  1. Site URL: https://www.quadternityproductions.com/ I have a serious issue regarding the formatting of my website and I feel as if Custom CSS is my solution here. Depending on the monitor size and browser size of a screen, my website can get seriously jacked up. On my computer, the navigation bar is one line as intended, but friends appear differently. Even worse is on my rates page for my services, depending on the browser and screen size , the text gets all messed up bleeding into multiple lines. I have provided images as examples for what I have explained, and would really appreciate some help. This messes up the website for multiple people, and it was viewers of my website who brought it to my attention. Thanks! Images: Image 1 is what I want the navigation bar to look like, but image 2 & 3 is what many see. Image 4 is what my rates page should look like, but image 5 is what many see!
  2. Site URL: https://pelican-snail-erg5.squarespace.com/ I'm trying to make a similar side navigation/ status bar shown in the video. Would there be a way to do this in Javascript or CSS, or is there a plugin for it? Thanks, Zack side statusbar.mp4
  3. Site URL: https://aboutbeavers.squarespace.com Hi! I recently build a small portfolio website. It was important for me to always have a white website with black writing/menu. However, I saw my website on a friend's Android phone. And it turned out that (during the day!) the website was black. And also the burger menu was dark grey instead of black/white (depending of which page it is). I guess this is the dark mode that the browser enforces? Is there a code to prevent this from happening? On my iPhone there is always everything in white (see Screenshot) - even at night with system-wide dark mode. Best regards, Seeeeeg
  4. Site URL: https://www.studio-tess.com Hi guys, How do I change the text in the browser tab, net to the browser icon. Now it says 'Untitled' but I can't find how to change this. Thank you!
  5. Site URL: http://chjlegal.com Everything looks fine in Chrome but when using Safari body text looks weirdly spaced out. Looks like that on mobile as well. Website password is "pagina".
  6. Site URL: https://www.levelupcompanies.com/collocation-opportunities Site URL: https://www.levelupcompanies.com/collocation-opportunities I have added a code for an interactive map that I used the embed code from Awesome Tables website. But, when someone clicks on the page it doesn't show map until you refresh the browser. Is there a way to get it to work without refreshing the browser?
  7. Hi there, anyone knows if it's possible to use Autoprefixer in Squarespace 7.1 (possibly without an external editor)? It would be really useful since it will automatically adjust the code in order that it functions well on all browsers. Autoprefixer link: https://github.com/postcss/autoprefixer If not, is there another way to have the same result without manually going through all the code? Thanks!
  8. Site URL: http://kelliepaxian.com Hi everyone! I'm having a major problem that neither Squarespace, Apple, nor Instagram's support teams have been able to help me with, and it is losing me business by the day! My website kelliepaxian.com shows up with distorted formatting (eg. the banner image is extremely zoomed in) when opened via the Instagram app (but only for iPhone users it seems). I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like on a browser (ie. what it's supposed to look like) and what it looks like when opened through Instagram. This problem only arose within the last month or so. Squarespace says they are unable to help me because Instagram is not one of their supported browsers, but this is my primary marketing platform and where almost all my website traffic comes from. Things I have tried: Accessing from different phones Clearing my cache Using a different photo Cropping the photo differently Updating the app Any other suggestions would be SO appreciated! Thank you!
  9. Site URL: https://www.robinburgess.com/ On this website, some of the pdfs open in new tabs, while some are being downloaded. This seems inconsistent to me, because I link all pdfs in markdown with <a href="/s/link-to-.pdf" target="_blank">Linktext</a> However, the behavior of the pdfs changes, seemingly randomly. For example, when clicking on "DEMAND FOR ELECTRICITY ON THE GLOBAL ELECTRIFICATION FRONTIER", the pdf opens in a new tab, but for "WHY DO PEOPLE STAY POOR?", it downloads. I'm using Google Chrome, but I want the behavior to be the same across all modern browsers. I have already tried to force this with a site-wide code injection, but it didn't work. <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $('a[href*="pdf"]').click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); // stop the existing link from firing var documentUrl = $(this).attr("href"); // get the url of the pdf window.open(documentUrl, '_blank'); // open the pdf in a new window/tab }); </script>
  10. Site URL: http://www.helios-vr.com On the left is how it should and used to look and on the right is how it loads for some users. At first I thought it was chrome but I have a friend using chrome and he said its fine for him.
  11. Site URL: https://www.reapreapparel.com/ Something, probably in my code, is causing this site to show up poorly on safari and firefox. It shows up properly on Chrome. Any suggestions would be so helpful! Thank you!
  12. I am having some issues with a font (Proxima Nova Condensed) displaying differently on different computers and browsers. My teammate and I are both on Macs version 10.15.4 with all browsers up to date. Here's the goal: With the css like this, it works perfectly on my computer (chrome and firefox) but shows up with regular weight and not condensed on my teammates computer. It also has regular weight and is not condensed when I use safari. Safari version: When I change the code to this: It works on all of my browsers but shows up with a regular font weight rather than thin. Adding !important to font-weight didn't change anything. Any help is greatly appreciated! Ideally we'd like to use Proxima Nova Condensed Thin.
  13. Site URL: https://elephant-crane-cc3x.squarespace.com/ Hi, The font of my website is not shown in Microsoft Edge. Is there some custom CSS to solve this problem? Thanks ! It's like this: And this is how it should be (the font is Aileron)
  14. Hello, I have a portfolio site, and two of my lines that are supposed to be identical appear uneven. The top line appears heavier than the bottom line. Please see screenshot below. The way I added these was by clicking "add lines." They are both the same width from side to side). I tried disabling extensions, clearing cache, enabling cookies and JavaScript, making sure my browser is up to date, opening it on a different browser and in an incognito browser, and made sure my zoom was set to 100%. Nothing helped. Squarespace was unable to ensure that the lines would display evenly on every kind of browser as there are no built-in tools to prevent the uneven lines. They suggested using custom code on my site to force this behavior on different kinds of browsers. Has anyone ever run into the same problem? I am not so familiar with custom code, but can someone who is a coding expert suggest a way to override my problem? Thank you in advance.
