  1. I have a number of squarespace sites that use blogs. Occasionally I want to cross-post content across these sites. I don't want to damage SEO by having multiple pages of the same content therefore looking at using canonical URLs but there is no code injection for separate blog posts. Can anyone confirm that if I add a code block with the below inserted pointing back to the original version of that post this will be sufficient for search engines to recognize the first version of the blog post and therefore not hinder SEO for multiple blog posts displaying the same content. <link rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/blog/test-blog/" />
  2. Site URL: https://megalodon-disc-4683.squarespace.com/ Hey there! I'm building a site with about 100 products, but as they are not for sale (on the site) I create a blog post for each. (more freedom) On the main page I created a block-summary that contains services and a link to these products. This as an intro. Now I'm looking for advice whether it's recommended to create a summary-block (with filtered products) inside the blog-post (linked from the main page) or not. Decided from a SEO perspective. Alternative would be to link from the initial summary-block on the main page via url to a new page (not blog) and then place the summay-block to the products right there (which means no block-summary in a blog-post.) Any recommendation or experience in this field? Thanks for helping!! Moritz Password for the site: ofenland
  3. Site URL: https://www.mixbook.com/inspiration Does anyone know why some of my articles appear in search with their post date? It's becoming an issue for SEO ranking and I'm trying to figure out why its happening. You can see the image attached. There's a "Nov 5" being added to the search result. Thanks!
  4. Hi All, Seobility reports 'Empty bold or strong tags were found on this page' -- my client is quite keen to get these removed but I can't seem to find much info on what exactly this is referring to in a Squarespace context. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Site URL: https://metgal.art/ In order to get our portfolio (RESULTS page) hover over titles to appear as we want, I included some html. I thought by editng the SEO descriptions they wouldn't show up when searched in Google, but they do in some areas (like the general portfolio page). Can anyone help include CSS to help format the titles how we have them so I don't have to worry how they display in Google? Images to help illustrate below.
  6. Site URL: http://royaleastcambridge.com When searching for my site on Google, the Google Search result for my homepage previously displayed up to four (4) links from my Site Header, directly under the SEO description (see attached image). This was extremely convenient because the first link was the "Order Online" link for our restaurant. I recently made some changes to my Site Header, and added more links to new pages in a folder called "More". After I did that, now none of the links appear (in the aforementioned location) anymore. To be clear: the PAGES are not missing from Google Search. Rather, the navigation links that previously appeared under the SEO description (in Google Search results) have disappeared. I need to restore those links. I'm not sure what to do! I really need that "Order Online" link to appear so we can compete with 'GwubHub' and 'Oober Eets'. I could do that by breaking my site navigation, removing most of the links from the header and putting other links... somewhere else. But I really don't want to have to break my site navigation, just to force the most important links to appear in Google search results. Is there a way around this problem? Thanks so much to anyone who tries to help! 8. Hi there I am setting up my site and have been using as many key words within the actual pages but there are some keywords I want to use which wont fit any statements or descriptions within the page. I was wondering how I go about adding these so I can rank better on google. I was going to use white text on a white background but apparently you can get penalized for this (plus when I viewed it on a mobile device you could still see it anyway)? Thank you in advance for any help.
  9. Hi Everyone I build and maintain Squarespace site for my clients and I use SEMRUSH (https://www.semrush.com/) to keep track of SEO activity. Does anyone else use SEMRUSH? I would like to compare notes on a few things. Cheers Damian
  10. Site URL: https://www.birdmediahouse.com/ourwork Hi, in Google's search results for my 'Our Work' page, it shows up with Gallery 3 in the Title, which is not what is set in the pages SEO settings. Any help on why this is happening or how it can be fixed would be great, thanks.
  11. Site URL: http://amandabrandimore.ca Hi There When you search amandabrandimore.ca you get the below result When you click on it, it takes me to the "About Amanda" page. This is not the home page setup in squarespace settings. What am I missing? I feel it's because it's not a "Home" page persay. Maybe it's the way I used the tempate? Sorry for the junior question.
  12. Site URL: https://okra-alpaca-k3kj.squarespace.com/ Getting error when duplicating page and renaming - error message is "Couldn't update item. Attempt to change display index state from original value of 9" Image attached. Just trying to get my site off the ground so any help would be appreciated.
  13. Hi everyone, Have you ever tried: site:yoursiteURL in Google? I am seeing some worrying things: 1: It shows up with the Nolan 7.1 template Site Description >> Maybe an idea to NOT have Google index the Circle fora @MaddieSmith? 2: It also shows posts where I posted the URL within this Circle Forum I have connected Google Search console from both the Squarespace site as well as Google Search Console AND asked to recrawl and submitted a new sitemap. Guess I need to be patient now...
  14. Site URL: https://cooperlandingfishingguide.com/blog/landing-big-fish I am having problems with my blogs - probably for the past 2 years. Several are indexing and ranking/showing up in google search; however, one of my latest blogs finally showed up in search for a term that gets about 9900 hits a month in the top 4, but later in the day, it disappeared entirely from search results. Here is the blog: https://cooperlandingfishingguide.com/blog/landing-big-fish Anything I need to do on my end?
  15. Site URL: https://thewindowflyer.com Hello! I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and have the solution to solve it? The site description not showing up properly on Bing, but is working fine on Google. I have populated the SEO Site Description as well as adding the same text to my home page's Page Description. I've had this set up for weeks already, so it should have already been re-indexed by the search engines. I should point out that my home page is set up as an index page (I'm using the Jaunt template), so therefore the home page technically doesn't have any text on it. As you can seen in the screenshots below, the page description that displays on the Bing search result seems to be automatically pulling the limited amount of text from the "Just Landed" portion of my home page, which is the first module of the index page format. That module/page pretty much only contains a blog summary block. Could this be the issue? Maybe I need to populate the Page Description of that "Just Landed" module with the text I'd like to appear in the search engine result? Thanks in advance for your help! 17. Site URL: https://www.guaduabamboo.com Hi, does anybody know if it impossible to make blog comments indexable for the search engines? There are very valuable comments on some of my blog pages but they aren't found in google which is a shame as this could contribute to more traffic.
  18. Site URL: https://www.theartisanstudio.uk After doing a site audit with SemRush, it seems that many (447) of my site's pages' "structured data items are invalid". As shown in the attached screenshot, it seems that a field "name" is empty. Does anybody know what this means and how to fix it? Thank you in advance!
  19. Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to have a drop down menu in the search engine like in the photo below? I would love this, because then it will make my website stand out more, and my customers would find stuff easier and faster. Thank you!🙂
  20. Site URL: https://getgetgot.com Hello, Since launching my site two months ago, my impressions on Google Search Console my impressions had been rising steadily. But they suddenly started dropping quite steeply from the 30 Nov. I also see that around the same time there was a sharp increase in the amount of pages that Google was not indexing. Currently 118 are excluded out of 135. Can anyone offer and help or insight? Many thanks, Annabel www.getgetgot.com

  22. Hey, I have an issue where when I search “inunzi” in the search engine on safari, my forum link shows up with my websites, and that could potentially be distracting/ confusing to my customers, and it may look in professional. But if you don’t think it’s a problem then I’ll keep it there. But if you do think it’s a problem, would you mind to help me, if that wouldn’t bother you? Thanks !🙂
