  1. Site URL: http://www.3weeks.courses/courses When my title is an h2 it will left justify. However, when I change it to an h1 it center justifies. This is despite the fact that left justify is selected. I can't figure it out and want this to be my page header for SEO purposes. I didn't find any custom CSS that would be causing this and am able to left justify h1's on different pages. Any ideas why it would be doing this?
  2. Site URL: https://seotographer.com I've disabled my shop from being indexed by utilizing the button on the main Shop page and it's still being indexed and showing up in Site Audits. I've also tried the code injection for disabling search indexing and it's still showing up. The shop pages are not linked anywhere on the website so I suspect it must be getting grabbed from the sitemap.xml. What am I missing to get these out of search?
  3. Site URL: https://schoonerclearwater.com Hello, I am wondering if my site is overdone? I have been told to keep adding to my site for SEO. Mobile user is where most of my business comes from. Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!
  4. Hello I have just finished my new podcast site on SQS. https://samtalks.technology I decided to change the blog post url to not include the date. I then updated the SEO for the blog post. However the blog post url does not match the SEO url? 1. I google the blog post. The image below shows the previous url included the date in the url slug. I decided to edit the url slug and remove the date. 2. I removed the date in the URL slug. No issue. The old url is now broken but I will wait for Google to reindex. 3. I then updated the SEO by adding to the SEO description but I noticed the URL slug was now different to the one live on the website. The url for the website is now https://samtalks.technology/podcasts/shaa-wasmund but the SEO window shows a url https://samtalks.technology/shaa-wasmund. This second url slug does not contain the sub-directory 'podcasts'. So is this SEO link displayed wrong or will people click on the link and go to a broken page?
  5. Site URL: https://www.moustacherun.com I recently made some changes to the front end of my site, but have no idea why my homepage isn't the first listed in search. Instead, it's a much-less visited "about" page. The updates were made 3 weeks ago. What's up with this?
  6. So I found out yesterday that the google search results for my page have the meta description of the .png file of my banner, as well as the actual texts and button names that are on the banner. These are forced to be in the "Page Description" box under general. I have a completely separate "SEO Description" paragraph that I had believed would be used for the meta description, yet Squarespace seems to not prioritise that and instead is telling Google to use the banner .png file name and text overlay for that. Squarespace support has been of ZERO assistance and just keeps telling me to reindex my site and that it is up to Google as to what they want to use. But I have already indexed my site dozens of times in the past months, and the "SEO Description" has always been there and not changed. Also, it does not make sense that Google would choose to use the .png file name of my banner as a better reflection of my site description. Is there a way for me to code inject a meta description of my choice that will override this issue?
  7. Hi! I have a website on Squarespace with a blog page. I know how to see the blog's total views, but I want to know how many views each post within the blog page gets. How can I do that? Thank you
  8. Site URL: https://www.autonettech.com We redesigned our website, and because we changed the template we had to do a brand new site instead of just updating the old one. We're going to transfer the URL from the old one to the new one. My SEO person wants me to leave all the URLs for all the pages in the old site intact, because they are indexed in Google. Some of those pages weren't included in the new site, because we didn;t want them. My question is, can I just create those pages but leave them unlinked in the new site structure to achieve this?
  9. Site URL: https://www.icarotea.com/ When I search my brand on google, Icaro Tea, this description shows up: Building a healthier. community one. sip at a time. DSC_8041 (2).jpg. DSC_8009 (1).jpg. DSC_8148 (1).jpg. DSC_7995+%281%29.jpg. DSC_8217 (2).jpg. I've changed the SEO description on every facet of my site, as well as SEO site description but it is not changing. Is it a matter of changing images or is it a part of the site that I am not seeing. Thank you in advance for your help.
  10. Site URL: https://www.michellereneebernard.com/gallery-paintings I just switched my paintings gallery from a "Gallery" page fed by a "Portfolio" I set up... to a "Work" page that allows clickthroughs to individual pages for each of my paintings. I had wanted to add the extra information about size, pricing, and more detailed descriptions that the Gallery/Portfolio setup did not allow for. However, I don't see anywhere in this new Work setup where I can add tags for each of the individual images on their independent pages. In the Gallery setup, the Portfolio that it populates pictures from had an option for each image where I could add tags. So I'm wondering if there's any way to add tags to my individual page images in the new Work setup? And if not, well... that's disappointing, but... then is there a way to add more lines in the Gallery/Portfolio setup? I believe anything I typed in (even if I hit the return button), would only show up as one long sentence. OLD WAY: Gallery/Portfolio: https://www.michellereneebernard.com/gallery-original-paintings NEW WAY: Work + Individual Pages: https://www.michellereneebernard.com/gallery-paintings Please keep in mind I'm a total tech dummy when answering. Thanks so much!
