Another things is the description of our company. First part: Aviation. airport. This is our site: https://ptphotography.squarespace.com if you can see the very last thumbnail is titled Aviation and airport. Dont know why this one appears. can we get rid of it? Next in line is @Paul Thuysbaert Photography. All rights reserve. Having Difficulty etc.. Now this one is embarrassing! This is the footer of our unlinked (SHOP page): https://ptphotography.squarespace.com/shop Please advise me how to fix what appears on web search. Thank you in advance, Kind regards, T
  2. Hello everyone, Can anyone please help me add thumbnail image on google search like the one on the left picture below? Left is my reference, right is my site. Thank you in advance, K My site: https://ptphotography.squarespace.com/
  3. Site URL: https://www.walkingforhealthandfitness.com In Goolge Search Console I get this error message on a graph: 48 poor URLs. This began 3/30. I had no idea until I typed my website address into Google Search and a blogpost from the site appeared but not the home page. What is the problem? How do I fix it See attachment...Notice the problem doesn't appear in mobile. Thanks, Frank
  4. Site URL: https://www.gileschristopher.co.uk Hi Guys - 2 months ago My website on Squarespce with a name www.mediawisdom.co.uk and had 2000+ backlinks and a high domain authority. I changed my domain to www.gileschristopher.co.uk and all my backlinks have vanished and domain authority drooped drastically. 2 months ago I set up 301 redirects and contacted the top linking companies directly and they have updated links to me.. Doing this i know i have at least 20 links.. BUT inspection site say i have zero!!! should i wait longer or start to change code/words or other things? I would be grateful for any input! Thank you
  5. Hey guys, I'm trying to optimise our blog post headline styles for google (picture 1 "Hochzeitsinspirationen: Nachhaltige…"). We're using template "Skye". The idea usually is that the blog post title should be recognised as headline 1 / h1. Of course! The problem is that apparently all the main blog post titles in this template – which seems to be made for blogging – are assigned "h2" by default. (picture 3_blog post title h2) I can't change it. (I checked the headlines with web developer: picture 2) I could repeat the headline in the following text box and assign it "h1", but I assume there must be i better solution. Doubling can't be it just to have it as h1. (picture 4_headline repeated in text box & 5_h1_recognised) So my question is: How can i get my blog post titles to be recognised as headline 1 / h1 …? Or is changing the template the only way? But like I said, it seems like this template is purposely made for blogging and Squarespace tries to cater to Google. Is there a bigger picture behind the blog post titles being h2 and I'm just not getting it? Thanks for your help.
  6. Site URL: https://www.murmali.com/shop/cork-bucket-gamma-natural Hi all, I have been checking the performance of my website with "pingdom" and I am trying to decrease the amount of external requests (so far I have 78 requests in the page in the link). I ignore for what reason but in every product page, the product images are requested three times (please find attached pingdom screenshot). I guess this is because squarespace resize the image I uploaded to fit the screen where the site is loaded. However three times seems excessive. Is there anyway around this? Thank you very much!
  7. Site URL: https://www.thehongkongfixer.com/ Hello from HK, First and before anything else: I hope all of you out there are doing fine. In these tough times, it is crucial our online presence serves our purposes. I love SS and it's user friendly modern design . Just like many have noted in a few forums , it is obvious my site's speed and loading is bad and that we my site does not rank as high as it should. We have implemented many of SS SEO's best practices and since Google has put an even more strong emphasis on first content paint and other speed indicators, it seems our efforts are in vain. The shitiest wordpress competitor wsite ranks better than we do . In thoe past we have compensated this with ad buy ..an expensive proposition. All replies by SS lead back to " oh but lighhouse" does not paint an acurate picture. I do not care about lighthouse or pingdom or any other tool. I just want to rank on first page for my industry. I am crying in despair here. It seems SS does not intend to address CSS and other issues...so ..back to WP? And maybe, I am no developer, I am missing something.......I just want to make films! Any help, strategy at all is very welcome . Thank you and be safe all, Kind regards David
  8. Hi, My Home Page SEO Title does not match the SERP results. Under the main SEO settings (Marketing/Seo) I have changed the Home Page Title so that it is: Personalised Wedding Invitations | Silk & Ink Designs (I have done this manually and removed %s as not working). This is how I would like it to look/be displayed. In the SERPs, my title is showing as Silk & Ink Designs: Personalised Wedding Invitations. Site title is switched with page name and the use of : rather than | I would be super grateful if anyone knows how to switch the SERP appearance so it looks like how I have typed it. Site has been recently crawled. Using 7.1, a few screen shots attached. Thanks so much.
