  1. Site URL: https://mommytomom.com/ Hi everyone. I would like to enable Ajax loading on my site but it doesn't work with my social sharing buttons and code I use on a few pages. I am not very knowledgeable with coding so I wanted to ask here if there is anything I can do. Is there a code you can add that makes the page refresh each time? I disabled Ajax for now but can turn it back on to troubleshoot if needed. The social buttons I'm referring to are through Shareaholic, they only show up if you refresh the page. Thanks in advance for any help :) Code injection <!-- BEGIN SHAREAHOLIC CODE --> <link rel="preload" href="https://cdn.shareaholic.net/assets/pub/shareaholic.js" as="script" /> <meta name="shareaholic:site_id" content="73ca7139ab230a40546bce24cbe1c713" /> <script data-cfasync="false" async src="https://cdn.shareaholic.net/assets/pub/shareaholic.js"></script> <!-- END SHAREAHOLIC CODE --> The other code I'm referring to I only have on my secondary navigation pages that I want to look like landing pages. It removes the header and footer. https://mommytomom.com/want-to-work-from-home Pages settings, advanced <style> .Header, .Footer, .Mobile-bar, .Mobile-bar--top, .sqs-announcement-bar-custom-location{ display:none !important; } </style>
  2. Hello! (First Time Here) I'm running into issues with a javascript not loading in a code block for a video player I am trying to implement. The scripts work and load on a local implementation and on a non-squarespace hosted implementation. Here is the code in question: <meta charset="UTF-8"> <html> <head> <script src="https://www.mysite.xyz/vendome/js/jquery-3.1.0.min.js"></script> <script src="https://www.mysite.xyz/vendome/js/jquery.cookie.js"></script> <script src="https://www.mysite.xyz/vendome/webrtc.js"></script> </head> <body> <div class="div-section"> <table> <tr> <td><input type="hidden" id="sdpURL" size="50" value=""/></td></tr> <tr> <td><input type="hidden" id="applicationName" size="25" value=""/></td></tr> <tr> <td><input type="hidden" id="streamName" size="25" value=""/></td></tr> <tr> </table> </div> <div class="div-section"> <video id="remoteVideo" autoplay playsinline controls muted style="width:1000px;"></video> </div> <td><input type="button" id="buttonGo" onclick="start()" value="" /></td> <input type="button" id="buttonCheckStream" onclick="getAvailableStreams()" value="Get Available Streams" /> <script type="text/javascript"> pageReady(); </script> <div> <span id="sdpDataTag"></span> </div> </body> </html> jquery.cookie.js will not load causing the next scripts to not function. When you load the page we get "Uncaught TypeError: $.cookie is not a function". I'm fairly certain that the jquery scripts aren't loading twice and over writing eachother like other posts have suggested. I've tried renaming the the cookie.js as well but no luck. Could this have something to do with AJAX? Is there anything we could do to force the scripts to load? Any advice is appreciated! (Excuse the bad HTML, I'm from a python background.) EDIT: The template is AJAX compatible and the option is enabled.
  3. Hi, Am using contact form on Squarespace. After form submission gets all values in a javascript file. Tried below ways: POST-SUBMIT REDIRECT -> http://rpadmanaban-dev.apptivo.net/create.js This field did not accept the script file Another Way: Code injection fields ->this script called the form reload functionality. I need after submission called the script file
  4. Site URL: http://adamcale.co.uk Hello, I had a few pages on my site where the footer was floating as the content didn't fill the page (past/present/future pages). I added the following code to these pages to fix the footer to the bottom. <style> #footer { position: fixed; bottom: 0; left: 0; right: 0; } </style> Whilst this works in the Squaraspace builder it doesn't work on the live site because of ajax loading. Is there any way to override ajax for just these pages? Or is there a better piece of code i can use across the whole site? If i use the current code for the whole site then the footer locks to the bottom of the window and sits on top of my content rather than below it - which i don't want. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks Disclaimer: my coding knowledge only goes as far as google > copy > paste.
  5. Site URL: http://addisonstreetspa.com/book-private I deployed a Mindbody widget using a code box, and the widget displays fine but is not clickable. Mindbody support says to disable ajax loading, but Squarespace v7.1 does not support ajax loading, so this fix is no longer applicable. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it??
  6. Hello I have a Calendly Integration on a webpage that doesn't load properly unless I disable AJAX loading. The thing is that I want AJAX loading enabled, so I would like to paste some code in the heading of the page using Page Injection that disable AJAX loading for this single page. Can anyone help me with the exact code needed to do this? Thanks in advance
  7. Site URL: https://www.onlinekarma.ch/ It would be great if you could enable Ajax Loading (asynchronous JavaScript and XML) aka. Lazy Loading for the Bedford Template. Are there plans to implement this? It would help for page-speed and thus SEO. Thank you.
  8. Site URL: https://www.sculptedbybee.com/ I have installed a sentry log in widget that is functional to a point, however it does not disappear after logging you in nor does it land you on the correct page. I have to manually close the log in box and choose the member page. My squarespace template does not have a disable ajax option, is there a workaround?
  9. Hi, as many of you I am using 3rd party code (Typeform for my site) I had some issues with code not loading when navigating internally in the menu to the page where the code was supposed to load. It was working well with reloading the page, but not an acceptable solution ! - There were some tips including disabling ajax (which is the repsonsible) but with major drawbacks regarding sitespeed - i found a great solution here : https://read.compassofdesign.com/typeform-squarespace-2e08bdf05113 Thanks Juliane Bone and Compass of design Which is very simple : move the page with code to unlinked section Set up a link in the main nav and link it to full url : not /codepage but https://yoursite.com/codepage Works great !
