  1. Site URL: https://www.davinepilates.com/ Hello, I am trying to create a page where my client can add pilates videos to this page and people can buy them and only have access to them within max. a week. I know Squarespace lets you sell videos but the client has constant access to it even though the link expires every week since Squarespace provides a new working link every time it expires. Does anyone know how to this? Thanks!
  2. Site URL: https://katharinathor.com/ Hello! I have a video in my homepage and I can't find the way to turn on the sound. Anyone can help? Gracias!! https://www.katharinathor.com/
  3. Site URL: https://orieldavislyons.com Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to adjust my video player to use the full width of the screen as right now it's centered with a lot of black space either side. 4. Site URL: https://mcamediam.squarespace.com/teatro-gerolamo Hi Guys, I'm working on this website: https://mcamediam.squarespace.com/ted-x Client requested me that the video must be full width (just like the Home Page). I don't want to use YouTube to host every video for every project, so I'm asking you a line of CSS code to assure that every video for every case like these are in full width mode. https://mcamediam.squarespace.com/ted-x https://mcamediam.squarespace.com/pagani-mca-media https://mcamediam.squarespace.com/teatro-gerolamo How can I achieve that? Thanks, Dario
  5. Hi can someone please help me with this. I think I need some code that prevents the video from playing unless it is at HD resolution.
  6. Site URL: https://scarlet-grape-g5ln.squarespace.com I need help with centering my home page's first video that autoplays on mobile without affecting the desktop version. On mobile, it only shows the bottom right corner of the video but in the top left corner of the block. My current code that I am using for this is below (from @codeandtonic @8640-codeandtonic) /* Section background image 16:9 video */ //show on mobile section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { display: block; } // show on desktop html.no-touch section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { display: block !important;} section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { //16:9 spacer padding-bottom: 56.25%; min-height: 0 !important; .section-background .sqs-video-background iframe { //make it the size of parent no matter what automatic JS it would like to do border-width: 0; position: absolute !important; top: 5.5vh !important; left: 0 !important; bottom: 0 !important; right: 0 !important; height: 10vh; width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; } // blocks would be here but we won't have any .content-wrapper{ display:none !important; } }
  7. Site URL: https://scarlet-grape-g5ln.squarespace.com/ Hi there, I was looking for help with making a video full-bleed responsive with the website edge to edge. I also want it to work for both desktop and mobile. I have two examples running on my page right now. There was one where I am running it as a background video using BUT it wasn't centering properly. Part of it was being cut off by the header and it wasn't centering on the mobile properly either /* Section background image 16:9 video */ //show on mobile section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { display:block !important; } // show on desktop html.no-touch section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { display: block !important; top: 0 !important } section.page-section[data-section-id="61019a7c2ef1a604d30e6b10"] { //16:9 spacer padding-bottom: 56.25%; min-height: 0 !important; .section-background .sqs-video-background iframe { //make it the size of parent no matter what automatic JS it would like to do border-width: 0; position: absolute !important ; top: 60%; left: 60%; margin-right: 0%; transform: translate(-50%, -50%) } // blocks would be here but we won't have any .content-wrapper{ display:none !important; } } I was currently using this (a code of yours that I found in the past) in the CSS for the second version of the video underneath the one that is currently full-bleed /* Video fullwidth */ [data-section-id="6103292e6ee0aa3483fa6e22"] .content-wrapper { padding-left: 0 !important; padding-right: 0 !important; max-width: 100% !important; } Website: https://scarlet-grape-g5ln.squarespace.com/ P: doormat123
  8. Site URL: https://centerpointfl.org My site has an Index page as the home page. The main index page has a video in the banner. When the site loads, it opens with the fallback image, then the video begins to play and the entire page JUMPS down 2 pages in the index. When I use a static image in the banner, I don't have this behavior--only with the video. Any ideas? I have nothing in the page header code injection box. Running Bryant template. Version 7.0.
  9. Site URL: https://pumpkin-hawk-yyfr.squarespace.com/ We've using a video banner in the top section of our homepage. We're using it as background because we want it to autoplay and be full bleed. We don't want the video to loop though. Is there a setting, or a snippet of code, that would prevent the video from looping? Thanks.
