  1. Site URL: https://www.angelabritton.co.uk Hello! I'm just setting up my website on 7.1 - www.angelabritton.co.uk I don't know what the theme was called, sorry! It's not finished yet - so the password is Angela I have a simple category menu (centered) in my shop section showing abstracts | gifts | cards | other with a line separating it and the products. When you click into any category though, it disappears. I think this is silly as it needs to stay there for for the sake of aesthetics and usability (otherwise you have navigate back to the home page to get to the shop again). Confused as I'm coming from Shopify where this is just the norm. Can anyone help is layman's terms? I'm not super CSS literate 🙂 Thanks!
  2. Site URL: https://www.corgimedia.co Hi, I made a store with 3 categories, Presets, Prints and Merch. I want to hide the Prints from the main store, while keeping the merch and presets visible. I found a post that helped hide all products with the following code injection: is there a way to either manipulate this code or a new code that could do what I'm trying to achieve? Thanks
  3. Site URL: https://keyo2022.squarespace.com/ Howdy, Can't figure out how to display all my categories on single product pages. Nothing is showing at the moment but would love to add all categories as I currently have on each category page. See below JPG as reference. Im currently using the CSS below to show the categories links on each category page. Note: I saw there is a paid plugin with breadcrumbs, but would like to avoid that option with some code editing to show the above. Thanks! /* Show category nav links */ div.nested-category-tree-wrapper { display: flex !important; float: none !important; min-width: 100% !important; max-width: 100% !important; margin-right: 0 !important; } section.products.collection-content-wrapper.products-list { flex-direction: column !important; display: flex; } .nested-category-tree-wrapper>ul { width: 100% !important; display: flex; justify-content: center; align-items: baseline; color: black } .nested-category-tree-wrapper>ul li { margin-left: 3vw; } nav.nested-category-breadcrumb { display: none !important; } ul.nested-category-children { display: none !important; }
  4. Site URL: https://www.pollygoneillustration.com/shop I'm trying to get my product categories to appear on each page. For example, at the moment when you click 'new' the categories at the top disappear. How do I make them show on each category page?
  5. Site URL: http://www.ahmadjooma.com/shop Hello, I recently changed my template to Sofia Rey. (Squarespace 7.0) Everything is good except the categories do not show in the shop. I would like visitors to be able to filter by categories. ie. ALL / ART / Clothing etc. Here is my website link example: www.ahmadjooma.com/shop Kind regards, Ahmad
  6. Hello, I am trying to hide my "shop" title on the storefront page, but keep the category titles on each category page. My site is not live, but here are screenshots. Any help at all is appreciated. Thank you!
  7. Site URL: https://madeofwater.co.uk/ Hi, Is there a way to add meta descriptions to my category pages? Thank you in advance for your help, Joe Made of Water https://madeofwater.co.uk/
  8. Hi all, I sell single custom one off items that are pre-ordered by clients, once I've made the item I want to sell it via my website but obviously only want it available to the client who commissioned it. Ideally, I'd have a category within the shop that was password protected, but I don't think that's possible. Can anyone think of a solution to this issue, I'm sure I'm not the only one trying to do this Best regards Jason
  9. Site URL: https://www.moscowdrugclub.com/merch Hi, I'm trying to do something very simple, but can't figure it out! On this page: https://www.moscowdrugclub.com/merch I want to be able to link to the product categories, so that when someone clicks onto it it takes them to all of the products in that category. At the top of the page I've written the three categories (T shirts, CDs and downloads). We then have a little section below for each category with a 'shop now' button. I'd like to be able to click on T-shirts or the shop now in the shirts section below and it links to all of the t-shirts. The same for the other categories too. How do I create a link to a category like this? Or is this not possible? Many thanks in advance, Andy
  10. Site URL: https://www.drinkstrolley.com.au/shop Hi, Has anyone been able to hide certain categories in their store page? If so, how? I'm struggling with code, etc to make it happen. Am trying to hide 'the vault' category on the shop page - but still have it work (as it's part of a hidden/password page https://www.drinkstrolley.com.au/shop Thanks
  11. Site URL: http://mattretzlaff.com Is there a way to re-order the product categories on the Shop page? I need them to be: All / Large Scale / Tabletop and Wall / Garden right now my site is password protected because it's not yet live pw: retzlaff