  10. Site URL: https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/archive/magicalcrisis Hello! password= test my site uses the maple theme which is part of the brine family, because of this it is supposed to have ajax loading/lazy loading of images. The ajax loading works properly on normal pages, but does not work on blog posts, this is especially clear when viewe on mobile, the images on the blog load slowly because there are so many high resolution images that are all being loaded out of order, so even if the viewport is at the top of the page, resources are being used to load images at the bottom thus making image loading at the top very slow this page works properly with the ajax https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/testajax this blog post does not https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/archive/magicalcrisis I only have the squarespace personal plan, I know that there is a lazy loading plugin available for plans with code injection however I would prefer not to upgrade just to get lazy load when it is supposed to be included. How can I make lazy load/ajax load work properly for blog posts on the personal plan while using the brine theme? it is my understanding that this is supposed to work automatically and is a bug. Is there a work around without upgrading?
  11. Site URL: https://www.websimpelsnel.nl/workshop-opgeven Hello people, Could you please explain what are the long term consequences of disabling ajax loading? Thanks in advance. I just disabled ajax loading to prevent the problem mentioned here: My eventbrite embed code didn't load (only after refreshing the page), just like the post below. I've found the solution in the post: this link https://sf.digital/squarespace-solutions/why-doesnt-my-code-work-until-i-refresh-the-page
  12. Hi, I am trying to understand if we can create a plugin for Squarespace (like a WordPress plugin) and how / where to get started. Background: We are currently injecting our JavaScript library in the head of Squarespace sites to enable our product presentation function on pages. Our plugin function currently looks for specific html on a single root slug e.g. mysite.com/product/ and then, based on the query passed, gets and then loads content (ajax) on to a product page and updates the URL like this: mysite.com/product/?product_id=...... Problem: However, when done like this, the underlying page 'meta' and 'og' tags all remain the same - so we get no SEO benefits at all as the content is all loaded with JavaScript after the page is seen by a browser (and sharing is a problem too). Goal: We want to create a more sophisticated general Plugin that would do the same BUT, based on the query string also controls the generation of a page including setting the page headers ('meta' and og tags based on the product) etc - before the page is output. We have created such a plugin for WordPress - and we have a PHP Class that does this with PHP - and so we are comfortable with coding etc. Question: I am trying to find out how to do this with Squarespace. Can anyone confirm that this can be done? .. and also recommend a specific resource / article etc that explains generally how this can be created for Squarespace - and perhaps a road map for development? We just want a road to head down - but so far I have been unable to find any resources or guidance on where to start. thank you!
  13. What’s up everyone, I was wondering if anyone in the community would know how to implement a “lazy load” or “Ajax load” so that images load when they’re appeared instead of right when the page loads. I think https://grovemade.com looks super cool, I think they’re using JavaScript to load a super small version of their images then adding a CSS blur so the perceived load time is a lot faster. Can this be done with a Squarespace template?
  14. I'm using Markdown to create an expanding accordion menu. When you first view the page, the text is hidden. You can click to expand a drop down accordion menu that displays nested text. The issue is that the expanded text messes up the way elements below it on the page display. It looks like the images and backgrounds below the markdown do not respond to the expanded text and remain in their initial position, but the text below the markdown does respond to the expanded text and moves further down the page. The result is that the text appears to overlay or overflow on top of the content beneath the markdown. I already contacted Squarespace support and they verified that this issue was not a known issue, that it is not currently in the works for resolution, and that it has nothing to do with my custom CSS. They suggested I ask the forum, so I'm coming to you guys! The structure for the site I'm using to illustrate this is as follows:Brine templateIndex with pagesSolid color blocks are their own pagesFull bleed images with parallax are their own pages with the image set as the background for the page Here is the Markdown basic structure: <details> <summary>Click to expand!</summary> content goes here </details> Illustrated on this Github forum here: https://gist.github.com/pierrejoubert73/902cc94d79424356a8d20be2b382e1ab I saw in other questions that some issues with Markdown could be resolved by disabling Ajax loading. I have disabled it and still see the issue. Would love some help with this! Website: teese.squarespace.comPassword: teese
  15. Hi community, I'm using the Burke Template from the Brine family and have a fullscreen video background on my landing page. It works on computers and it used to work on mobile phones as well. Today I changed two small things in the site-stlye: 1. I changed the color of the mobile bar, 2. I activated ajax loading. After these changes were saved, I reloaded the mobile page and the video background was gone. I suspected ajax loading to be the reason so I deactivated it again, but the video background still doesn't show anymore. Any hints on this? Thanks, Leander
  16. Hi I have created one page and i am sending data to my other site through third party api url on jquery click event , but when i am submitting form my api is not calling. E.x $(document).on('click', 'target', function () { // ajax code here })
  17. On a “York” template [index] page, I use jQuery {Header Code Injection} to modify the URL of a [Page] link on that [index], allowing me to effectively add a [Link] to an [index] with a photo background that is displayed with the rest of the content on the [index]. The code works fine when the [index] loads or is hard-refreshed by the browser. It does not work after Ajax is used to soft-refresh only the [index] page content and not the <head>, <footer>, or other surrounding elements. This happens consistently when users navigate around the site. Squarespace notes this Ajax usage in the “York” template docs, specifying it cannot be removed. (See: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/218212297-York-structure-and-style#toc-page-loading) My question: How do you detect an [index] Ajax reload in Squarespace and subsequently re-run {Header/Footer Code Injection} using jQuery (or an alternate method)? For clarity when talking about traditional web and Squarespace features simultaneously: “Squarespace proper names " [ Squarespace page types ] { Squarespace settings } < Standard HTML >
  18. When javascript has been added to a newer template, it doesn't always work until the page/site is refreshed. Why?
