  1. Is there anyway to hide index subpages from the built-in search so only the main index page appears? We use a Bedford template, so going to the direct subpage is just that section in a folder that gives you no access to the main index page. Really not ideal.
  2. Website: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com Access Password: c0di$ Hi. I am using the Five template. If I enable banners to appear at the top of every page, it also appears at the top of the search page: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com/search I would like to hide it from the search page only while still having banners on the other pages of the website. I was previously supplied this piece of code however it does not work for me as I first thought: /* Remove banner search page */ 2. body#yui_3_17_2_1_1568971484861_71 #banner-area-wrapper { 3. display: none; 4. } Thanks, Terry.

  5. Hello, My site uses the Om template. In Site Styles > Options > Header Subtitle, I have selected "None." However, in Google search results for my site, I see the site title as the main link, then underneath are the words "Street Address. City, State, Zip. Phone Number. Your Custom Text Here ..." Why are these items showing up when I have not selected those options for my header subtitle? Is there a way to remove these items from the site/and therefore Google, so the site has a cleaner look in search results? Thanks so much!
  6. By default, every page in the Five template has a big banner at the top. However I really want this hidden from the internal search page (www.myurl.com/search) and search results page because it pushes the search bar / results far too down the page when the banner is there. How can I do this so it is only hidden from the search and search results page?
  7. Hi all, I'm looking for a way to create a search function on a site I'm currently putting together where items (in this case properties for rent) can be indexed by the various things they offer in a similar way to how this company does it: https://www.salcombefinest.com/luxury-accommodation/ By selecting options from the list, it then shows only items that for instance have a hot tub or can sleep a certain number of people. Squarespace couldn't help and have told me it's a specialist function. Is this something anyone has any knowledge of? I thought it would be a case of adding categories and/or tags then adding some sort of search that uses those to present the required options but that doesn't appear to be the case. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hello, I am creating a website for a business networking organisation. I want to put all their members names on the website under their industry categories and then add a search option to the 'members' page to make finding them easy. Could anyone please describe the process to me on how to make this possible? I am having trouble understanding how to make this work. At the moment I have created a blog post for each category (eg: IT services) and added each member who works in IT services to that blog post. I have added a category called 'IT services' to that blog post. When I added the search bar however, and typed in for example, 'Don Wilks' (see screenshot), it would take me to the blog post he was listed on but not take me to HIS name. Is it possible to add tags to text within blog posts so using the search bar is more useful?
  9. Does anyone know how to tie and track a paid search keyword to the lead submission? I want to know what leads are using what keywords. I understand I can set up multiple landing pages, but if I have hundreds of keywords I'll have hundreds of landing pages. I just want to know what the lead clicked before they submitted a form. I have GA and GTM on the site now. Any advice?
  10. Hello,So say I search for the word "supply chains" in my website's built-in search feature. What shows up are the titles, thumbnails of the articles, and a scramble of words to show the description. It will basically have every sentence in the article with the word "supply chains" in there and italicize the word to produce very incoherent text. Is there a way to get rid of all that description and instead just have the meta description for each article in there? PS. Im using the brine template
  11. 12. Hello, I've encountered a problem where none of my images are coming up in google searches. I have a portfolio style website, with a few pages of lots of images, yet none of them appear when searched for. The only images from my site that appear in searches are my logo and an image I've used on the contact page. I recently set up a shop with Shopify which is linked to my website, and all of the images from the shop appear in searches, so it's bizarre that none of the main website images do. I've gone through all of the SEO checklists, indexed the site via Google and added descriptions and tags to each image, yet none of them are showing up. I'm using the Wexley template, although I'm not sure if that effects anything? I asked Squarespace online chat for some insight into why it might be happening but they just sent links to articles I've already read. Anyone had a similar problem or has any insight as to why this might be happening? Any help would be much appreciated!
  13. Hi everyone I have managed to add some custom CSS to change the fonts on my site - www.sophiecliff.com However I can't find the right custom CSS to change the default font in the buttons or search bar. Could anybody help? Thanks!