  9. Site URL: http://http/www.canadianbilingualschool.com In my google console it say there is an error with the site map. Invaild date. How can I fix this?
  10. Hello, I've encountered a problem where none of my images are coming up in google searches. I have a portfolio style website, with a few pages of lots of images, yet none of them appear when searched for. The only images from my site that appear in searches are my logo and an image I've used on the contact page. I recently set up a shop with Shopify which is linked to my website, and all of the images from the shop appear in searches, so it's bizarre that none of the main website images do. I've gone through all of the SEO checklists, indexed the site via Google and added descriptions and tags to each image, yet none of them are showing up. I'm using the Wexley template, although I'm not sure if that effects anything? I asked Squarespace online chat for some insight into why it might be happening but they just sent links to articles I've already read. Anyone had a similar problem or has any insight as to why this might be happening? Any help would be much appreciated!
  11. Site URL: https://www.havenconnect.com/success-stories/hip-automated-list-updates?format=amp tl;dr -- how do we force squarespace to insert the trailing slash for the logo link to our homepage? this can cause crawl depth issues with web crawlers. specifically, squarespace does not automatically redirect clicks to that link to the trailing-slash-version of our website. as a result, crawlers report issues with crawl depth because the non-trailing-slash version of the website appears to require 4 or more clicks to reach the homepage. does this make sense? please let me know if you have any questions. thanks!
  12. Site URL: https://www.etailmaven.com/ Hi, I am using index pages to organize the content on my site (Brine - Mojave template) and I have followed the recommendations to set the sub pages to 'hide from search' since it's the index pages that I want visitors to land on. If these sub pages are hidden from search do they still need optimized page descriptions or does it not matter at all for SEO. The page descriptions do not show up on my site so they are not important in that respect. Thank you in advance for any insight.
  13. Site URL: http://amandabrandimore.ca Hi Everyone I am new to squarespace, so please bare with me. I have built my website using this technology and I host my domain with Sibername.com I have went through: the best pracitses guide and I have added SEO descriptions to all my pages, linked my social media profiles, adding a location map and I will be starting blogging soon. I have connected to google and added a Sitemap. I'm a bit confused on 3 things: 1- SEO keyword search shows "No data available". I am unsure of what to do here. 2 - When I search Amanda Brandimore, it does return my site but it's showing what was my old website information (when I had it with Weebly) See below. The description I have now is about coaching and not house sitting. UPDATE: MY DOMAIN PROVIDER BELIEVES IT'S BECAUSE MY OLD WEEBLY SITE WAS PUBLISHED. They have unpublished it and I will wait a few days for Google indexing to update. 3. If I google ' Amanda Goal success coach' , my site never returns. It's almost like if I don't put my full name, it's not returned.
  14. Site URL: https://clivedouglasmediation.co.uk/ Site URL: http://clivedouglas.com I have moved this from the "Page and Content" topic thread on this forum, as I reckon that it's more likely to find someone who knows what's causing this… I am developing a website for a client, who has used "an SEO consultant" (sic). For some reason, after the SEO title has been entered (by the consultant), the word "Untitled" now appears. I can't see where this is coming from or why. I have included a couple of screen shots to show how it's appearing, as well as the form panel. It's obvious that the "consultant" doesn't know much about Squarespace, but there's not much I can do to wrest this away from him, so it's my problem to solve, it seems. Thoughts, suggestions, solutions? Thanks in advance!
  15. Site URL: https://www.centricengine.com/ Hey all, I know Squarespace has a lovely fun bug that removes the site logo and title if you touch the SEO settings. Fun stuff. I've fixed it back to the logo and proper site title Centric Engine. However, some blog posts are still adding "Untitled" to the end of titles when sharing on social. Now I fixed things over a week ago, so it shouldn't be still pulling bad info. New blog posts don't have the "untitled", just old ones like this: https://www.centricengine.com/explorations/whos-who-on-the-farm-redux Any thoughts on why this is happening and how I might fix? Anyone have a time machine so I can go back and slap myself before choosing 7.1? Thanks 🙂
  16. Site URL: https://decade3.co.uk Is there a way to create a flowchart on my website using only HTML and CSS, or in a markdown file? I would like the flowchart to be in keeping with the theme of my website, and for the words to be indexable by Google too. For this reason I don't just want to paste a PNG file or image. I've attached an image of the flowchart here. Any advice is appreciated!
