  1. I'm trying to create an anchor link using the <a name=""> tag. In this situation, I want to link to the contact form. The concept works if I'm hyperlinking from a text on the page to the contact form . However, it does not work if I'm hyperlinking from an outside page to the contact form on this page. It simply brings me to the top of the page. Does anyone know what the issue is? https://my360pt.com/lp-ppc-general#contact
  2. Site URL: https://opticair.co.uk/ Using the Sonora template, I have my home page set up as several sections, with anchor links within a fixed position primary navigation to enable the user to quickly navigate around the page, with a tidy scrolling visual effect. This would work (and has worked) fine if this were the only page on my site, using the link format '#section-name' to take the user to 'domain.co.uk#section-name'. There are additional pages in my site, which the user can access through links within the body of the home page and on which the primary navigation is obviously still displayed. However, the primary navigation links in the format '#section-name' do not work from this page as they attempt to take the user to 'domain.co.uk/subpage#section-name' and the sections do not exist within the sub page. I addressed this by changing the primary navigation link format to '/home#section-name', which solves the problem when navigating from the sub page. However, now when using the links whilst already on the home page, the link takes the user to the correct section, but the scrolling effect does not always show. On the first click of a primary navigation link (whichever link) after loading the site, the page reloads, rather than scrolling, with the appended '/home' (from 'domain.co.uk' to 'domain.co.uk/home#section-name'), landing the user at the correct section. Upon clicking any further links, the scrolling effect shows correctly as the '/home' page is already loaded in the address bar. What I would like to achieve is that when using the primary navigation when already viewing the home page, the content always scrolls, whether it is the first click of a link or not. When clicking the link from any other page, it already correctly loads the home page at the required section; no scrolling is required here as the user is actually navigating to another page. Two possible solutions I can think of are either to force the site home page to always show its full 'domain.co.uk/home' url upon loading, rather than just 'domain.co.uk', or to make the primary navigation links dynamic so that on the home page they take the format '#section-name' but on all other pages they take the format '/home#section-name'. I do not know how to implement either of these ideas. I have also considered having the sub page content open in something like a lightbox, rather than a separate page, to avoid navigating away from the home page at all, but I expect the site to grow and this will not be suitable for all future content, so I would rather address this by other means. Can anyone help with implementing either of my suggested solutions, or does anyone have any other solutions? I have tried to be thorough but this seems like a lot of explanation for a simple issue! Hopefully there is a simple solution. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello,I've pasted a long essay (with footnotes) on a single page in the Miller template. Iā€™m anchor-linking the 25 footnote numbers to the corresponding footnotes at the bottom of the page. So far so good, BUT I'd like for readers to be able to click the number of the bottom-page footnote to return them to the original footnoted text. Is it possible to create a two-way anchor link (as with the red hyperlinked Kindle footnotes in the attached image)? Thank you!
  4. Hey everyone! We are building a site in 7.1 and are not sure how to add anchor links like we are used to in 7.0, does anyone have a solution to this? We want to link a bit of text up at the top of our homepage to a section towards the bottom of our homepage. Thanks!
  5. Site URL: https://www.worldofecho.org/privacy I've placed anchor links in buttons and all seem correctly configured. But when I click the button, it first refreshes the page and only then, after a second click on the button, will the page bring me to the anchored location on the website. The only thing I can think of is that the url slug .../privacy doesn't end on a '/'. But when I try update the url slug of the page to '/privacy/' and click save, Squarespace automatically turns it back to '/privacy'. Any ideas what to do here?
  6. Site URL: https://www.seniorpharmassist.org My anchor links from buttons to a segment of another page work just fine when I'm logged in, but when I or anyone else visits the actual site, they don't work. Help? My code on one button: /medicarecomponents/#C (have also tried with the full site name) As the header of the segment: <h1 id ="C"> Part C</h1> Thank you! Jane
  7. Site URL: https://diversitymattersbyrudy.squarespace.com/resources Hi - I'm having issues with my anchor links not working in Firefox. I can't seem to find a fix anywhere. Works great in Chrome. Any ideas? Thanks!