  14. Hey all! I'm running into some issues with the native in-site search Squarespace offers. I know there's options to hide blog categories, tags or entire blog pages from Google search. Is there a way to hide specific pages, category/tag pages or anything from the native in-site search? I've got a couple separate use cases... I have an old blog that needs to stay up because of some legacy tie-ins. I can't disable. I have it hidden from search engines, but the content still shows up in the in-site search and I don't want it to. I have a few specific tags for some blog items... one is "deer-elk" because I want them sorted together when displayed in a summary block. However, now when you search for "elk", ALL of the items tagged "deer-elk" show up even if they only have deer content. I'm really just trying to clean up my search results and keep 'em all relevant.
  15. I'm trying to add a Search Block to the header of this site: craftingyourpath.com The template has a default search function in the header that can be enabled, but from what I know, search results cannot be filtered unless a Search Block is being used. With that said, does anyone know how I can replace the template's search feature as a Search Block?
  16. How can I modify the page header to remove the search icon and make the navigation menu accessible to WCAG 2.0 standards? I'm building a website for a research lab associated with a University and we need to make sure the site meets WCAG 2.0 standards. These two elements of the page are not compliant but I'm not seeing any way to modify them. Are these issues known to squarespace and are they on your development plan to address? If so, what is the expected timeline for that? Thanks! Jill
  17. Hello, I need two search bars for my website, one that searches my entire site and another one that just searches the help pages. I know Collection Pages can be searched separately from the whole website, but unfortunately none of the Collection Pages on offer are suitable to create a help section. My help section has hundreds of pages of content and I need to be able to produce a search bar that is limited to searching just these pages. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. Does anybody know how to custom style the search block box dropdown list in CSS? I would like to change: 1. font 2. background color 3. thumbnail size Thanks.
  19. There's no alt text or other label associated with the search icon, so screen reader software (I tested with NVDA) announces it as 'button'. Can anyone please help me figure out how to add in alt text - or similar, I'm open to other options - so that screen reader users can find and use the search tool on my site? (I want to avoid using one of the search style options that adds the word search on the screen - it not only dwarfs the rest of our navigation, but search appears to be placeholder text, so that wouldn't really resolve the screen reader issue.)
  20. I know that you can limit the search bar to only search in 1 blog collection, but I want search to pull from multiple collections. Is that possible?
  21. Hi there, I'm running a property website and I was wondering if there was any way to have an advanced search bar. for example, this website has a great search bar:https://www.onthemarket.com Thanks!
  22. Hello, Is there a way to configure Squarespace's site-wide search (internal, not search engine) so that a visitor does not see results from selected pages that I wish to exclude? These would most likely include normal pages that are inside of an index page or folder. I know I can use a search block on a page and direct it to search a specific collection, but instead wish to use the header search from Brine to search many pages of the site. Thanks for any help!
  23. Hi there, I'm looking to have a search bar (essentially like the search block you can add when editing a page) added to the header. I dislike the search icon with this template, as it takes the user to a whole new page, versus being able to search quickly from the homepage. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get around this or a code to use to change this feature? Thank you for your time!
  24. Hi --Google produced a search result that linked to a page from the back end (content management system) of my Squarespace site. To be clear, the search result did not link to the normal ".com" URL, but rather to the Squarespace-generated random URL that appears when making updates to the site. -- What is going on here? -- How is Google crawling & accessing the CMS? -- Is unpublished content also vulnerable to prying Google eyes? Many thanks,Sam
  25. Hello Guys, I have seen a lot of posts on this subject, today I will show you how to add a search lens in the navigation bar (in the header) in Squarespace 7 using the tutorial made by the Squarespace Guru for Squarespace 6, that you can find here This is how it looks like: You will need to follow these steps: 1) Retrieve the search address for your Squarespace site, every Squarespace site has one. • If you have a custom domain it will be as follows: www.yourdomain.com/search • If you do not have a custom domain linked to your site, it will be as follows: www.yourusername.squarespace.com/search 2) Add in the Code Injection, in the header section the following code in Settings >> Advanced >> Code Injection >> Header: <link href="//maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.1.0/css/font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet"> This video shows you how to do it: 3) Add a link under the main navigation and name it the following: <i class=" fa fa-search"></i> Here is the video that shows you how to do it in Squarespace 7: As a note, it might take a few minutes for the lens icon to display.