  10. Likely this will filed automatically under "unanswered" but here goes… A well documented flaw in Squarespace (still) is how video banners don't play on mobile. Squarespace has a fairly misleading answer to this on their Support site: The reality is that banner videos won't, under any circumstances, play on a mobile device (that I've seen) This a huge drawback to the platform that at least two other CMS (Content Management Systems) have seemingly solved β€” Cargo and WordPress. Examples of these two working on mobile are here: https://www.ricardolandim.com/ (WordPress) https://creator-destroyer.com/ (Cargo) Obviously Squarespace provides a host of other wonderful features but as video becomes (I would say is) the common visual language it seems like something they should be able to devote some time and energy to fixing. Fallback images are a poor substitute, especially if say, you are a video production company. GIFs as Fallback images while clever are large files and won't play nearly as smoothly. Finally, what's really infuriating is they've gone to the trouble of solving this for their own marketing on their their 5to9 campaign site, the irony being they're selling the service with a feature you can't actually use on it. C'mon guys. Rant over.
  11. Site URL: https://www.goldenllamaproductions.com/rhythms-of-peru-video Like so many others, looking for a custom code to all the videos on pages like this be a full bleed video with sound. NOT a background banner video. https://www.goldenllamaproductions.com/rhythms-of-peru-video I want it to work like this: https://www.tylerkalberg.com/work-samsung-gear-anybody Thank you for any help!!
  12. Site URL: http://www.piscesaccounts.co.uk Hello, I have created a website for a client, there is a background video in the top banner of the home that displays nicely on desktop but on mobile is showing only partially. I tries with a fallback image but then the fish was showing super big when loading the page and then it goes into the video showing partially the fish, so there is really no substitution of the video for the image in mobile. I tried with a fallback gif and the same problem happened. This is also happening when I use an image as a background banner, in mobile version it shows only partially. Does someone know how to fix this issue? Would it be possible to have the image / video centered somehow in the mobile version? Many thanks!
  13. Have a lovely video that we would like to use on the home page (includes large text blocks, etc) but which clips on mobile. Since the majority of our audience is viewing the site on mobile, I would like to disable the video and use the fallback image instead. Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this?
  14. Site URL: https://doublevision.squarespace.com/ I'm trying to add a video that displays in full bleed. Currently I'm using the 'Video' option when choosing 'Add Section'. Currently working in in 7.1, and have not managed to make any of the CSS that people have provided out there work. An example of what I'm EXACTLY trying to achieve is the video that can be found by scrolling down in here: https://www.davidoscroft.com/polo-denim-fall-2019 Pass: DVTest
  15. Site URL: https://lonesprucetestsite.squarespace.com/new I'm looking to try and create a video lightbox that pops up when you click the hover over link on this gallery grid. Looking to be able to play the video on this same page, close it out and move to another one without changing pages. Please help!
  16. Site URL: https://.brentwood-modern.com I just want my video to loop! I have tried many different code variations and all fail...GREATLY appreciate any help!! site is password protected: "House" (not the video on the homepage, but the video on the "video" page) <iframe class="embedly-embed" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2FLIdQYIAG_Sc%3Ffeature%3Doembed&display_name=YouTube&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DLIdQYIAG_Sc&image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FLIdQYIAG_Sc%2Fhqdefault.jpg&key=c6502efcb3c84824bc6c1f27d683be13&type=text%2Fhtml&schema=youtube" width="854" height="480" scrolling="no" title="YouTube embed" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" allowfullscreen="true"></iframe>
  17. Site URL: https://tambourine-apple-mx9f.squarespace.com/semc Hello! I've followed various bits of advice on here and got a video to auto play on a one of my site pages but in order for it to display properly on the desktop page I changed the width and height to values that are appropriate. This means that it displays absolutely huge on mobile and hangs off the edge of the screen. Is there some code I can use to adjust this and how can I stop this happening on other similar videos on other pages, when I upload them? Similarly I wanted to add a secondary logo in my footer which again displays huge on mobile. Is there a way to adjust this for mobile as the spacer modules don't display. Thanks in advance!