  12. Site URL: https://www.thetinnedfishmarket.com/ Hi there! I would like to have the categories displayed in a sidebar navigation in one product page only. I can change it through the edit menu but unfortunately all the other product pages change too. The majority of my product pages have no categories, so it's pointless having all that blank space on the left. Is there any way to have the sidebar navigation in only one page? Or alternatively, is there any way to bypass the category navigation bar in all the other pages? Thanks in advance, Alfredito
  13. Site URL: https://www.halexhorns.com Dear All I have built my first Square Space website and have found online help here fantastic, with a solution to all my specific customisations and requirements except for the following, so was hoping someone might be able to suggest how to set this up or give a work around or some custom code. I wish to have the main store page display all my items except items tagged with the category 'Sold.' Then for there to be a second page (or Menu) with the title - Sold, that then the displays all the 'Sold' items and excludes all the items for sale. Or ideally instead of having a separate menu as currently setup, I would be really happy if it could be done within the main shop, so no items tagged 'Sold' are listed until you click on the 'Sold' Tag Shortlist button (currently hidden) then all the fro sale items will disappear. At the moment it is set up kind of how I want it but all the sold items are still listed in the shop for sale. I've successfully hidden the sold Menu Tag from the shortlisting menu. I then tried hiding the sold tagged items which solves the problem for the main Shop page but then the items of course disappear from the Sold page. I had though I might be able to have two Shop pages using the same products and then setup different display rules for each but this doesn't seem possible. The site is https://www.halexhorns.com and the password - Kruspe It would be amazing if any one has any thoughts how I can achieve either of my planned layouts. Thanks J
  14. Hey All! I'm working in the Nolan template on a blog page. Does anyone know how to move the categories out from above the post titles to the top or side of the page so it's a better UX? Currently, I'm only seeing the option to place them at the top of the post titles which looks messy and you can't tell it's a category. I attached a screenshot. Thanks! Lindy
  15. Site URL: https://accountingheart.com.au Client has a blog which doesn't currently have categories. Trying to set up a category master list so that they can go into each post and select categories to assign to. When I go into blog settings and Advanced, Manage Categories, it says To manage categories, add them to posts in this blog first. So I go into a post, then add in all categories, save, but then can still not add to master list per above. In some posts cannot save categories at all to individual posts. Feels like a bug somewhere?
  16. Site URL: https://www.dearfamilies.com/all-services/dear-mom Hello, Is it possible to have the categories show on a side bar in the product page? In this category page, the other categories show on the side: https://www.dearfamilies.com/all-services/dear-mom I would like the categories to show on my product pages as well: https://www.dearfamilies.com/all-services/p/dear-mom-8-week Thank you! @tuanphan
  17. Site URL: https://tuna-ladybug-3hgy.squarespace.com/shop/sale/2550 So, I don't currently have any item in a shop category but I don't want to delete it. Is there a way to display a message that says "check back soon" on empty pages? site:https://tuna-ladybug-3hgy.squarespace.com/shop/sale/2550 pass: brineintopedro
  18. Site URL: https://www.qnb-tuebingen.de/energieberaterinnen I would like to display the tags of a blogpost within the blogpost. I want them to be "listed" in the middle of the text. As I see it, I need a code block and custom css for this. I don't really know how to do it, though. This is how a blogpost should look like: Background: I use Squarespace to create a search system for our partner network (energy and building related). For this I use the blog system, because it allows practical features like categories/tags, excerpts and easy listing. I use the categories as exact job titles (energy consultant, carpenter, heating construction, electrical engineering etc.) and the tags for concrete services (construction planning, energy consulting, termography etc.). Our customers can now search for specific services or professions and get a list of all the craftsmen for that category/tag in our network. So for my purposes, the blogposts are profiles where the services offered should be listed. You can look up the site and the profils aka blogposts, but it is in German. Here is a list of energy conultant profiles (using summary blogs). https://www.qnb-tuebingen.de/energieberaterinnen I am grateful for any help!
