  1. Site URL: https://johnnysfresh.com I've just built a site for a Produce company that is selling subscriptions to a weekly produce box delivery. Essentially, you choose your town (as a variant) which will then guide what day we will deliver your box. Since it's a weekly subscription to a specific town, we'd like to put a limit on the number of boxes we can handle within that town. For exactly, we can currently handle doing about 100 deliveries within a day. We plan to scale up carefully, but we're stuck in the fact that the subscription makes the quantity unlimited. In our preliminary offering, we sold over 200 boxes to one town in less than an hour. We've moved to a model where the site is invite only to prevent the onslaught, but that makes it really hard to market with the site. We'd like to be able to capture leads from people so we know who to go back to when we're able to scale. Is there any way to limit the number of subscriptions sold for physical products by variant? I suspect I'm not alone in this challenge. Thanks in advance for any ideas! Joe
  2. Hi all. I run a fitness website where clients in my area sign up for outdoor fitness classes. We charge a recurring monthly fee and a per class fee. So if a client books zero classes in a month they are charged $20. 1 class: $20 + $8. 4 classes: $20 + ($8 x 4). Etc. I am unsure of how to do this (or even if I can do this) in the new squarespace site that were building. Does anyone know of a way to charge a recurring monthly fee (which occurs monthly obviously) as well as a per class fee via the appointment-setter for each class an individual schedules. Please do not just tell me to average it out because the monthly fee is a psychological tool that leads to significantly more engagement and revenue. We learned this the hard way. Would I create a membership area (with a monthly fee) and then put the scheduling page (with per class fee) behind the membership paywall? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I know this is possible in Stripe, but I dont see how this is possible in Squarespace Advanced Commerce. To illustrate what we are trying to do: - Month 1 = $200 (regular price of $100 + an additional $100 for an initial consultation) - Month 2 through X = $100 Another option would be to bundle two products and only offer the bundle: - Product 1 = $100 for an initial consultation (1 time charge) - Product 2 = $100 recurring monthly payment (subscription) Are either of the above possible? If not, is there a plugin that works? We want to avoid custom dev work with Stripe due to the costs. Thanks

At the moment, they can simply access their account and unsubscribe. I have hidden the login access from our website, but they can still do it by clicking on a link in the confirmation order email. I can't disable the customer account access and I can't remove the unsubscription link from the account I am trying to stop them accessing their account. Would you have a way around, either by: - removing the 'unsubscribe" link from the account - stopping the access to customer account (redirect doesn't work and is not possible) - any other ideas? thanks for your help

I'm an editor of a literary magazine and our team decided that instead of selling traditional subscriptions that require manual renewals each year, we would move to using Squarespace subscription products to streamline the whole process. The problem we're having is that we were under the assumption that the date customers are charged was tied to when the product was posted, not when the person ordered. To explain further, we release issues three times per year. Let's say we release an issue on Oct. 1 and Customer A orders on Oct 1, we send them the current issue. They are informed that four months later (Feb. 1) they will be charged for the next issue and we will send it to them. That's our ideal set up. However, when Customer B orders on Nov 1, they will also get the current issue that Customer A received, but their renewal date is four months from their purchase date (Mar. 1). This is one month after the second issue releases. Basically, anyone who buys a subscription after the day the issue releases will get it late because the charge date can't be changed. This isn't ideal and not how magazine subscriptions work. Is there any way to consolidate every order to a single date so that all customers are charged on the same date every four months no matter when they placed their order? Right now you can't move the charge date sooner, only later, which doesn't help. It's left us in a position where we either just mail them when their order is due, creating a scenario where subscribers will receive issues at different times or we ship them all at the same time and wait for the charges to occur when they're scheduled and risk people cancelling before a payment has been taken out for the latest issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I need to figure out out of the numerous orders that I have, which are subscriptions and which are not in a non time consuming way. Does anyone know a way of doing this as at the moment I just have a long list of orders, some of which are subscriptions and many others are non-subscription orders. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi all I've just signed up to start my build this evening, moving from Wix, and think I may have hit a snag. But, before throwing in the towel I wanted to ask if there's a workaround. I sell online mock tests for school exams. The tests are built in third party software which is embedded in an iFrame. Customers subscribe monthly to have access. Essentially I need to setup a subscription which gives subscribed customers access to certain pages on my site. All fairly straight forward, however, I just read that subscriptions are not permitted for digital products, which I suspect this is. If I can't make this work then the party is over. But I really liked square space. Any ideas?

  11. We sell service subscriptions using squarespace subscriptions in squarespace commerce. Currently we get the order notification within the SS commerce platform, and we manually enter the customer information into Jobber, which we use for customer scheduling and routing (truck rolls). We would like to get all new customers into the system automatically so that all we have to do is drop them into a route. We also would need to disregard all recurring charges on a current customer's subscription. Jobber does not extend that platform other than through Zapier (to my knowledge). Help!