  11. Site URL: http://goodstuff.ventures Hi, I have an issue with the search results. As the title says, in the results, some pages are showing up while they are suppose to be hidden (Hide Page from Search Results on) any idea how I can fix that? thanks!
  12. Site URL: https://musicstudiomarketing.com Hey everyone, I'm trying to forward musicstudiomarketing.com to another address. Like an idiot, I cancelled my Squarespace subscription and transferred my domain to GoDaddy to do the forward, only to realize that the site now kicks a security warning because I lost the Squarespace security certificate. I can't get an SSL through GoDaddy because I don't have an actual site outside of Squarespace. And now I have to wait 60 days before I can transfer the domain back to Squarespace. That said: Has anyone had any success editing DNS records so that a site that is live in Squarespace, but has a domain in GoDaddy, can be forwarded through Godaddy's forwarding tool? I have a forwarding rule in there, but it's not working. And if I change the CNAME away from the mandatory default Squarespace CNAME, it doesn't work either. Weird problem, I know.
  13. Site URL: https://www.cuttoclamp.com/ Hi, On behalf of a client I manage and update two websites which are part of the same large business. One is built in SS and one through a custom CMS. Due to the similar nature of the audiences there are times when the same content (blog articles) needs to be added to both sites. The custom CMS for the other website has the functionality for me to add canonical references, however in doing so the SS site becomes the original source for every duplicate article shared. My question - can I edit canonical references within squarespace to allow the other site to become the original source for some of this content? Can it be edited for individual blog articles? Many thanks Rosie
  14. Site URL: https://www.pepijnclaus.com Hello Squarespace I have some SEO problems regarding my website, www.pepijnclaus.com A month ago, sharing my website on Facebook has been no problem. It displayed exactly the image I wanted: However: lately, the image changes to this, which is a black box. Not really inviting to visit my website, if you ask me 😕 The same in Messenger: I didn't change anything regarding the SEO settings. It's still like this: The same happened on Twitter. A week ago, the image was the drawing of my face, which was what I wanted. But since this week, the image automatically changed to a badly cropped version of the logo: The only service that does it right, is Linkedin: Can someone explain to me why this happens on Facebook and Twitter? How can I solve this? A big thanks in advance, Best regards, Pepijn (Pepin)
  15. Site URL: https://www.jesse-heath.com/ Hello All, My website has always ranked number 1 when you google search my name. About a month ago I removed a few pages from my site (no change to homepage) and my website was completely removed from Google search results. I used Google search console and it showed no errors, no penalty or anything suspect - I requested a re-index - Google has indexed my website but it just doesn't show up in the search results. My site still ranks number one on Bing, AOL, Yahoo, Ask and any other search engine you could think of. I contacted a developer who says this problem is on Squarespace, Squarespace refused to help and said it wasn't their problem. It's impossible to contact anyone at Google so I'm stuck and not sure at all what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.
  16. Site URL: https://www.stevemarais.com Hello smart people of Squarespace :) I'm a photographer, I have a simple website that I love. However, I recently did a google search on my name and was horrified to discover that my site is nowhere to be seen. https://www.stevemarais.com I followed the Squarespace SEO guides and made a few tweaks as best I could without compromising the simplicity of my site, but so far nothing has changed. Thing is, I used to rank no.1 for many years. I'm baffled. I'd hate to move back to a wordpress based site (it would probably be simple enough to recreate) because I love the simplicity and functionality of Squarespace, but if my site is unsearchable I might be left with no choice. Any help, advice or guidance will be absolutely appreciated! What can I do? Many thanks! Merci!!! Steve
  17. Site URL: https://www.warriorofhealing.com/ Hope someone can help me out. Through google search console I keep getting warnings about mobile issues. Translated from Dutch: Text too small too read Clickable elements too close to eachother Content wider than screen The thing is, sometimes it mentions a specific page, but not now: no examples. If I check on my own phone (iOs) I don't encounter any usability issues. Maybe, depending on the title length, when you see the previous and next titles on certain blogs. So the question is, how do I solve these 3 issues? Can I even adjust the mobile design in 7.1? It seems it severely affects my ranking as well since my site dropped a few places. Website: https://www.warriorofhealing.com/ As you helped me out before with design issues @tuanphan maybe you can help? Any other help is of course welcome too. Thanks in advance.