  19. Site URL: https://www.plantshopmanchester.com/ Hi there! We currently have products sorted by categories, and you can view all the products by category using the drop-down menu. Problem is, I want to add a description for each category page as a text box below the category title. I can't do this currently, as the pages are Link pages which link to the category, and they aren't editable. I tried setting each Category up as a separate Store page, where I can add a block of text, but this means they won't show under the View All page, and I also can't add existing products to each page, I can only make new products for each page, and some products come up under multiple categories, so I don't want duplicates. For example, we have products under the 'Pet Friendly' category, which may also fall under the 'Bright Light' category. Does anyone have a work-around?
  20. Site URL: https://opossum-lily-kg6a.squarespace.com/config/ This applies to STORE CATEGORIES. I am trying to make the categories navigation menu into a drop down menu upon hover. Does anyone know the code for that and where to place it? Thank you in advance!
  21. Site URL: https://www.furnish-link.com/3dmodels I would like to make the product category navigation at the top of my site sticky when I scroll down the page but I cant really seem to figure it out. I have found this code online but it does not seem to work: .lessons .nested-category-children { position:sticky!important; top:0; z-index:99!important; background:#FFF!important } Please, any help would be greatly appreciated! Page URL: https://www.furnish-link.com/3dmodels
  22. Site URL: https://www.notsostock4x4.com/shop Hi, so I have items that are exclusive to one category, and I do not want those items to show up on the All category page for my shop. That page is auto-created by Squarespace and the items automatically go there. I have searched and searched to try and remove the item from the All category, but leave them in their own special category, but I can't find a way to do that. Is there any possible way to do that with code or am I missing a setting? I don't want the item to be hidden because I want it to be active. Hopefully this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  23. Hi there, I just got my first SS site up for my wife and about to start on mine, which will include an array of categories/topics and tags (I am about to purchase another paid subscription) After alot of reading, it seems like limiting categories and tags is best for SEO according to this article. My site will have Blog Posts, Podcast, and other Media that I would like to be able to filter by Category/Topic/Theme but as well as by Bible Reference, like book of bible + chapter, i.e , Psalm 50, or John 15, etc. I want to organize my site as best as I can from the beginning. Examples Posts: Post written on Psalms 42-46 with each Psalm tagged (i.e. #psalm 42 , #psalm46, etc. in addition to a some more metadata and topics or themes such as #book2 , #psalmsofkorah #refuge Many posts will just be on one passage, but include a a few themes My Goal: to strike a balance between well organized easily findable content + SEO. A few questions in light of this (1) Organizing How many Categories should a post have? Only 1? More than one? Should I have a tag for each reference, which would including two elements, "book of bible + chapter"? What are pros/cons to organizing "Media" within a Media page as opposed to using the "Blog" area and inserting the media within a new post? I liked what I saw regarding a 3rd party plugin "Universal Filter" and can see that that would be very helpful for organizing content on the site. I am not familiar with plugins, is this encouraged, dangerous, etc.? Pros/Cons to using only tags? Are Categories necessary? If I was to only use tags, are there SS functionality limitations that I am not aware of yet (very new user). (2) SEO Is it recommended to hide from search engines "All tag pages in this collection" option? Is it recommended to have fewer categories but more tags? Or does it really not matter if "hide from search engines" its used correctly? Really appreciate any guidance or direction. Thanks so much everyone.
  24. Site URL: https://news.smu.ca/news/category/Community As I'm sure most of you are aware, there are dynamic category pages generated automatically for every category. These pages feature a list of all the category posts with their full content. I used CSS to remove all the content but the headline and the date and let users link through to the full post by clicking the headline. I almost positive that until recently the headlines for those posts linked to the individual post pages. Now they don't, but weirdly the date links to the individual posts. Anybody else run into this? I've had to revert to showing all the content for each post on the category pages, but I don't like it.
  25. Site URL: https://www.lodestonetrainingandconsulting.com Is there a way to limit discounts so that they are applied only once in an order, even if there are two eligible items? We give a free seminar code to certain students, so the discount is connected to any products in the Seminar category. If our customer uses the code and has more than one seminar in the order, the discount is applied to all Seminars in their order instead of just one. I have tried using a 100% off discount, as well as an Amount Off discount (in the amount of one seat in a Seminar). Setting the Discount for a single product doesn't help because if they purchase more than one seat in the same Seminar, the discount is taken off both seats. I also limit it to one use, but i guess that applies to one order, not one item? Any help, or a viable work-around would be greatly appreciated.
