  1. Hello, I'm creating a website using the Skye template.I know very little about coding, so I'd be very grateful for any help. I'd like the "Link Color" in the navigation bar to be a darker grey for the following items "About Us", "News & Press", "People" and "Work With Us". The Active Link Color should stay blue once clicked and once the mouse sits on it. Is it possible? In case it makes it easier to visualize, my website is https://hqwebsitestudy.squarespace.com/Password: 12345678 @Paul2009 you have helped me before, us there any chance you know a way to do this?Thank you in advance, Eliahu
  2. I have quite the peculiar problem... First of all I want to say that this is a very important issue for my client, If I can't find a way to do this it is not going to be good.. Its really a simple thing, but I don't know if square space will support it. They want the text of the banner of the homepage to have a special format and they want it aligned to the left. I've got that part figured out: // funky rules to make the banner text look right on the homepage #IDoftheHomepageBanner { .desc-wrapper { float: left; text-align: left; vertical-align: baseline; } .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(1) { font-size: 48px; text-transform: none; font-weight: bold; } .desc-wrapper p > strong { color: #004a88; font-size: 48px; font-weight: bold; letter-spacing: normal; } .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(4), .desc-wrapper p:nth-of-type(5) { text-transform: none; color: #004c8a !important; letter-spacing: normal; } } However, this presents a problem that they really don't like... when the page is expanded the text stays all the way off to the left. The image that they have for the homepage banner has a person in the middle/right, they want the text to "not fly off into no man's land" way far out to the left, but to still stay to the left... Kind of hard to explain. Here is the website I am rebuilding, they want it to look just like this banner. As you can see, when you expand the page the text follows, until you hit a certain point. When you hit that point it stays stuck against the banner image, but not all the way to the left of the page. Almost as though there is an invisible vertical border the text is stuck to. Anything you can tell me sure would help. I thought maybe somehow if it's possible to have two columns in the banner you could then align the text to the right of the left column.. but even that would present problems. I'm really at quite the impasse. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello, I haven't had success with any of the CSS I've found to create underlines for body text only on the Henson template. Any ideas? Thank you!
  4. I am trying to add my social icon block to my header above my main nav bar so it doesn't crowd the main menu. After wrangling with various code snippets from the forum, I have arrived at this (see attached). You can see that the icons are in black on a white background in a separate bar above my header. What I want to do is to have them float over the header, not push it down, and I want to style them to a lighter gray color. Can anyone help? To get this far, I used Header Code Injection with a code snippet I copied from my social icon block using F12 inspect tools. Thanks!
  5. I'm trying to make my cover page fade into the main page after clicking on a button on squarespace, but I can't seem to find the function to do that. I'm not a coder, so does anyone know how to make this possible?
  6. Does anybody know how to custom style the search block box dropdown list in CSS? I would like to change: 1. font 2. background color 3. thumbnail size Thanks.
  7. Hi, i'd like to display the price of my subscription without the phrase "every month." so it will just display $30 not "$30 every month"is there a way to do that?
  8. In order to use Font Awesome and some embded forms/widgets, I placed most of my content in custom code blocks on my Contact page. For some reason, links in custom code blocks don't inherit link styling (which is something I noticed a lot of other users saying, and something Squarespace should really look into) so I was forced to apply even more custom code to correct this. All is well except for the first link ... It's bold and shouldn't be. My custom CSS class calls for the font style to be normal. The other links using this class are displaying just fine, so it's making me a little crazy that this lone link isn't responding to instructions, lol. Here's the page in question: http://www.waywardexchange.com/contact . Any help is appreciated!
  9. Hi. The color of the text in the dropdown is white. The form has an image background. I've checked the Design > Site Style settings and didn't have success. I've tried adding custom CSS, but wasn't able to correctly change the color. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  10. I would like to condense my home page - scmassages.comI'm wondering if I am able to do something like this for my front page - http://www.replenishwith.us/ using images to link to sections of site, but how it also looks the same on mobile.I know I can use gallery/summary grids/walls and link images. But is it possible to get a wall style similar the that website?
  11. I'm helping a client update her site and we are trying to put text links on the home page. I would like them to be the larger size and font face of the site's H1 style, but instead, as soon as I add a link to the text, it changes to a different font and size. I've had no luck in CSS or anywhere else yet. Is there a way to custom style links?
