  1. Hi, I am looking for a solution as I am a little stumped on what to do and worried I might have to move to a different website builder, while I have spend quite a bit of time designing my soon to go live website. I, sadly, live in Jersey Channel Islands (UK), where Stripe for some reason does not offer service. My only option left would be Paypal. Though there it presents a few problems.. A lot of clients do not have Paypal accounts and is just not that commonly used. I want to offer coaching solutions so would need to set up recurring payments and even though Paypal offers recurring payments and 'split the payments' options.. All I read is that is not available when using it in Squarespace? I really do not want to lose the money I have spent and all the work I have put into building a website I really like. Any advice? Thank you for your reply. Sep
  2. I have a site that is only service products being used as membership dues so nothing will ever be "fulfilled" to the customer. Right now the confirmation page is confusing because of the orange tag that says "Pending Fulfillment" Anyone have code or ideas on how to hide this on the customer facing page?
  3. Hi there, I'm working on a Webshop that needs to have 2 sales tax options, 7% and 19%, depending on the product. The shop is in Germany and it's mandatory. Any Ideas on how to do this or how to work around it? Hope I'm not the only German using Squarespace e-commerce 😁
  4. I'd like to display tags for a particular product on the product page itself. I understand this is not out of the box, but I hoped I could leverage the the tag cloud to reveal the tags. Unfortunately, it seems I can only choose to display all tags for my store, rather than than the ones that apply to the specific product. Note: My goal is not to create a filter. Our brand ethos centers around sustainability and our customers have strong value alignments. I want customers to be able to see which products align to their values (eg. women-owned, carbon neutral, plastic-free). As a bonus, the tags allow you to click in and filter down on all products that match a tag. I was hoping to use tags as a more scalable and universal feature (rather than hard coding text onto each product page). In this way I can feed the tags back to our CRM and leverage the values for marketing and analytics. It's also easier to manage and make sure the tags remain standardized. I believe in building scalable foundations, and while hard coded buttons/tables could work, they aren't scalable, reportable, or easily managed. Has anyone had any success with this? Is there a plugin out there that may work? Anyone tried to display the tags via their own code? Thanks!
  5. Hi! I have found a useful code that I can add to my product info for redirecting to an upsell page when my clients add to cart from the product page. But I would need to make it work also when they just add the product to the cart from the single button I have embedded on the sales page. Could anyone help me with this? My sales page for that product is: https://anazaragoza-copywriter.com/sistema-revivir-web-muerta And the code is this one: <!-- Redirect to Upsell Page after clicking on Add To Cart Button --> <!-- Author: Dmitry Kiselyov @_dmitrykiselyov --> <script> // /upsell-page is the default URL. To change it, replace /upsell-page with the required URL. var upsellPageUrl = "/upsell-page" //////////////////////////////// function redirectToUpsellPageHandler(wrapper){var addToCartButton=wrapper.querySelector(".sqs-add-to-cart-button"),productVariants=wrapper.querySelector(".product-variants");function isVariantInStock(){return productVariants.getAttribute("data-variant-in-stock")}function onClick(){(productVariants&&isVariantInStock()||!productVariants)&&setTimeout((function(){document.location.href=upsellPageUrl}),1200)}addToCartButton&&addToCartButton.addEventListener("click",onClick)}function redirectToUpsellPage(){var productPage=document.querySelector(".collection-type-products.view-item #productDetails, .collection-type-products.view-item .ProductItem-details"),productBlocks;productPage&&redirectToUpsellPageHandler(productPage),[].slice.call(document.querySelectorAll(".sqs-block-product")).forEach(redirectToUpsellPageHandler)}document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded",redirectToUpsellPage),window.addEventListener("mercury:load",redirectToUpsellPage); </script> <!-- end Redirect to Upsell Page after clicking on Add To Cart Button --> I suppose is just to modify sth here. Thank you very much, Ana

  7. I'm looking to place my product gallery controls beside my product image rather than have them display on top of the image.
  8. Does anyone have the solution to hide the product variant images in the product gallery and only have them display when a product variant is selected?
