  1. I'm looking to create an accordion that will expand/hide content when the user clicks on 1 of 6 icons in a row. The icons serve as buttons essentially, with an active, hover and inactive state. I'm using the Brine template. Here are the functions I need: The icons have a text label below them (likely H3 text). Icons have an active, hover, and inactive state. The accordion will automatically hide whatever active content is showing when the user clicks a different icon. The content that would show/hide below would include an image with a header and text to the side of it for each icon. I want the icons to be in a single row until the screen size gets to mobile widths so that the content that shows on the user's click always falls below the row of icons. This means that as the screen width narrows, the icons and text likely need to scale down so they fit in a single row on tablet screen widths. On mobile, I want the icons and text to stack and have the content be revealed below each icon (similar to the example image in the following topic, except the + icon would be my icons: I'm trying to create all of the various content blocks so a coder can go in and create the jquery to enable all the behaviors, but I need to know what kind of content blocks to use. If I just use image blocks with text blocks below them for each icon, I don't think I can keep the icons in a single row or scale things according to the screen width. If I use a gallery or summary block, I don't know how the active/hover/inactive states could be implemented. If anyone who has done something similar can advise me on the content blocks to use to get all of the above functionality, that would be very helpful. For context, the page I'm trying to implement this on is here: https://www.superiorfresh.com/organic-greens. Under the header "Good for You, Good for the Planet" there are 6 images with a header/paragraph below them. I would replace those with the row of icons, and then clicking would reveal the image and paragraph below. I've also attached some images of what I'm hoping it will look like when complete.
  2. hi there, I have been editing this site over last week, and figuring things out as i go along. Today when i'm finally happy with the bare bones of the site and was planning to start adding and editing content i realize my accordion menu code blocks are to working. site: https://e-kytex.com/items code originally used: https://codepen.io/brenden/pen/Kwbpyj i have had zero problems with these working until now, and i am honestly stumped as to what exactly is interfering.
  3. Hello, I am wondering whether it is possible to insert a gallery block into a Markdown for a collapsible accordion menu. I have the drop down working with text however would like it to include images in a gallery also. I have followed this guide for the menu - http://forthandwild.com/blog/squarespace-accordion-menu Any help greatly appreciated!
  4. Is it possible to use the accordion coding with a form? Basically, I'd like the form to open on the web page (not light box) when clicked, similar to the accordion FAQ style. Is this possible?
  5. The accordion stays OPEN on the site until I REFRESH the page. I would like it to be closed unless you prompt it. Any help would be very appreciated Thank you
  6. I'm using Markdown to create an expanding accordion menu. When you first view the page, the text is hidden. You can click to expand a drop down accordion menu that displays nested text. The issue is that the expanded text messes up the way elements below it on the page display. It looks like the images and backgrounds below the markdown do not respond to the expanded text and remain in their initial position, but the text below the markdown does respond to the expanded text and moves further down the page. The result is that the text appears to overlay or overflow on top of the content beneath the markdown. I already contacted Squarespace support and they verified that this issue was not a known issue, that it is not currently in the works for resolution, and that it has nothing to do with my custom CSS. They suggested I ask the forum, so I'm coming to you guys! The structure for the site I'm using to illustrate this is as follows:Brine templateIndex with pagesSolid color blocks are their own pagesFull bleed images with parallax are their own pages with the image set as the background for the page Here is the Markdown basic structure: <details> <summary>Click to expand!</summary> content goes here </details> Illustrated on this Github forum here: https://gist.github.com/pierrejoubert73/902cc94d79424356a8d20be2b382e1ab I saw in other questions that some issues with Markdown could be resolved by disabling Ajax loading. I have disabled it and still see the issue. Would love some help with this! Website: teese.squarespace.comPassword: teese
  7. Hi, for my portfolio page I've designed images to be used as buttons for my Demo Reel, Detail Reel, and Resume. I was wondering if there is any way to make it so that if you click on the Demo Reel button, my Demo reel video either drops down below the button or opens in a lightbox. I'd like to also do this for my Detail reel just below, and then below that have a Resume button that drops down to reveal links to two of my resumes. My goal is to have these all be on my homepage for easy access but not a lot of clutter of multiple videos.
  8. Specifically, I'm using Aviator and on my services page I have a lot of entries that are service name with explanations underneath. I'd like the explanations to be hidden initially so visitors only see the list of services. Then they would have the option to expand the explanations under the services they want to read more about. For example Service Name (visitor would click name to open text underneath)[explanatory text here would remain hidden until user clicks service name, then expand to be read] Is there any way to do this?
  9. I discovered that Squarespace doesn't have any accordion/toggle styling that can be used for FAQs, etc. I was directed to come here and ask how to do it. I was hoping to have something that looks like this (see attached image).
  10. I’m building a site — firstpersonessaycoaching.com — and I’d like to hide the answers to the questions on my FAQ page so that they are revealed when you click on the text of the question. I read Silvabokis’ How to create hide/show FAQs in Squarespace — but I would be out of my depth with jQuery. Would someone be able to suggest another way, or perhaps provide a little more guidance for the jQuery suggestions so that someone with very little experience can do it? Thanks in advance.
  11. I was able to get a working 'read more' button but I'm unable to have more than one of them functioning on the page, I need 10 of them. Here is the link to the page I'm working on: http://voltcult.com/best-albums-of-2017/#/101/ Here is the post I got the code from: https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/139747/creating-a-collapsible-markdown-on-one-page.html Let me know if you can figure out why I can't get more than one working. All The Best,Luke
