  1. I'm looking for some simple CSS to hide the hyperlink when hovering over the name and bio image in the Author Profile at the end of each blog post. By default, when hovering over the name and the bio image, SQS links to the blog page. I don't want any hyperlink on the bio name or image. If that's not possible - then CSS to change the default hyperlink to another page on the site. Thank you!
  2. This code technically removes the words "written by" I need to close the space up between the bullet and the author name/link. .blog-meta-item.blog-meta-item--author.p-author.author { visibility: hidden; } a.blog-author-name { visibility: visible; } FYI: Site is under construction, but should NOT need access to it. This is a basic functionality question.
  3. I am looking for a blog review option so a guest blogger can preview the blog post prior to publishing it. I do not want the guest blogger to have any other access to the back end of the site - just the ability to preview the particular blog post(s) they are contributing to confirm it is good to publish. Is there a way to password protect an individual blog post for preview? Is there an option that will allow a guest blogger to only review their particular blog post(s) and not give them access to content from other guest bloggers? NOTE: Guest bloggers have already been added to the site as basic authors so I can designate each guest blogger as the author of their particular blog post(s). I considered password protection for a blog post, however, I am only seeing an option to password protect a blog page - not a particular post within that page. Additionally, I considered giving access to bloggers as contributors instead of as a basic author, but doing so will give access to additional content that I do not want a guest to have on the site (i.e. access to other guest bloggers' posts and content).
  4. I'm creating a blog for a client of mine -- and sometimes the posts will have more than 1 author. Is there any way to add multiple authors to a blog post so it displays each of their names as separate, clickable metadata entries in a summary block and on the post itself? And then also have two separate author profiles at the end of the blog post? I don't want to just put "X Smith & Y Doe" as the author name in Permissions given the above goals. Seems crazy that there wouldn't be a built-in feature to allow this functionality. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  5. Hey everyone, My site publishes work from both artists and writers. I'd like to be able to use the author metadata capabilities so that a reader can view all the work by a particular contributor. The issue I'm having is that I can't seem to figure out how to remove the "Written by" text before an author's name on a blog post in 7.1. Does anyone have any css tips and tricks that might be able to help me out? Thank you!!!
  6. Site URL: https://theindieauthorcollective.com/blog/blog-post-title-one-x7pad Hi all! I'm creating a new site with a blog that will have frequent guest posts, so I'm turning on the Author Profile option for the first time and am having trouble styling it with CSS—it's pretty basic and ugly by default. I've tried targeting it in Design→ Custom CSS with the .blog-item-author-profile-wrapper tag I found by Inspecting, but no CSS I apply after it makes any changes. I'd like to put a border around it and change the background color so it looks like a custom block rather than just blending in with the rest of the post text. I also want to make the text left-aligned and I would love to move the profile photo to the left of the text, but the latter might be asking too much. I had thought about faking the author bios with a summary block, but I need to be able to add links to guest posters' social media accounts and websites and haven't found a way to do that in summary blocks. Access code is "forumhelp" for the website link. Thanks for taking a look!
  7. Hello everyone, I was just hoping to get some feedback on my site as its just gone live. https://www.glartwork.com/ Any feedback will be greatly received. Thanks!
  8. Hello, I would like to enlarge the size of the author photo on my 7.1 site and move it to the left of the bio, instead of above it. I'd also love the option to have it be square instead of circle. I've tried a few things but haven't cracked it. Has anyone done this successfully? Here's the site if it's helpful (still in development): https://triceratops-maroon-kxrm.squarespace.com/ pw: nailed Thank you!
  9. Hi! I run a site for the local news outlet Waterbury Roundabout out of Waterbury, VT. We have a number of reporters & community contributors, and as such, many 'basic authors'. When selecting the author for a new blog post, I find that the dropdown of our contributors is completely randomized, neither alphabetical nor chronological. It is alphabetical in 'settings'>'permissions', but not the dropdown for some reason (see photo). Does anyone know of site functionality to alphabetize this list in the dropdown specifically? If not, is this something that Squarespace could address in a future update? It would be a big help - thanks in advance for any tips!
  10. Hello. I am struggling with the author pages in this site rudagt.squarespace.com Definetely I need a proper author page for each writter where the author profile is on top and similar as the author profile in the bottom of each blog post. 12. Site URL: https://fashionfilms.co.uk Hi, Thank you for taking the time to read this and special thanks if you have any thoughts on my new site that you would like to share. https://fashionfilms.co.uk We create fashion & beauty content & advertisements and are based in London. This is a portfolio site that hopefully will entice new clients. We have had a 7.0 site for a while and decided to upgrade and use iframe videos rather than gifs to animate thumbnails for links to our films. I am particularly interested in hearing about the following user experiences: Load times- the main page is quite video heavy. Is it making everything drag? Design- Is the home (main portfolio) page to frantic? Does the amount of moving content drive you nuts or keep you interested? Messaging- Is it clear what we do? Navigation- Did you find it easy to get around? Suggestions- Would love to hear any thoughts on any aspect of the site. Any way of making it faster? Thank you in advance
  13. Site URL: https://www.firebellymarketing.com/blog Hi, how can I align the author and category in the blog feed with more than one category or author for mobile? The layout is not aligned and has a lot of padding. Where can I find or edit this part? Please see screenshot below. Appreciate in advance any help for this. Thank you!
  14. Hello I'm doing an e-commerce site for a publishing house. In a product sheet, I would like to dynamically link one or more authors/illustrators to the product so that we can consult their biography and refer to all their works. Do you believe it is possible? Thanks
  15. So the long story short is I have my own personal photography site on Squarespace. I'm looking to start a second website with a second photographer. We're at a point where we'd like to setup a two week trial to experiment. Basically I'm fairly comfortable with Squarespace. She's not. When I setup the new site, it goes under my account and I'm the one with access to edit the site and manage it. Is there a way I can set it up so that both of us can do that? Thanks much! Angie

  19. Site URL: https://noahlangphotography.com/blog/hiking-ice-and-island-lake-san-juan-colorado I can't seem to get it with this simple css fix. a.author-website { display: none !important; } It works when I'm inspecting the element, but not when I try and apply to the back end of my site. The bottom of that blog page is one example but it's on all of the blog pages.
  20. Site URL: https://sugarandslimebiodesign.com/ I am trying to remove the author profile block that shows up on the bottom or side on Skye blog posts. The block takes up space on the page and moves all of the writing to the left. I don't see an option to remove it under site styles. Do I need to do this with custom css?
  21. Site URL: https://marmorevitrum.squarespace.com Hi, On my blog page and blog posts, in the Basic Grid layout, I would like Category meta to be above the Blog Title which it is, and the Author meta to be below the excerpt instead of the Read More link. Also, I would like it to read BY *AUTHOR'S NAME* and not just the author's name. Images of current layout and desired layout below. Thanks, Béa