  9. Site URL: https://www.soulwines.ch Hello, I was wondering if there is anyway of adding line breaks to product titles? Here is my site www.soulwines.ch Thanks for your help Sean
  10. This post is written as a constructive rant, not a criticism. I am a loyal Squarespace web designer and stand by its capabilities. But now and again I'm dumbfounded by things that really should not be roadblocks in delivering industry-standard websites. I live in Canada and Squarespace and Square do not have the same working relationship as they do in the USA. I live in Ontario where a majority of stores and restaurants in my area all use the Square POS system. During Covid one of my clients wanted to move their store online and that was when I first realized the incompatibility between the two providers. Unfortunately only after designing the online store in Squarespace which looked and worked great, realized it could not take a payment via Square. The only workaround was to have a link to a shop website in Square and add a link on the clients' logo in Square that returned to Squarespace. Not the best but it worked, unfortunately, the client had to pay for two websites. Years on I have a coffee shop with a small online store for coffee beans and merch. I believe by now there should be a solution. After lots of time Googling and watching videos I found the solution using Ecwid. Promising that this is the solution that will link seamlessly your square POS to to Squarespace website and for free. Great! a large sigh of relief and away I go designing an amazing slick website. I link my client's POS to Ecwid and then with code install a shop window into my Squarespace website. It's not all plain sailing, as a designer I use code in the Ecwid platform to make it look like it is part of Squarespace. Hours of work. All is going well until my client notices that certain product options have not been imported. Hours of research later I found that to Sync your inventory, you must have a paid service. Now all this is not obvious in Ecwid and the point of this post is so no one wastes any time going down this route. The cost is USD$490 a year on the Essentials plan, which is hidden, but if you don't find that could pay USD $990 on the Unlimited plan.! This is just crazy it's not spoken about up front and asking a small coffee shop to pay what will be more than the hosting of the Squarespace website just to take payments. So Ecwid is not a solution, don't waste your time thinking it is. I have to now go to my client and explain that my promise that Squarespace would deliver a better experience than the client's current Squareup website, and would be cheaper is not so. Unless your client is a purely online store then perhaps paying for the Ecwid service makes sense. But not for the majority of small store owners around Canada. And why should they pay a third party to make the connection, more complication to there already complicated business. I feel we need more support from Squarespace in Canada, for Canadian businesses. Yes, it is the best platform, but it is not good for business if it does not work with the Square POS. As a web designer, I need to be able to deliver websites that work efficiently for my clients. I am now at a stage where in Canada I am questioning whether I need to work with another platform.
  11. After working on a bunch of Squarespace ecommerce sites in the past, I've since decided to stop designing and building online stores on Squarespace due to the many frustrations I've come across: mainly shipping and sales tax issues. Even on the smallest online stores, there always seems to be a problem. A couple examples: 1) One of my clients only had TWO products: a physical gift card and a t-shirt. Clearly we had to collect sales tax on the t-shirt, but we can't add sales tax to the gift card since the customer pays sales tax when they visit the store. There was no workaround to this except to use a third party (TaxJar) and pay $19/month just to utilize this small feature. 2) Another client had a relatively small store (about 5 products). Most of the products were merchandise and not time sensitive, but they did have one product that was food and had to be overnighted. The only way we could make this work was to hope that people selected the correct shipping option at checkout. BUT if they wanted multiple products it was very confusing during checkout. They since moved to Shopify and I don't blame them. It looks like there are fulfillment profiles now which may help with different shipping options for different products, but has this helped? I recently started a new website for a client that didn't initially want online store capabilities, but naturally they do now so I'm trying to see what I can do. If I had known this from the start, I wouldn't have taken on the job because it's caused me so much headache in the past. I haven't done an online store in a while so I was hoping I could get some feedback from people that have lately. Is it better now? Any insight is appreciated!
  12. Hey all, I've got this site, https://www.amplifyhorseracing.org/education , which is a Horse Racing Mentorship Nonprofit. They want to have a page where they list "Educational Resources" (websites and businesses that could benefit people in the industry). They want to list these businesses for free. I am using the blog option for this like I do for their job listing page here. https://www.amplifyhorseracing.org/job-board However, the free listing will be minimal information. They want to offer a more robust listing (say, a logo, link to the website, and more) for a specific price. Ive tried offering this as a digital product, but the user experience seems strange. Because I would think the best UE should be to click on the paid option, be prompted to pay and then have the option to upload logos and fill out a form with the available information to be listed. I can't wrap my head around how I go about this. Does anyone have an idea for me? Here is what I started with but the UE isnt it. https://www.amplifyhorseracing.org/test-sub-page
  13. Hello, I'm finding it very difficult. to find much useful info on the Digital Products Add-Ons. I want to try the new courses function but I won't be doing that if I have to pay 9% transaction fees. So I want to know more about the Digital Add Ons packages which supposedly reduce or remove that transaction fee. Does anyone know where I can find info on prices for the digital add ons packages, and info on features of each package? I'm working in AU$ dollars so that info would be helpful too. Thanks.