  12. Dear all, I've came across the two (main) sites http://www.alexstrohl.com/photos and http://www.madebyfinn.com/travels. But unfortunately I struggle with recreating a site-style that looks like any of these two pages. the second one seems to be a blog-site. yes/no?but the first one - i cannot replicate. if I set an overview block pointing to a gallery it allows me 30 elements only. using a gallery block gives me the chance to show all elements of the gallery but unfortunately there is only the "grid" layout available with fixed spaces for each picture. there is no automatic adaption for landscape and portrait pics. so it shows unnecessary big white spaces. any ideas from the community? thank you in advance!best regards, christian
  13. I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a page where people can go to get a song/album and also on that page find lyrics, album credits, associated videos, listen to the song, etc. Would this best be done using a blank page and just adding blocks as needed for the content? If so, how would I create a product page at a top-level that would let people browse like a normal product page? Hopefully that all makes sense! It's a little hard to describe but if you're looking for an example of what I'm trying to make, here's the model I'd like to use from Imogen Heap's website. It doesn't need to have the animations her site contains though. http://www.imogenheap.com/thequiet/

  17. I want to emphasize the call-to-action on certain pages. The standard styling across all buttons is a white-text/black-background button with orange-text hover. I want to make the call-to-action a white-text/orange-background button with black-text hover. However, this emphasis means I only want it done on one or two buttons here and there. On most pages, I want the "View Schedule" button to have this emphasis. On this Rates page for example, I want the emphasis placed at the bottom on the "I'M NEW! SIGN ME UP!" button. Any advice? http://www.bodychemistrystudio.com/rates/
  18. Hello! I'm working with the brine template and am trying to change the background of a specific page to look somewhat more consistent on mobile. The link is: www.glodrinks.com/mobile I cannot figure out for the life of me how to make the body's background around the video black. I've followed several CSS samples on here and none of them seem to work. Several people point out using the collection ID, but I can't seem to find that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  19. I've about got my website the way I like, using the Aviator template, but on a mobile phone, the font size, which is quite comfortable on a desktop monitor, is kind of huge. As the mobile styles already change many things, I figure there might be some way of saying, "Do all the stuff you always do for mobile devices, but make all the fonts 70% of the regular mobile size, please." For reference, my website, on a page other than the Info Page so you can see the problem: http://www.withinsight-therapy.com/what-we-offer/
  20. I'd like to use a Montserrat light in my nav, in style editor, the only weights listed as options are 400 and 700. How would I address the nav in the css to adjust the font weight? Thanks!
  21. Hello, My website is BigInScience.com, and I'd like to make H2 & H3 heading hyperlinks the same in appearance as regular text hyperlinks. Specifically, my links appear blue (#0c08c1) and turn orange (#fc8002) when hovered over and active. I'd like H2 & H3 heading hyperlinks to appears the same. Here are a couple of CSS codes I've tried unsuccessfully: // Attempt 1 h2 a:link {color:#0c08c1;} h2 a:visited {color:#0c08c1;} h2 a:hover {color:#fc8002;} h2 a:active {color:#fc8002;} h3 a:link {color:#0c08c1;} h3 a:visited {color:#0c08c1;} h3 a:hover {color:#fc8002;} h3 a:active {color:#fc8002;} //Attempt 2 #content h2 a:link {color:#0c08c1;} #content h2 a:visited {color:#0c08c1;} #content h2 a:hover {color:#fc8002;} #content h2 a:active {color:#fc8002;} #content h3 a:link {color:#0c08c1;} #content h3 a:visited {color:#0c08c1;} #content h3 a:hover {color:#fc8002;} #content h3 a:active {color:#fc8002;} Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you, Brian
  22. Hi, I am using Rover and have text blocks in which I use different text styles (h2, h3, and normal text). Squarespace adds ugly large blanks between the text lines that use different styles and I can't figure out how to remove these blanks. Holding shift+enter does not work, as it won't allow me to then use separate styles. Adjusting the line-height only affects the height within the same text style, not the space between different styles. My page can be accessed here: http://bit.ly/2qLDxt0The problem can be found when scrolling down to ".02 programme" Many thanks for your help!
  23. Is it s possible to edit the style of the form? I’ve looked around, but don’t see an option to edit it anywhere. I’d specifically like to edit the “submit” button color as well as the background color of the form fields. Any ideas? Thank you!
  24. (I am using Dovetail, but can’t find an answer to this question here at Answers for any template.) In a Form Block, I am using a multi choice checkbox question. Squarespace automatically formats the options users can select from and the text is tiny – some visitors may have trouble reading text this size, so I’d like to edit it to be a little larger. If you need this feature, too, please vote for it! Attached is another example of how I am using a Form Block in Bedford and why I need to edit the text size.
  25. I am using the native theme, and would like to remove the footer. I don't want my main page to be scrollable, and on the contact page the e-mail button becomes redundant. Thanks! BlueRoar.com
