About Me

  1. Does anyone know if there is a way to display "date modified" (if it exists) rather than the original publication date? I figured out how to include "date modified" using Schema Markup (since SS has no direct option for this), but now I want to show this on my blog posts.
  2. Site URL: https://www.heyfieldday.com/blog/ I am using two separate blog channels on my website -- one is published (/blog) and the other is currently hidden (/support/library). I want blog posts within "Blog" to show the date metadata on each individual post, but I don't want dates to show on the posts within "Support library". Is there a way to target the CSS of all the posts within a single blog channel, so I don't have to update the CSS to hide the date every time I post in "Support library"? (Or, is there a way to adjust this in settings that I'm not seeing?) I am using a 7.1 Brine template.
  3. How do you remove the date from a set of Videos page? The page is in the making so not accessible yet, but I'm attaching a screenshot. I assume a piece of CSS code would do, and if so, would any of you, coding experts, have one I can add in Custom CSS? Thank you.
  4. I'm working on an events page. Squarespace has 2 options to show display the date: show "side tag" and show "with text". I prefer the look of the side tag, but it doesn't include the year of the event, which I find quite frustrating and confusing as I have events that are more than a year in the future--and also confusing when it comes to the past events to not know what year they happened. Is there any way to show both the "side tag" and "with text" (using custom css maybe?). Or does anyone have any other suggestions for how to include the year while also including the side tag? (Note: I don't want to include the year in the title because it looks awkward. I also don't want to include the year in the excerpt because then it will show up twice when you click on the individual event--unless there is a way to hide the date altogether when you click on the individual event so I can just display it in the excerpt? Is there a way to disable the option of clicking on the individual event?) I'm also wondering if there's any way to add a heading that says "Past Events" after the dividing line. I find the dividing line isn't obvious enough on either "side tag" or "with text" setting. Thanks!
  5. Site URL: https://kknomics.squarespace.com/program I've used a Blog to create an achive for festival events in 2017-2021. I've added Squarewebsite's Universal Filter to be able to navigate between tags and categories. I want to publish future events as blog posts - for the festival that will occur in october 2022. Is it possible to overrun the Squarespace settings and allow a future date as "published date" (NOT scheduled) ? When I try to choose October 21st 2022, it automatically chooses today's date... I chose not to use Event page because the limit of 30 past events was too low. Does anybody know how this can be done? 🙌

Site URL: https://forum.squarespace.com/topic/158057-date-display-format-options/?fbclid=IwAR3c-LN_AFmqlTWG6uPvXzXLV9TqUKihXMjjvyrHfLgn-0NEqg2yXnztUys#comment-447653 Hi guys, Understanding the requirement to set consistently format date on all pages of website , I would like to share my solution to you . 1. Add the following codes to Home > Settings > Advanced > Code Injection <!-- Fix inconsistent blog date format on Squarespace 7.1 template --> <!-- Squarespace Forum Update 06-11-2021 --> <script src="https://stevenlevithan.com/assets/misc/date.format.js"></script> <script> (function(){ document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() { const dateformat = "dd-mm-yyyy"; const pubdates = document.querySelectorAll("time[datetime]:not([class*=event-time]), time[pubdate], time.blog-meta-item--date"); pubdates.forEach(pubDate => { let d = new Date(pubDate.getAttribute("datetime") || pubDate.innerText); if (pubDate.classList.contains('blog-meta-item--date') ) { d = new Date(document.querySelector('[itemprop="datePublished"]').getAttribute('content').split("T")[0]); } pubDate.innerHTML = d.format(dateformat); }); }); })(); </script> 2. Change the 'dateformat' in my previous code with the date format you want to apply. Ex: dd-mm-yyy, mmm-dd-yyyy,... Hope that it can help your sites properly Let me know if you have any issue that needs to be solved. Support me by pressing 👍 if this useful for you
  7. Site URL: https://noahlangphotography.com/blog/ I already have my meta data date turned off for all my posts, but how can the date be hidden from Google as well. It seems like a number of other people have the same question, but on different posts, so I thought I'd bring it up again. This date in the image attached is what I'm referencing, and I think other people are too. Thanks!