  8. I've been working hard on this, on and off for a few months. I've had it working for a while, but it was never perfect. Today I finally decided to try and wrap it up. If you are interested, I will need you to send me a PM. I need to get a little more testing done to make its its 100%. This is where I am at so far. If I am missing anything, let me know. Allows for custom link text, so you will be able to see mysite.com/home#customtext, not a bunch of gibberish Correct anchor position, right at the top of the section, not below the padding by adding an anchor in a code block Correct location on a page refresh Correct location on a redirect from a different page Fast and efficient, the only hold up in the code is waiting for 7.1 to load THIS IS FREE!!! This isn't a plug in, to be honest I don't even know what a plug in looks like for squarespace. This is code I wrote, that I use on my customers sites. Its been changed, evolved, modified, over the past 6 months, and anyone is welcome to use it. Anyway, if anyone wants to test it out, and help me get to the final stage of this, let me know via PM. Thanks.
  9. I installed an anchor link on my homepage in Squarespace 7.1 and when i click the link it jumps to the section instead of scrolling down to it. I'm using a CODE block with a DIV ID in the section I want to scroll to. see code below: <div id="pp"></div> and for the text link I put: /homepage/#pp It doesn't scroll, it just loads the section that has the Code Block with ID. Any help is appreciated. Thx
  10. Site URL: https://nextcitylawyer.com/free-resources/the-truth-about-virtual-vacation-schemes Good afternoon I have added anchor links to the blog posts on my website in order to make it easier for visitors to navigate long blog posts. The anchor link functionality works well, but the code block includes a substantial amount of top and bottom padding which breaks up the page. It's more than the equivalent with a conventional h3 header. <p id="attitude"><h3> 1. Attitude </h3></p> This is an example of the code that I have used on the linked page. Is there a way to reduce the vertical padding between the blocks of the text? Thanks for your help in advance. I regard anchor links as a core feature of any blogging platform so it would be very useful to get some guidance on this issue.
  11. Site URL: https://bassoon-dog-tknb.squarespace.com Hi, My site p/word is: SandraCB My site has been working perfectly well until suddenly the anchor links I have set up on the main centred Navigation Menu only take you to the top of the relevant page, not where the anchor link is placed if you are jumping from one Navigation Page anchor link to different Navigation Page anchor link. The code injection I have in the advanced section is: <script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $( document ).ready(function() { $(".Header-nav-folder-title").eq(0).prop('href', '/aboutus2'); $(".Header-nav-folder-title").eq(1).prop('href', '/wines2'); $(".Header-nav-folder-title").eq(2).prop('href', '/sustainability2'); $(".Header-nav-folder-title").eq(3).prop('href', '/news-and-views2'); $(".Header-nav-folder-title").eq(4).prop('href', '/visit2'); }); </script> The code used on each Navigation Title is for example: <a href="/aboutus2">About Us</a> The anchor link on each paragraph is for example: <p id="the-history"> </p> For example: If you click on Wines and then try to click on History under the About Us menu it takes you only to the top of the About Us page, not the History section where the anchor link is placed. However if I were on the About Us page and clicked the History link it will take me to the correct anchor link for the History section on that page. Thanking you in advance!
  12. Hi I added an anchor link the main landing page. The link goes to the right place but instead of scrolling down it looks like it's jumping to another page. How can I do "scroll down" effect? It's the main page button "Get started" www.personalchefberlin.de password: june
  13. Hi, I'm using anchor links on a couple of pages, but due to the header/nav bar being fixed, the top part of text (from where anchor link jumps to) is hidden beneath the header/nav bar. Any suggestions for how to change this please? Website isn't public yet and using the Bedford template. Thanks
  14. Site URL: https://www.transactinc.com/liquids I'm currently using a plug-in for my site to create tabs on one of my pages. I'd ideally like to create anchor links for each of the tabs so that I can link to the specific content from other pages of the site. I've created the anchor links, but it just keeps taking me back to the top of the page. Is it possible to link to the specific tab?
  15. Site URL: https://www.chriszforma.com/priorities/ On my page I have 6 images and they have as their URL the jump to the anchor ID found lower on the same page. However, the jump to the anchor goes past the header that holds the anchor. it jumps to the middle of the paragraph below the <h3> header that hold the anchor id. How can I get it to jump to and display the header?