  18. Site URL: https://www.pivote.world/ Hi there, I think this is an issue lots of people have encountered, but I couldn't find any appopriate solution digging on the forum... I uploaded a video on YouTube in order to use it as a background for my website. Problem is, the video, which is originally quite good in terms of quality, appears very low res on Squarespace. The quality is fine on YouTube, as long as you specify "HD" in the settings. Is there a way to force SquareSpace to use the HD version of the video while stremaing on my website ? What solutions could there be, to help improving the video quality ? Is it possible to embed the video instead of using YouTube link ? Given that I already applied all the advices given by SquareSpace on this link : https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/218562738-Adding-background-videos?&_ga=2.260837517.1875337006.1626964554-256079455.1626102062#toc-design-tips
  19. Site URL: https://www.iv-profusion.com/ Hi everyone, I'm having a hard time formatting this video on both mobile and desktop (most importantly desktop view) as you can see, my captions below are cut. Can someone please help me with the css codes to format this? Thank you!
  20. Site URL: https://raccoon-radish-ytrb.squarespace.com/ I'm having an issue with my homepage, which is currently a YouTube video in the background on desktop browsers and working perfectly fine there, but on mobile phones, it shows the fallback image, which is fine, but when you start scrolling down, that video section becomes white. And it stays white even when you scroll back up. On my iPad, it also shows the fallback image and although that section doesn't become completely white when you scroll down, it does become partly white. You can see for yourself. Passcode is flutesandflutists Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: I've been playing with the image dimensions and noticed that if I shrunk the width to 2500 pixels, it's appearing a little better on mobile. Instead of turning entirely white, it's only about half. So it's probably something to do with the dimensions. I then resized it according to what SS recommends, which is apparently 2500 x 1500 for banner images but then that made it a bit worse, with roughly 1/8 of the image turning white. I also noticed that as I'm scrolling down, the image looks like it's trying to zoom in but it's behaving strangely. I don't want to have any effect for the fallback image but I can't seem to change it.
  21. Site URL: https://esportsengine.gg/ Hi all! First time posting - I've tried to look up the answer on this, but haven't had any luck, so please let me know if this can be found elsewhere. Anyways, I was wondering if I can replicate the look/design by using Squarespace found on this website: https://esportsengine.gg/ Specifically I'm looking at the 1st section (after the top banner) that has a red tinted video on the left with the words "WE WIN WHEN YOU WIN" on the right. It appears that the left side is a video and the right is a text block. But, when scaling the browser size, the video maintains it's aspect ratio and stays locked to the bottom and top of the section. Additionally, the words don't cross over onto the video, but instead maintain their positioning on white. On mobile the words appear beneath the video. Is is something that is possible utilizing Squarespace? Any and all help is appreciated -- total coding newbie, so go easy on me, thank you!
  22. Site URL: https://www.kevalahealth.com.au Hello everyone, Sorry if this question has been answered before as I have tried to follow instructions on here and its not working! QU: I'm trying to embed a youtube video onto my site so it can autoplay and not have other youtube videos follow on after mine! I've tried to use the formula from Kelli_carley in previous emails and its not working. See my attachment. QU: Do I save my video to a playlist first, then use that embed code and make the relevant changes as advised by Kelli ? See her attachment? I have tried both ways. Hope someone canhelp? 23. Hi there! I am working up a trial site (so not available right now) and I have set up some CSS code for a full-width video player. It looks and works great, but has a little bit of padding on the top and bottom - despite setting that to 0px. See below: [data-section-id="60e4534485053e2e8634f482"]{ overflow-x: hidden !important; overflow-y: hidden !important; .content-wrapper { padding: 0px !important; margin: 0px auto; display: contents; } } #player { padding-bottom: 0px !important; padding-top: 0px !important; } It's an issue because the section below it is a different color so it stands out. And when I set the video section to that same color, it has the small line at the top. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
  24. Hi. I am trying to embed 9:16 (or other aspect ratio videos) I have hosted on vimeo. Unfortunately the video block is only 9:16 so the video layout looks pretty terrible as I have lots of wasted space on the sides of the video block. It makes having a nice tall 9:16 video with type on the side of it pretty much impossible. . Friends of mine that use WP to host can make it work fine with 9:16 vid's on vimeo. How can I do this on on SquareSpace? Thank You!
  25. Site URL: http://www.bostoncreativeheadshots.com If I add a cover page with a welcome video is it possible to have it be a custom size rather than fill the whole screen? Thanks, Darren