  8. Site URL: https://onyxhive.com.au Hello, I have a date picker in my additional forms when a product is added to the cart. Since squarespace is so limited with shipping options, I need the date picker I already have to change to different set of requirements. For example: Customer adds cake to cart Pop up appears as per normal Customer selects "Victoria” state from the first drop down menu (I will have to add this) The calendar changes to a whole new set of options and disables Saturday and Sunday delivery If customer selects “new south wales” The calendar changes back and enables Saturday and Sunday delivery Any similar date pickers out there or how can I implement this? Thanks
  9. Site URL: https://bellflower-aardvark-67p5.squarespace.com/config/pages I am trying to make a Squarespace Website in Danish, and running into a few issues. Most of them I've overcome by now, but the Events page is still providing some issues. The issues are the following: Can I change the language - or inject some coding to do it - on the Events page, and on the individual events? This is the most important. On the main events page I can make it work by typing the date in as an excerpt, and not having the date visible on the Events page. That's what's being done in the middle screenshot "Udklip1". However this is of course not ideal, and when you visit the event the days and dates are shown in English once again. I found this forum post, but I have been unable to get any of the code to work: https://forum.squarespace.com/topic/11148-blog-post-translate-date-format-and-months-from-english-to-another-language/ Can it be changed to 24-hour, rather then AM/PM? As far as I am aware this is impossible. If it's not possible to do that's okay. Can the "Back to All Events" txet be changed? Ideally to say "Tilbage til Kalender". Or if not possible, just removed? And a little bonus issue. Is it possible to get the site to hyphenate words? I mean I can survive without it, but it does just look a little silly sometimes. Though I took some coding classes in high school I have forgotten all of it. So please talk to me as though I am five years old. If you need any more information please let me know. Thank you in advance.
  10. Hi, I've got a bit stuck on something I am trying to achieve. I offer a few different postage methods which take anywhere from 2 days to 14. The issue I have is people often never account for what is a working day, in an effort to clear things up I'd like to achieve the an estimated delivery date onsite. I've been looking at moment.js as it seems that it has the capability to highly customise this adding not only working days but accounting for public holidays you specify. Basic version Take today's date and add x working days to it to output an estimated delivery date. Better version The above but factor in the time the order was placed to either count it in the calculation or start from the following day eg Thurs 9am order starts on Thurs, however a Thurs 10pm order starts on Friday. Has anyone done anything similar with a commerce site? Thanks
  11. Site URL: https://www.floranella.com/recipes/lemon-balm-popsicles I would like the date to appear above the title on each of my individual blog posts. Right now, when I enable the date to be visible, it appears above the title in the following format: "Aug 13" I would like it to appear this way: "August 13, 2019" I searched the forums for a fix for this and found someone who had created code we could insert in the advanced settings, but when I go to the Code Injection page, it only allows me to paste the code into boxes titled "Header," "Footer," "Lock Page" or "Order Confirmation Page," none of which seem to affect the blog posts at all. I did paste the code into the header box to see what would happen and it did not produce any change. I am not very tech savvy. If any of you know how to make this change and could walk me through how to do it, I would be so grateful! [Updated to Add: I have figured out how to get the year to show by inserting code into the footer section (I have attached an image of the code I used and an image of the resulting change), but I have not figured out how to get the full month to display instead of just the first three letters.]
  12. Site URL: https://frog-deer-fjt6.squarespace.com/tmc-dancers-profie Hi all, does anyone know the custom CSS to hide the blog date for blog posts and event pages below? https://frog-deer-fjt6.squarespace.com/tmc-dancers-profie Blog post example page: https://frog-deer-fjt6.squarespace.com/bios/sonam-patel Template Ethan.
  13. Site URL: https://www.unit-12.org/food-pantry-signup-1 As part of my job, I've been asked to simplify the application form for my organizations food pantry. Specifically, my boss wants me to replace the form where you choose a specific time to come collect your food at the pantry with a simple dropdown menu displaying the days in the week with their corresponding dates so customers can feel free to come any time during their chosen day. Here is the original form https://www.unit-12.org/community-food-pantry This service is only available to those living in Hampshire, so I also realised I need to remove or simplify some fields from the form which I found is impossible in Squarespace, especialy the Address form and I can't turn the phone number field into one single entrybox instead of four segmented ones. I'm still training myself in web design so, as far as I know, the best way to do this seems to be creating a new form from scratch - which I done so far. https://pastebin.com/E6hS7kwG Now here's the tricky part. I previously asked around for help with how to make a dropdown menu work the way I want and what I got so far is this... https://pastebin.com/VsrjZmUx I added this to the pages Advanced section, injecting it to the header code but I only found an empty dropdown menu. So I tried adding the script to the footer code in the Advanced > Code Injection settings page along with a jQuery script tag... Nothing worked. So what am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Site URL: https://www.likeneonlove.com/ Is there any code I can use that will change the date format of my blog posts? At the moment, my latest post reads "Apr 15", but I'd like it displayed as "15 April". I managed to change the format of my summary block using the below script, but I can't seem to get it working for my actual blog page. I'm using the Skye template. It's honestly infuriating that Squarespace STILL doesn't cater to its international customers. Having flexibility in changing date formats, US-based or not, should be a given for any website service! <script> // Changes the format of date on summary items var myObj = document.getElementsByClassName('summary-metadata-item--date'); var options = { year: 'numeric', month: 'long', day: 'numeric' }; for (var i = 0; i < myObj.length; ++i) { var item = myObj[i]; var date = new Date(item.innerHTML); item.innerHTML = date.toLocaleDateString('en-GB', options); } </script>
  15. I basilcally want to have a counter that keeps track of how many days since Jan 15, 2020
  16. Hi. I need a date picker for my store, when I edit the checkout -> Additional Fields -> Edit custom form I have the possibility to add custom form input for my checkout page. But the default date input is not a date picker. Do I have the possibility to add a custom form to my checkout using HTML/CSS ? I heard it can't be done with the checkout form for security reasons. Is this possible to add this kind of input for every product at once instead of editing it one by one ? Thank you for your help.