  16. Site URL: https://gazelle-tetra-6em8.squarespace.com/general For the site - https://gazelle-tetra-6em8.squarespace.com/general password: DevTeam The anchor links under the dropdown FAQ aren't working as expected. 'Applicants' and 'Supporters' are supposed to scroll down the FAQ page (/general) to the relevant headings. The Applicants link only works some of the time.
  17. Site URL: https://indigo-dogfish-mnkf.squarespace.com/config/design/image-blocks My site is one continuous scrolling home page (except for the contact page). I would like to set it up so that if anyone wants to click on a "page" in the title bar they would still jump to that "page" in the scroll. Is that possible? I have been advised to use anchor links but then would need to upgrade to a business plan. Any other suggestions welcome. PLEASE NOTE: At the moment I have kept some pages that link back to the demo website just as placeholders.
  18. Site URL: https://www.herefortherightriesling.com/ Hello, Is there a way to add an anchor link to link within the same page within the template that I chose? I just want to link a word at the top of the page to jump down to the middle of the page, but for some reason no where in this template allows me to add in custom code block? Any suggestions or work arounds? Thank you!
  19. Site URL: https://www.taffguard.com/sizing-and-configurations/ On the linked page, I have four anchor links, which can be accessed with the buttons on the right side of the page. I cannot convince the fourth, "Pocket Filter Configuration" to work. I've tried copying the working links' code and just replacing the ID, I've tried entering the code manually, and I've tried variations on the code, and I get no results.
  20. Site URL: https://pacific-demo.squarespace.com/ I'm having difficulty working with jump links. What I want to achieve is a navigation like the Pacific family templates. They allow for the use of jump links embedded in the navigation bar. I'm struggling to find a way to implement this functionality with a more customised fixed header layout. Specifically, I want to have a left aligned logo, and right aligned navigation/page links. I feel like this shouldn't be too difficult, but I can't find a work around. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Thanks
  21. Hi there, I've just switched templates on my website and now my code blocks won't run properly. The browser link is correct but it's like it won't load. If I mark and enter manually the popups works like it always did. I've already switched off Ajax Loading so instead of not just working it won't throw you back to a preview site for whatever reason =/ Anyone got any tips? I've tried altering my code but it's not permanent solves that are useful.. I know Squarespace is the culprit but what am I doing wrong after I activated this new template?
  22. Site URL: http://www.mitchbakker.com I am running into an issue (Brine Template) where the Home Page (/home) Primary Nav Menu utilizes Anchor Links (#example), which properly auto scrolls to a place on the Home Page with content relating to #example, but then clicking through to a new "Example" page (/example), ends up retaining the same Primary Nav Menu...which then is broken (because #example only works on the Home Page (/home)). Essentially, I'm wondering how best to implement Relative Links in Squarespace? How are you folks utilizing an anchor link in a nav menu, and then redirecting back to the home page after that? If you visit the site soon after this posting, you'll find that the closest solution I can come up with is to include: /home#blog in the Nav Menu, so that it at least redirects back home. But even then, it's not going to that section on the Home Page for some reason X) Thoughts? Thanks, folks!
  23. I want certain links to jump to certain sections on a page. For example, I have a section called "evaluation". I added a code block containing only <p id="evaluation"></p> and made it really small and put it inside the evaluation section of the page. I have a link to understandingimpact.com/services/#evaluation. The link goes to the evaluation section of the services page, but it jumps to close to the bottom of the evaluation section, not the top. My code block is tiny and right at the top so I don't know why this is happening. I have three sections on this page, each with a code block establishing an id, and all of the links jump to the bottom of the section I want them to go to, instead of the top where the code block is.
  24. Hello, I created anchor links on my website that work fine on desktop and tablet, but when you switch to mobile the anchor links become a hamburger menu and when you enter that menu none of the anchor links work. Has anyone else experienced this?
  25. I built a single scroll site using Brine with anchor links tied to my main nav links for the continuous scroll effect. To change the parallax images on the team section for mobile, I created duplicate mobile only pages that are hidden from the desktop view with custom CSS. The mobile team page has the same TEAM anchor link, but the mobile nav won't read it (maybe because the other one is hidden?). Is there a way I can hide the TEAM link in mobile and create a separate nav link (maybe titled Or Team) tied to a new anchor point in the mobile only page? Or another workaround for this? Hope that makes sense! For reference: https://www.publichousepictures.com/