  14. Hello, On two websites I own I have the same problem: When I receive the confirmation as owner, the order id is correct but when a customer receives the email confirmation the email is missing in two places. 1) In the emails subject, order number is missing and instead it says "Order confirmed #<span>order number</span> 2) Second line I email: Order number should be embedded in the automated email designed by squarespace. The order number is however shown in the another section in the email under "order overview" (in config of this is written differently = Ordrenr. {Ordrenummer} Some of the information in the confirmation email can be changed in /config/commerce/customer-notifications but not these two informations. The DNS settings are as they should be. For now I have deleted the tags that does not work but that isn't optimal - can you tell me what the correct tags is? ( {Ordrenummer} does not work either )
  15. Hi I need to send more data from Squarespace to Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. How and what Code do I ade for Enhanced Ecommerce Tracking? If I place the code in the footer of the Order Confirmed Page it does not get sent. I need a way to work with Data Layers. Thank you for your help.
  16. Hi, I watched the recorded Squarespace webinar about SEO and they mentioned that you should not use the brackets in your titles because it could negatively impact SEO. What about quotation marks and colons? For example, what about this as a product listing title: "Island Painting: Sunset" Canvas Print Will it potentially affect the SEO of this title? Should I remove the quotation marks and the semi-colon? Does this apply to all special characters? Thanks for you patience, just trying to learn. Thanks, Erica
  17. Hi! I want to add some products onto multiple pages but pull from the same/one inventory, is that possible? if so, how? Thanks in advance!
  18. Hi so I'm designing a website in each we will be selling products. Pricing is largely based on sizes and quantity. Here's an example: 2x2 inches 10-99 ○ stickers: $1.00 each ○ 100-499 stickers: $0.90 each ○ 500-999 stickers: $0.80 each ○ 1,000-4,999 stickers: $0.70 each 3x3 inches ○ 10-99 stickers: $1.20 each ○ 100-499 stickers: $1.10 each ○ 500-999 stickers: $1.00 each ○ 1,000-4,999 stickers: $0.90 each ○ 5,000+ stickers: Contact for custom pricing Anyone know a way this can be done through some sort of Squarespace compatible plugin or am I'm going to have code this?
  19. So I own a grocery store and some items we sell by lb. The price will be an ESTIMATE ONLY. Because many items are charged by the pound we will not know the exact total until the order is packed.
  20. My client has a mix of products in her store - service / digital and physical products. She uses an external fulfilment centre for the physical products and they have asked to receive a PDF of any orders that come through, rather than having direct access to the site and store. Does anyone know if this is possible? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks
  21. Hello I am currently rebranding my business and I am wanting to create a new ecommerce website. Within the website, I would like a section where my stockists can purchase wholesale from me. This would be separate from the main retail shop. Plus, it would be password protected. My current website is https://www.cacaotemple.com but I am wanting to create mummajo.com. My question is this: Can you suggest any Squarespace templates that would be suitable for such a website? With thanks Jody Temple
  22. How can I charge €10 for orders under €39, and then offers free shipping for orders starting from €40. To do this, do I necessarily need a plugin or an insert of coding? Thank you Valentina
  23. Hi there, I offer services that I currently share on my website using a book-now button that links to my acuity page (connected to a personal stripe account). Does this mean I can connect Squarespace to my business Stripe account, thus keeping both accounts separate? One for personal services (using a button/link), the other for selling products (ecommerce connected to the business Stripe account). Please advise. Thanks
  24. Hey, I am building a website for somebody and they have asked whether it is possible to take payments with the option to change this amount for each client they have? For example: Client 1: total cost £300 Deposit: £150 first link payment amount: £150 - second link payment amount: £150 Client 2: total cost £100 Deposit: £50 first link payment amount: £50 - second link payment amount: £50 Not sure if I have explained this very well. I am sure PayPal gives this option, I was just wondering if theres a more user friendly way? Thanks, Sarah
  25. I have a DPD account. I sell digital goods. Industry reports. I get basic HTML code for my DPD button. It looks like SquareSpace added some digital goods ecommerce feature. So did they just break all competitors on the site? Is that what's happening? Button with price, and roll-over highlight effect, is how it once worked, and worked perfectly on my SquareSpace site, now there's just the text, "PURCHASE NOW" with the button stripped out. Seriously?