I've created a subscription product that is themed for every month. I would like to start shipping this out the first week of the month so they are timely (example Feb 1 shipment date on my Feb box which is themed 'love'). I only have a few subscribers right now. One subscribed on the 2nd and one subscribed on the 6th. In the backend you can "change" the subscription date but I can't actually revert it to the first. The closest that I can do right now is March 1st. I'd still like to fill subscriptions for this month up until the 15th and then have them be billed for the Feb box on the 1st. Is there a way around this - do I have to push their renewals till March and have them pay separately for Feb - it just is rather annoying that I upgraded my subscription on Squarespace - and it looks like it's not going to work as I hoped.

I have subscribers who want to upgrade to the next tier but currently all I know how to do is tell them to cancel their current subscription and subscribe to a new tier. This is clunky and forces people to pay more than they should. I can also refund them for the month before they subscribe to the next tier but that is also time consuming and clunky. Is there an easy way to allow for subscribers to upgrade without all this hassle? Thank you for your help!! Best, Sarah

At the moment I manage bread subscriptions manually through a contact form - I'd like to add the subscription option to my shop page, but I can't see a way of creating a finite inventory number for a subscription product. And it needs to be finite - there is only so much bread I can bake! Thanks for any advice.

Almost a year ago, we set up a yearly subscription using Squarespace Commerce. Obviously, lots has changed this year and we found ourselves moving the subscription completely online and needing a lot more functionality, so we imported all of our subscribers to memberspace. We are now going through to cancel the initial accounts set up on our squarespace commerce. To do so, I'm going into Commerce, then Customers, then clicking on a customer and clicking "customer details." There, it lets me cancel. HOWEVER, some customers only have a "Subscriber Details," and when I click there it won't let me cancel. BUT they all purchased a subscription product. Why would some not have the option to cancel and also not have that "Customer Details" box at all. Does anyone know?

During checkout, I have customers fill out a form in which they choose 3 seeds they would wish to grow. I would like customers to be able to edit the form and change their seeds if they would like to every 3 months, how can I accomplish this?

What I want is when a customer has bought a product from us, they will receive and email saying refer a freind and you and your friend can get a %discount on their next purchase. The link will send them back to our site, where their friend will subscribe. Once that happens both will receive a discount code. is there a code out there to make this work.

Is there a way to allow customers to add multiple subscriptions to cart and checkout only once rather than using the "express checkout" every time they wish to purchase a subscription? The current experience requires the customer to go through the checkout experience multiple times if they wish to purchase multiple subscription plans. Cheers
  20. Hi! Could anyone please recommend the best integrating Gated Content / Digital Membership PlugIn? I am currently using Memberspace and feel like the integration is not as tight as I'd like. I have to turn off Customer Log In functionality in order for it to work meaning that my non-members can't log into the site which sucks. Also, I have more physical subscriptions than digital only subscriptions right now and intend to keep growing that way. Lastly, my physical subscriptions include access to a gated section of my site. I'm really just looking for a solution that integrates better with Squarespace and Shipstation as I scale. I would appreciate any other membership sites or gated portal plug ins you guys use that you love. Thank you!!

My product is delivered once a fortnight from March-November, a total of 20 payments, but the description looks like it would be 40 payments.   23. Can’t seem to find this answer anywhere... Are Customers Who Subscribe for Multiple Months Charged Shipping Each Month when their subscription renews? Let’s say they subscribe for 6 or 12 months and pay for 6 or 12 months at once. Shipping is charged once at the time of payment. But I just want to verify. Does shipping get re-charged again each month for the remainder of the 5 or 11 months?

My business is rental based, I rent out games for events, but in addition to giant games, I rent out tabletop games as well. I am expanding my business to allow rentals of board games across the US via shipping and returning. These are my issues, and I can't seem to find a solution that can cover everything. I even tried going to Shopify because they have the apps I need, but their site customization is so limited, it doesn't seem worth it. Here are the features I am looking for, I currently use Booqable for rentals, but honestly, I'm not super impressed considering I've had lots of issues and it's expensive for only handling the rental aspect. Need a booking option connected to a calendar for rentals for events Backend software that captures customer data, creates invoices, handles payments (including security deposits) Once an item is rented, I need it to show as unavailable in my store for the dates selected Subscription options that allow customers to login and change the items in their subscription every month (these are rentals, not purchases, so the customer gets to choose which games they want each month from our library) Delivery and shipping costs calculated via zip code Ability to have one product on a page and have buttons to either do a one time rental, or start a subscription (I want to have the board games available to rent a la carte in addition to having a subscription) I am willing to use more than one integration (one for rentals, one for subscriptions), I just can't seem to find what I need.   25. Hi there, Had a good chat with support this morning but I wanted to post the summary here for further attention. We launched our new site last month which includes services as monthly subscriptions. Turns out that, when a customer cancels, we must manually change their subscription status to pending or some other status in order to generate/export a list of active subscriptions to fill at the next fulfillment date. That we must do that manually is clumsy at best. Should a cancellation email get missed/ not get to us, we still would process that order for the next month's fulfillment date. There is currently no way to view in the orders panel/export ACTIVE subscriptions - unless as I say above, we first have MANUALLY changed the order status of any cancelled order seems to me that would be a very important feature. I cannot imagine a much larger business with hundreds of subscriptions doing this manually.
