone else having trouble with this or know of a fix? Thank you!

However, when I enter the sender profile information, it says Unverified domain may be marked as spam. After trying a test (before importing all our member emails), the email does get delivered but indeed goes into the junk mail folder. We use squarespace, our domain is hosted thru godaddy, however, we create our email accounts thru Microsoft 365 Business. What can I do to verify this? Thanks in advance! Donna

  13. Hi guys I have seen many people struggle to import their existing subscribers to Squarespace Email campaigns, with failed errors, warnings of bounce rates and so forth. None of the emails I am using are not subscribed and the file is cleaned up with only one column for email addresses. There are work-arounds by importing in small batches of 100 but this is just silly and its been a problem for a while with no fix. Please fix this issue as its currently un-usable as a feature. Eg. members receive an automatic email thanking them for registering and giving next steps; queue emails to arrive a certain period after they've registered for memberships etc? I know that I can automate to regular mailing list subscribers, but I can't see any way to set up the same automation for those who register as members, which seems like a pretty essential tool that I had honestly assumed would be available based on the combination of regular email automations & members areas. I've just migrated my email marketing from Mailchimp to Squarespace and created a Members Area for an online workshop programme we are delivering. We already have the list of approved members, so I have been able to import them successfully into a mailing list and send them an initial welcome email using a regular email campaign. However, I note that I can not manually add these participants into a membership and give them access to the members area - I have to email them again using the regular email campaign function, and ask them to register for the members area, at which point I'm unable to automate emails to them as free members rather than "customers". Even if they register as members to gain access to the members area and then I manually add them into an additional mailing list, then it's still not possible to automate an email sequence for them because they have to "subscribe" to the mailing list themselves... So it seems like the only way to be able to have the combination of 1. participants in a free membership + 2. automated emails enabled is to make people register for a membership AND then subscribe for an additional mailing list... which somewhat defeats the purpose of automating emails to get people engaged anyway. It would be wonderful to know if anyone has a good way around this, or if not whether this functionality is likely to be forthcoming in future? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hi All, I'm running a small community cinema. Each of my cinema screenings is displayed on my website as an Event and my programme is presented via an Events Summary Grid. I would like to be able to email my Mailing List once a fortnight with the forthcoming programmes. I imagine it being a standard template with one section at the bottom for bespoke content - news, announcements other info etc. Is there a way of building an E-News Mailing Template that simply pulls the information and images from the Events pages of my site (which are all standardised) and places them into the Template automatically....or am I being a bit too ambitious? I've been able to add it as part of both the thank you message and the email when people submit their email. However, the email that is automatically sent is asking people to confirm their email. After they click confirm, all they get is a default looking page just thanking them. How can I send people a discount *after* they've confirmed their email joining the mailing list instead of before? I'd like to send an e-mail to customer based on 2 parameters, 1 - after a set time and 2 - if this is their first purchase It's a great opportunity for me to welcome them, and make the first purchase feel a little more exciting. It'll also allow me to target customers with a voucher to encourage them to return.

I find the current design options in SS to be very limited. Is SS planning on adding more features to enhance the email campaign designs? I keep on getting an error for the second record "TXT" type. I already updated my DNS customer record from Google domain as well, but I still can't verify my domain. Whenever I add an "@" from Google Domain, it prompts me to leave it blank as well. Also, I am able to see that I already have a duplicate for my TXT record under Google Workspace. My client created the Google Workspace account via Google, not directly from Squarespace MISTAKENLY. (Please see the 2nd box on the screenshot above). I also can't connect my Google Workspace account to my Squarespace website. Are these issues connected then? Please advise. Thank you so much. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
  21. Hi all - quick question! So if I set up an automatic email to go out when people join my mailing list - if I input addresses to this mailing list via CSV, do they get sent the automatic email as soon as I input them? Or do they only get the automatic email if they sign up manually themselves on the website. Also do the automatic email campaigns count towards any limits? (Is there a limit to how many automatic emails can go out per month? For example, if I add 200 people by CSV per day would that be an issue, or are automatic campaigns infinite?) Many thanks!
  22. Hi! I am using Squarespace campaigns to send out newsletters people who enrolled to my mailing list. I am looking for away to allow the subscribers to chose what information they want to receive, meaning that the subscriber can choose preferences - do they want to get weekly updates about live events, or just once in a while update when a new course is released. I understand that Squarespace don't have an option for subscriber preferences at the moment, I wonder if anyone here have a creative solution?
  23. Hi! I'm trying to figure out the best way to send automated messages to active recurring customers. I will be selling one product, either as a single purchase product or as a subscription. Within Squarespace I have created two products as it seems the only way to give customer the choice between a subscription or a single purchase. I want to send automated e-mails to customers who are on active recurring plans (so not to people who cancelled already). Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? With the Squarespace automations, it is possible to send e-mails to people who have purchased the subscription (as I just created 2 different products), however, I wouldn't be able to filter out people who have already cancelled. Or any tips on other platforms that could do the same? I have been looking at Mailchimp, but I wouldn't know how to create an active subscriber field... Thanks!

Those seem to be mostly the same, which makes me guess are inactive addresses and might be deleted in the future. Kind regards Julian