  15. Site URL: https://mouse-trout-epjy.squarespace.com/ I have a custom button which is displaying fine in Safari & Chrome, but incorrectly on Firefox. I am trying to use @supports (-moz-appearance) but getting nowhere. First screenshot shows how it should be, with the arrow nicely padded: Second screenshot shows what Firefox displays, arrow sitting behind text & not padded: And here's my code: .sqs-block-button-element--small.sqs-block-button-element { font-family: 'Effra'; font-weight: bold; font-size: 44px; white-space: nowrap; background-color: transparent !important; background-image: url("//static1.squarespace.com/static/5f3690f6995b741710ab4824/t/5f58e97c7a515e6376f127c3/1599662460713/arrow.png"); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 90% 50%; background-size: 30%; padding-right: 5%; transition: all 0.3s ease 0s; } //fix button display issues on firefox// @supports (-moz-appearance) { .sqs-block-button-element--small.sqs-block-button-element { font-family: 'Effra'; font-weight: bold; font-size: 44px; white-space: nowrap; background-color: transparent !important; background-image: url("//static1.squarespace.com/static/5f3690f6995b741710ab4824/t/5f58e97c7a515e6376f127c3/1599662460713/arrow.png"); background-repeat:no-repeat; //this is the bit to be changed for FF// background-position: 10% 10%; background-size: 10%; transition: all 0.3s ease 0s; } } Does Squarespace not allow moz supports queries or am I just not targeting the element correctly?
  16. Site URL: https://www.couriergraphics.com/ Hey, My site is averaging 3.3 seconds to load, with peaks for 4, - 7 seconds to load. Does anyone have suggestions on this?
  17. Site URL: https://mabuhay.squarespace.com Hi! I'm using an Adobe font for one of my headings (H4) via custom CSS on 7.1. It's showing correctly on Chrome and Firefox but not on Safari. Any advice how to solve this issue? Code I'm using: h4 {font-family: Olicana !important; font-size: 50px;} Used in the footer on "The service you can trust". I have the same issue on some other pages where it's used in headings. The fallback font is also not the regular heading font I'm using on this website.
  18. Site URL: https://seabass-gopher-tg68.squarespace.com/ Hey guys, my page is https://seabass-gopher-tg68.squarespace.com/ and pw is 1234. 19. Site URL: https://corn-apricot-zn88.squarespace.com/portfoliodetails/lincolnhs-c2r3k-39zng https://corn-apricot-zn88.squarespace.com/portfoliodetails/lincolnhs-c2r3k-39zngop For this page I see it correctly in Chrome - on all three laptops. My boss and her boss however say that when they drag it to laptop the words get cut off. I asked my boss to reset with ctrl 0 but it still doesn't do anything for her. I am at a total loss. I keep having issues and no one is savvy enough with their laptops to tell me if they are maximizing the chrome window correctly etc. Everyone should have up to date browsers etc at our office. Can a few people check for me and if it's wonky, maybe provide some advice. It's hard for me to fix it when it looks right on my laptops! Below is what the text should look like after the images
  20. Site URL: https://www.frostwriter.com Hi! I have a website where there is a <textarea> tag is being used. It basically allows the user to type in something and download the content as a txt file. I wish to add a feature that shows a dialog box in the browser which asks "Are you sure you wish to close the browser without saving your work"? I want to add this so that the user doesn't lose their content and can be reminded to download it before leaving the page or refreshing the page. I saw some similar questions in stack exchange but neither of them worked on Squarespace. Any kind of help would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  21. Site URL: https://corn-apricot-zn88.squarespace.com/ i am having issues with Edge. My home page has an overlay of text that i supposed to be aligned with the logo on the left side. It works in Chrome but in Edge and IE it doesn't work. In Edge it is too far left and in IE the font is teeny. I have tried a few things like: _:-ms-lang(x), _:-webkit-full-screen, #block-4d7c97be77d43ef7bc95 { with CSS code changes here } but nothing budges it. PW is BA47. The code for the home page is the the header coding. HELP!!!
  22. Hey, I am making a domestic violence resource site, and I am looking for popups that when you click a link or button, it opens up your browser page incognito. The idea is that, the client want's an escape page for DV user to press if their abusive partner were to take their phones or look through their partner's internet browsing. If something like this exist as a plug in or if there is a code for this, that would be freaking great!
  23. Site URL: https://seabass-vuvuzela-ynfj.squarespace.com/ I added css #block-yui_3_17_2_1_1597694605564_14382 { column-count: 2; } and now this block is not visible in Safari 13 (catalina). On Chrome and FF, it looks ok. Any ideas? https://seabass-vuvuzela-ynfj.squarespace.com/
  24. Site URL: https://www.boutique14.co.uk/ When viewed in the Facebook mobile app in-built browser my site has a strange border on the right hand side. I can't see what could be creating this, there are no borders set on my site. On Safari and other mobile browsers it looks normal. I attach two screenshots, one showing what the Facebook app does with my site, the other showing how it should look (on Safari in this example). Any ideas? Thanks.
  25. Site URL: http://www.kerganedwards-stout.com Not sure if this is a coding issue, but when my site is viewed in a browser, instead of the browser tab just saying the site name, on certain pages, it says "General 1", "General 4," etc. Other pages appear normal. Also, when I post a URL onto Facebook, for example, the "General 1" etc shows up in the link as well. Any idea how to remove these??? Thanks in advance!