  18. Do you need to add an image name and drop it in the caption to optimize it or will Squarespace pull one over the other for ALT text?
  19. Site URL: https://heartpainter.com/ Parts of my site works best when blogs and product pages are shown on linked pages that have both text and summary blocks. I have page descriptions and SEO descriptions on the linked pages. Not sure about the unlinked pages. Do these pages also need page descriptions and SEO descriptions? Or would adding them just interfere with Google's attention where I want it: to the linked pages in navigation. Background info: The individual products in the product pages have their own SEO descriptions, and the images have alt text and descriptive file names. Two of the unlinked pages are in blog format: Stories, and FAQ. Each post has its own SEO description, and images have captions and descriptive file names. The sole current event in Events also has an SEO description. I don't think that matters for the past events. So...will appreciate advice on whether or not to add page descriptions and SEO descriptions on those unlinked pages! Thanks in advance.
  20. How do I increase my google search keywords? I got to Home>Analytics>Google search keywords and it only shows my website name. How do I increase the amount of keywords? I also went to other search keywords and it only shows my whole website name. Can someone tell me how to do I add more keywords this is really important :(
  21. Site URL: https://www.daveandco.co.uk/ I've been configuring my site for SEO and how it appears in Google Search. However, the changes I make in Squarespace don't seem to affect the actual search. Everything looks good in the Squarespace previews and as I want it, the reality, however, is very different. How do I get the changes made in Squarespace to carry through to Google? Below I've included the current appearance in Google Search Results. Then the associated settings in Squarespace.
  22. Site URL: https://www.thewholealchemist.com Hi all, First post here. I've been having trouble understanding how Google searches for my site name when typing in just the site words separated by spaces as opposed the the actual URL. Typing in site:Https://www.thewholealchemist.com returns pages as indexed by Google so I know something is working but I don't know what I'm missing. Is it purely SEO management that is lacking to rank my site or something else? Still learning about SEO best practices and a long way off getting better ranking but would really appreciate your guys insights. Cheers.
  23. Site URL: https://theelectricshower.co.uk/ I need to use Klaviyo for my mailing listing in preference to Mailchimp. Unfortunately, they are not included yet so I am having to go through Zapier, a 3rd party integrator. Because Squarespace won't allow you to disable double opt-in, and Klaviyo will simplest allow me to with a paid account, the integration fails. Has anybody had any good fortune with this problem? I don't need to pay $20/month for Klaviyo when I still have less than 2 hundred subscribers. I get the verify subscription electronic mail from Squarespace, but not one from Klaviyo. My check e-mail never seems on my Klaviyo mailing list. Very irritating.
  24. Site URL: https://www.vamicreations.com Hello all, I have a question regarding the Markdown blocks and adding the nofollow coding. I've done the coding that others here have recommended multiples times (my entire site (https://www.vamicreations.com) is filled with these and I have never had an issue with them till now). About a week ago, every time I started either changing something small (even deleting a space or adding one) in a markdown block of already posted articles or even creating a new post and using the same exact code for the nofollow affiliate links, all nofollow links show to <a data-preserve-html-node="true" href= link and the rest of the code from other nofollow links...I am stumped as I have talked with Squarespace help who has checked coding and everything on their end and not found anything wrong - i.e. it renders fine for them, even on my site. On my end, I have cleared any browsers I have used of caches, cookies, and history, restarted my computer, restarted the router, re-cleared all browsers on my computer, tried the iPad and my computer again and it's still doing the same thing. Thoughts on what else I could do to fix this? I have not been able to do updates for over a week now or post new articles with anything markdown because of this and would greatly appreciate any assistance. 🙂 Thank you and looking forward to hearing thoughts on what I can do to fix this. Michele
  25. I have a number of squarespace sites that use blogs. Occasionally I want to cross-post content across these sites. I don't want to damage SEO by having multiple pages of the same content therefore looking at using canonical URLs but there is no code injection for separate blog posts. Can anyone confirm that if I add a code block with the below inserted pointing back to the original version of that post this will be sufficient for search engines to recognize the first version of the blog post and therefore not hinder SEO for multiple blog posts displaying the same content. <link rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/blog/test-blog/" />