  17. Hi there, Googles structured data testing tool is finding 1 error and 2 warnings on my blog pages. Can you explain how i can resolve them please? Error: url A value for the url field is required. Warning: dateModified The dateModified field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. Warning: mainEntityOfPage The mainEntityOfPage field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. Many thanks, Ben
  18. Site URL: https://www.exaltedmktg.co.uk/ Hi there Forgive me as I’m very new to Squarespace and the world of start up business. I couldn’t afford a website build so decided to take on the design myself, however, if I thought web build was complex, then SEO is a whole new level of unknown to me. I think I’ve completed the SEO sections in the templates as best I can but just reaching out to see if there are any experts on the forum that I can PM to see if they can cast an expert eye over and give any support with input / rewording recommendations. Appreciate its a big ask as I know there are specialist firms out there that charge for this service but wondered if a Good Samaritan maybe able to help before I go down that route. Thanks in advance.
  19. I noticed that a URL that was redirected with utm parameters in the URL had the utm parameters stripped during the redirect. Are there any settings to tell squarespace to pass on any URL/UTM parameters to the destination link? Thanks, Jannette
  20. I am in the process of moving a site that I built for my wife from another hosting company to Squarespace. We will be starting the domain move this weekend. The old site is currently indexed by Google. I have both pages that will be part of the new site and others that will not. My question is how I handle page redirects. Do I make changes to the sitemap.xml file on the old site as well as make changes on Square space. The pages I'm most concerned about are the inventory pages which will go from a structure that looks like this: http://www.domain.com/inv_neck_ckd.php To this: https://domain.com/shop/necklaces I know that I need to make changes, I'm just not sure where to do that. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
  21. Site URL: https://www.nikkidinkicooking.com/blog/creamy-spicy-corn-dip.html On my client's website we are using a custom code block to insert a very nice looking recipe card on blog post page. The HTML of the recipe card uses the Recipe Schema so that Google displays an appropriate recipe card on search results. We are also using Rating Widget to display star ratings to users. We are struggling with getting the star rating on the google search result recipe card though. Since the Rating Widget is a third-party Javascript snippet, we need to capture that rating after the page and widget has loaded. We thus have to use an application/ld+json script tag with all the recipe data, which we append after the page has loaded. When using Google's Rich Results Testing Tool (https://search.google.com/test/rich-results), we can see that it accurately captures the Recipe data and the rating. However, on actual search results the rating still does not coming through. For example, use this link to see the Rich Results of a particular page: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nikkidinkicooking.com%2Fblog%2Fcreamy-spicy-corn-dip.html&user_agent=1 If you preview the result, you can view the recipe card with a rating on it. Disclaimer: on the rich results testing tool it does say, "This is a beta version. Not all rich results and error types are supported yet." Has anyone had any success displaying ratings on Google search results? What was your implementation?
  22. Site URL: https://www.tricentraluk.com/ Hi im fairly new to Sqaurespace and this is only my 2nd site build, for the same client (well its free work) i have migrated his old site to a new template everything is live and works. But when using a key word 'Triathlon Coaching', the site does not appear at all!!!! Only when I use the name in the URL does the site appear. Can anyone help please. Many thanks Rob Scott
  23. Site URL: http://cheadle-royal.co.uk Site URL: https://www.cheadle-royal.co.uk Hello my site has now been live for 3 weeks and since launch the average position on Google has continued to slip from the mid 20s to it current position of 58. During this time I have reviewed all of the sites content, page titles/description and have re-indexed it with Google numerous times, but with little to no effect on my ranking. The site features high with Bing and Yahoo but not on Google. So if someone could shed some light of what I'm missing or doing incorrectly I would be most grateful. Thank you.
  24. Site URL: https://servantleadership.ca Hello all! I'm about to start a new website project for an existing client. We have their current website built on Squarespace and the new one will be on Squarespace as well. All of the content is changing so we were going to start a brand new site in Squarespace. We were thinking this through as they have made some great moment with their SEO and get hits from all over the world - they recently landed jobs with Canadian Tire (Massive Canadian retailer) and Vodaphone in Egypt! They are concerned that with this brand new website they will lose some of that SEO. I should also mention we will be changing the domain from servantleadership.ca to servantleadershipacademy.com as their audience and customer base is now global. Should we be starting from scratch or should I build their new website with their current Squarespace plan? I'm hesitant as I just hate working in the preview mode and hate leaving public pages half baked as we work through a project. Or does any of this matter? Will we be losing our SEO gains by switching domains and having all new content anyway? I'm open to any and all feedback! Thank you! Matty @makewell
  25. I've got a client who is considering moving her website from Weebly to Squarespace but she is concerned that she might lose her ranking as the site has been around for many years so it is high up in the search engines for her key words. Does anyone know if transferring a site to another platform will affect rankings? I'd hate for her to lose business.
