  1. Site URL: https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/archive/magicalcrisis Hello! password= test my site uses the maple theme which is part of the brine family, because of this it is supposed to have ajax loading/lazy loading of images. The ajax loading works properly on normal pages, but does not work on blog posts, this is especially clear when viewe on mobile, the images on the blog load slowly because there are so many high resolution images that are all being loaded out of order, so even if the viewport is at the top of the page, resources are being used to load images at the bottom thus making image loading at the top very slow this page works properly with the ajax https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/testajax this blog post does not https://plane-tunny-45nr.squarespace.com/archive/magicalcrisis I only have the squarespace personal plan, I know that there is a lazy loading plugin available for plans with code injection however I would prefer not to upgrade just to get lazy load when it is supposed to be included. How can I make lazy load/ajax load work properly for blog posts on the personal plan while using the brine theme? it is my understanding that this is supposed to work automatically and is a bug. Is there a work around without upgrading?
  2. Site URL: https://www.websimpelsnel.nl/workshop-opgeven Hello people, Could you please explain what are the long term consequences of disabling ajax loading? Thanks in advance. I just disabled ajax loading to prevent the problem mentioned here: My eventbrite embed code didn't load (only after refreshing the page), just like the post below. I've found the solution in the post: this link https://sf.digital/squarespace-solutions/why-doesnt-my-code-work-until-i-refresh-the-page
  3. Site URL: http://addisonstreetspa.com/book-private I deployed a Mindbody widget using a code box, and the widget displays fine but is not clickable. Mindbody support says to disable ajax loading, but Squarespace v7.1 does not support ajax loading, so this fix is no longer applicable. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it??
  4. Hi, I am trying to understand if we can create a plugin for Squarespace (like a WordPress plugin) and how / where to get started. Background: We are currently injecting our JavaScript library in the head of Squarespace sites to enable our product presentation function on pages. Our plugin function currently looks for specific html on a single root slug e.g. mysite.com/product/ and then, based on the query passed, gets and then loads content (ajax) on to a product page and updates the URL like this: mysite.com/product/?product_id=...... Problem: However, when done like this, the underlying page 'meta' and 'og' tags all remain the same - so we get no SEO benefits at all as the content is all loaded with JavaScript after the page is seen by a browser (and sharing is a problem too). Goal: We want to create a more sophisticated general Plugin that would do the same BUT, based on the query string also controls the generation of a page including setting the page headers ('meta' and og tags based on the product) etc - before the page is output. We have created such a plugin for WordPress - and we have a PHP Class that does this with PHP - and so we are comfortable with coding etc. Question: I am trying to find out how to do this with Squarespace. Can anyone confirm that this can be done? .. and also recommend a specific resource / article etc that explains generally how this can be created for Squarespace - and perhaps a road map for development? We just want a road to head down - but so far I have been unable to find any resources or guidance on where to start. thank you!
  5. What’s up everyone, I was wondering if anyone in the community would know how to implement a “lazy load” or “Ajax load” so that images load when they’re appeared instead of right when the page loads. I think https://grovemade.com looks super cool, I think they’re using JavaScript to load a super small version of their images then adding a CSS blur so the perceived load time is a lot faster. Can this be done with a Squarespace template?
  6. I'm using Markdown to create an expanding accordion menu. When you first view the page, the text is hidden. You can click to expand a drop down accordion menu that displays nested text. The issue is that the expanded text messes up the way elements below it on the page display. It looks like the images and backgrounds below the markdown do not respond to the expanded text and remain in their initial position, but the text below the markdown does respond to the expanded text and moves further down the page. The result is that the text appears to overlay or overflow on top of the content beneath the markdown. I already contacted Squarespace support and they verified that this issue was not a known issue, that it is not currently in the works for resolution, and that it has nothing to do with my custom CSS. They suggested I ask the forum, so I'm coming to you guys! The structure for the site I'm using to illustrate this is as follows:Brine templateIndex with pagesSolid color blocks are their own pagesFull bleed images with parallax are their own pages with the image set as the background for the page Here is the Markdown basic structure: <details> <summary>Click to expand!</summary> content goes here </details> Illustrated on this Github forum here: https://gist.github.com/pierrejoubert73/902cc94d79424356a8d20be2b382e1ab I saw in other questions that some issues with Markdown could be resolved by disabling Ajax loading. I have disabled it and still see the issue. Would love some help with this! Website: teese.squarespace.comPassword: teese
  7. Hi community, I'm using the Burke Template from the Brine family and have a fullscreen video background on my landing page. It works on computers and it used to work on mobile phones as well. Today I changed two small things in the site-stlye: 1. I changed the color of the mobile bar, 2. I activated ajax loading. After these changes were saved, I reloaded the mobile page and the video background was gone. I suspected ajax loading to be the reason so I deactivated it again, but the video background still doesn't show anymore. Any hints on this? Thanks, Leander

I need after submission called the script file
  10. On a “York” template [index] page, I use jQuery {Header Code Injection} to modify the URL of a [Page] link on that [index], allowing me to effectively add a [Link] to an [index] with a photo background that is displayed with the rest of the content on the [index]. The code works fine when the [index] loads or is hard-refreshed by the browser. It does not work after Ajax is used to soft-refresh only the [index] page content and not the <head>, <footer>, or other surrounding elements. This happens consistently when users navigate around the site. Squarespace notes this Ajax usage in the “York” template docs, specifying it cannot be removed. (See: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/218212297-York-structure-and-style#toc-page-loading) My question: How do you detect an [index] Ajax reload in Squarespace and subsequently re-run {Header/Footer Code Injection} using jQuery (or an alternate method)? For clarity when talking about traditional web and Squarespace features simultaneously: “Squarespace proper names " [ Squarespace page types ] { Squarespace settings } < Standard HTML >
  11. When javascript has been added to a newer template, it doesn't always work until the page/site is refreshed. Why?
