  1. I am a total novice using squarespace, so please forgive what could be a really stupid question. I've created my first post and pulished it, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to add categories or tags. Nothing in the 'how-to' videos match what I see. I'm assuming this is because the videos relate to version 7.0 and I'm using 7.1. Am using the 'Paloma' Template. When I click on the + symbol to add a new post ,I dont have a box that has the tags and categories items at the bottom. It adds a draft post to the list (screen shot 1) and then opens as an editable page (screen shot 2). I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, or how to get around this. Any help is highly appreciated.
  2. Hi everyone, in the help pages of Squarespace I can read, that it is possible to tag pictures. I know how to tag events or blog entries, but I cannot find a way to tag pictures in Picture Blocks or Gallery Blocks. Can anybody help?
  3. My tagline is this for my boutique website: PLAYSUITS | DRESSES | KNITWEAR | OUTERWEAR | TRAVEL | TOPS | BOTTOMS | SETS I am wondering if it's possible to make each product "title" (playsuits, dresses etc) a link to the designated product page on my website? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
  4. We are not sure if this is the correct place to post this issue. If not, please point us to the correct forum. Issue: To the right of the page title, Services, it reads: composed writer.com. That's an old website name. It should read verbose editing.com. Most of our web pages read like this. We've scoured the template and can't figure out how to fix this. Does anyone know how to fix this? We are using the Handyman template. Thank you, Verbose
  5. Is there a way to select multiple images in a gallery and apply the same tag(s) to all of them? A Google search found several threads on this forum asking for this feature, but looks like they have all been removed. I'm hoping that's because the feature has been implemented, but I can't find a way to do it. Thanks!
  6. Hi Guys, I would love to hide the date and the tags on my Rally-Template. But only for the Blog List not for the Blogpost. Can you help? Thank you ❤️
  7. For products with status sold out, we added this SOLD medallion at the top right side of the product image (like this one https://www.matthewrachmangallery.com/cowhides/18?rq=TRICOLOR%20GENUINE%20BRAZILIAN%20COWHIDE) Check here --> https://prnt.sc/pbu6se We want to add a new status called IN HOLD, however, we could not find an option to add this in the system, we were thinking if it is possible to add in IN HOLD medallion based on the tag or category of an item, for example, if we put "inhold" tag to a certain item then the SOL medallion should be displayed. Is this possible? if yes, could you point us how to achieve this based on tag or category? If not, what would you suggest?
  8. Hi all, I'm looking for a way to create a search function on a site I'm currently putting together where items (in this case properties for rent) can be indexed by the various things they offer in a similar way to how this company does it: https://www.salcombefinest.com/luxury-accommodation/ By selecting options from the list, it then shows only items that for instance have a hot tub or can sleep a certain number of people. Squarespace couldn't help and have told me it's a specialist function. Is this something anyone has any knowledge of? I thought it would be a case of adding categories and/or tags then adding some sort of search that uses those to present the required options but that doesn't appear to be the case. Thanks in advance.
  9. When will v7.1 be feature-complete and released? Particularly, I need to use tags/categories on portfolio items and they haven't been implemented yet (contrary to the documentation)
  10. How can I export customers email address and information for a mailing list by a tag? When I try to export it by the filtered tag it asks me to download all customers.
  11. I'm looking for a way to add tags to a blog post at the bottom of the post without moving the primary and secondary metadata to the bottom. I currently have those set to author and date at the top of the post. The tags need to be small and at the end of the post. Client's blog is here: https://www.ampersand-law.com/blog/emergency-preparedness-two-free-things-to-do-right-now Thanks!
  12. This page: www.myweddingphotographer.co.nz/wedding-photographer-christchurch is set as my home page for my site. This means if anyone types in: www.myweddingphotographer.co.nz it will bring them too:www.myweddingphotographer.co.nz Given this page has an actual url of: www.myweddingphotographer.co.nz/wedding-photographer-christchurch I am wondering if I should set the canonical tag for this page (even though it now the home page) via the Advanced custom code? At the end of the day, I want search engines to know that /wedding-photographer-christchurch is the page for this search term on my site. I'm obviously confused that SS can pull up this page and just show: www.myweddingphotographer.co.nz without the /wedding-photographer-christchurch bit. Any pointers greatly appreciated. T
  13. I'm making a website for an electrical company. He would like the shop page to be able to search for products by multiple drop down menus. For example, one page will be solely for circuit breakers. There will be a form or drop down menus as follows: Brand (several options)Type (several options)Voltage (several options)Poles (a few options) Once they select all the options, only those products fitting that description will appear. Is this possible using tags and categories or do I need to do some hardcore coding or third party apps to make it happen?