  17. Site URL: https://www.mom-me.dk/ Hi, How do I translate the name of the month on a blog post to another language?
  18. I'm working on a blog for a client and they'd like to have the blog post date displayed in a certain format on the blog page and blog post page. Unless I'm blind, I don't see any format/display options for dates. On the blog page itself, dates are showing up like this: 03/04/20, and on the actual blog post, the date shows up like this: Mar 4. I'd love to see ability to control date formatting (numbers, month names, hide year, show year, change the delimiters, etc). At the very least, be consistent across pages!
  19. Site URL: https://www.givespace.co/blog Hi, I'd like to change the format of dates on the blog list page (NOT the blog post), but it seems that there is no option to format dates in Squarespace. Currently, the format is DD/MM/YY and I'd like it to be written out in this format: Oct 8, 2021, so that it is consistent with my blog posts. I'm currently using this script to add the year to individual blog posts, but need a script that will reformat the dates on the main blog page. Thank you in advance for your help!! 😊 Blog Grid/List Page: ---- Individual Blog Post:
  20. Site URL: http://alextreadway.co.uk/journal Does anyone know how to change the date format on blog pages? Right now it's: Wednesday 10.13.21 I'm in the UK so would be much better like this for example: 13th October 2021 Is there a fix somehow? Thanks Alex
  21. Site URL: https://www.calvin.no/ On the front page https://www.calvin.no/, how do I go about changing these things? Date format from "MM/DD/YY" to "DD.MM.YYYY" "Read more" to "Les mer" And on blog post pages, like https://www.calvin.no/solo/korrespondentbrev Date format from "Oct 26" to "26. oktober" (and so on) In the contact form, https://www.calvin.no/kontakt, is it possible for me to change the labels under the name fields ("First Name" and "Last Name") to the Norwegian "Fornavn" and "Etternavn"?
  22. We are trying to and need to have the year after the date in a blog post. We are using the Skye Template. For example, the date just shows "Oct 2" how do we get it to display "Oct 2, 2019"?
  23. Site URL: http://www.outmontclair.org/events On our site's Events page (/events), the thumbnail images consistently give us problems. Most often the automatic sizing cuts off the edges of the image, either top and bottom or left and right. Is there a standard size that will always preserve the entire image? Or a piece of code that will ensure the entire image is preserved but will size it up or down appropriately to fit in the allowed box? Second, the square showing the date of the event is not wanted -- we would prefer that the date just be displayed in text on the right side of the page, with the other information about the event. We have found a piece of code that fixes this on our site's homepage but not yet on the /events page. Thank you for your help!
  24. Hi All, I'm wanting to make all my posts' dates be in the same format. For the Summary blocks the date is in DD/MM/YYYY format, which is fine. But in other sections of my site dates appear with the month spelled out as Month DD, YYYY - which I prefer. Does anyone have code to make the date format universal throughout the site? Thanks in advance!
  25. Hi! Anyone who can help me with this matter? I like to delete the share buttons and the last updated date in the forte template on the news/blogs section. I also like to get the date below the title, because in the mobile version title and date become one. this is the part i like to delete; i tried this for the shared buttons; /* Blog Page */ #view-list share-buttonss { display: none; } /* Blog Post */ #view-list share-buttonss { display: none; } also this style { .sqs-share-buttons {display: none;} .squarespace-comments {display: none;} } As for the date in the tilte i can hide it by; /* Blog Page */ .view-list .date { display: none; } /* Blog Posts */ .view-item span.date { display: none; But i don't know how to get it below the title for mobile version or for mobile and desktop if thats easier. If i dont hide it; this is wat it looks like on mobile;