  14. Hey all! I'm running into some issues with the native in-site search Squarespace offers. I know there's options to hide blog categories, tags or entire blog pages from Google search. Is there a way to hide specific pages, category/tag pages or anything from the native in-site search? I've got a couple separate use cases... I have an old blog that needs to stay up because of some legacy tie-ins. I can't disable. I have it hidden from search engines, but the content still shows up in the in-site search and I don't want it to. I have a few specific tags for some blog items... one is "deer-elk" because I want them sorted together when displayed in a summary block. However, now when you search for "elk", ALL of the items tagged "deer-elk" show up even if they only have deer content. I'm really just trying to clean up my search results and keep 'em all relevant.
  15. Hello. I was wondering is there a code for the quote block and author to be in a box frame and text color changed? I found this code but it only contains the quote and changes the color of that text, not the author. blockquote { width: 90%; border-color: #ef420d; border-width: 5px 5px 5px 5px; border-style: solid solid solid solid; padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px; background-color: #eee; } Another customization question I have: Is there a code that will make the entire tagline area not just the text clickable? Thank you :)
  16. Hello all, Here is what I'm trying to do. For my website, readers need to read multiple blog posts to understand them all (it's fiction). What I want is to be able to put a link to all articles tagged with a specific tag in the text. Example: I write an article about a robot called Machine Man. The first time Machine Man is mentioned, his name is in a slightly different text, and if you click that name, it brings up a page where every article with the Machine Man tag is visible. What is the easiest way to do this? I have spent the last hour trying to figure out but no luck. Thank you for your help, Paul
  17. Hi, I am using the SKYE template for my blog. Currently, I have already included (from template) category links which regroup my blog posts by category (travel, Food & drink). Super helpful, all good there. I want to create a page with images only -- which clicks through to not categories, but tags. (ie. the page will feature countries i've visited and then when you click on the country, it will regroup tags of all the blog posts written about cities, places in that country). I've sucessfully created a page with images and when I follow the directions on how to ceate a click through image URL, I am having issues. I open the image editor, I go under 'Design' then click on 'Clickthrough URL'. After, I am unable to see any tags i've created and only see the two categories (which came with the template). That said, I'd like some direction on how to make a tag link work but without having the tags visible on my site navigation bar, like the categories. Is there a way to make a link to tags, without having the tags visible in the site navigation? Thank you!
  18. Hi, How to edit the "tag links" that are used in blogs. Tag links URL automatically come as web/blog/tag eg. abc.com/blog/marketing+tips I wish to edit the tag links as abc.com/blog/marketing-tips Kindly help me on "how to edit the tag links in Squarespace?"
  19. I'm using the Marta template (Brine family). Part of the purpose of my website is to sell photography prints. I've been using categories to sort my pictures into different groups. With the Marta template, the categories automatically compile on the side of the page, which is good. But I would like to also display my tags on the same page. My ultimate goal is to be able to allow the user to select the orientation they would like their picture to be. The categories list is sorted alphabetically so "Vertical" and "Horizontal" wouldn't be next to each other in the list. Another way my goal could be achieved is if there was a way to format the categories list to customize the order that the it's displayed. My product landing page for reference

  22. How do you edit the Title Tag for a category's page? e.g. https://www.notjaya.com/blog?category=Travel -- I'd like this to have TRAVEL as the title tag for SEO. And add a different title tag for the different categories. And also for individual tag pages. Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi folks! I've found lots of answers regarding hiding site titles, changing font colors, etc. but haven't been able to track this one down. Looking to insert a line break into the site title, so instead of this: A wonderful site about eating delicious things I'd like this: A wonderful site about eating delicious things Using the < b r > tag works, but then shows up literally as < b r > in other places around the site, including donation reply emails, browser tabs, and other places. From: A wonderful site< b r >about eating delicious things Subj: Thanks for your donation! Any thoughts on how to inject the line break using CSS or another means of achieving the above without the fallout? Best, SyddyS
  24. I have imported my Tumblr site onto a blog page, and I’ve noticed how unnecessary the tags seem in this format. Is there some code I can use somewhere to hide them? Does anyone have any idea what code I could try and where I should put it? Thank you.
