  1. I am currently working on a website built off of the Mojave template that utilizes the built in on-site search bar as well as several indexed pages. I would like for the search results to populate with the Index title, and not the titles of each page within the index. For example, one index is titled 'Missions' and it has the indexed pages of 'Missions-action', 'Missions-info', 'Missions-upcoming', etc. I would like the site search to only show 'Missions' and not the other page titles. Is this possible? Thanks for any help!
  2. Site URL: https://orca-porpoise-bej4.squarespace.com/config/pages Hi. I'm working on putting together a new real estate site for my dad and need to add in the custom IDX code from the MLS service he is apart of, but when I insert the code according to Squarespace's "Adding MLS Search" page, nothing shows up on my page. I contacted the IDX company to make sure I was grabbing the correct code and they said yes. Can someone help me figure out what I need to do to get this search functionality to appear on my page? I've attached some screen shots of what it looks like and the code I've dropped in. Thank you!
  3. Site URL: http://www.granvillehistory.org/ Hi, I run the website for our local historical society, and we have uploaded OCR-ed PDFs of our quarterly journal. I would love to make those PDFs searchable through the SquareSpace search block so that people can find the issues they are interested in, but it seems that the search block will only find content on pages, not on linked/uploaded files. Is there a way to do this or a work-around that someone can suggest? Thanks, --Bill
  4. Site URL: https://julehjaelpen.dk/ Hello Is there a code for moving the search to the header? And how can I replace the box with just an icon? My page for search results need to be customized because the menu is not readable. How can I get access to the search page? Look forward to hear from you. Regards, Marianne
  5. Site URL: https://www.skp.com.sg/ Hi, is it possible to implement a better search engine that auto-corrects spelling mistakes or show did you mean? https://towardsdatascience.com/autocorrect-in-google-amazon-and-pinterest-and-how-to-write-your-own-one-6d23bc927c81 Also, can we customize the search results to display more than 1 product per row?
  6. I read that some templates on Squarespace don't support a Search bar/icon for the site's header. I wonder if this is true for Version 7.1 also, which has the same template to support all features. I want to add one search icon with a bar to the header of my site, preferably next to the social icons. But I don't see this option available in the header's settings. Can anyone help?
  7. Site URL: https://miguelmateas.com/daily-picks Good morning! Does anyone know how to edit the placeholder text in the search box from "Search" to something else? Thank you in advance of your help! Miguel

  9. I am currently using Squarespace 7.1 and I have page with a lot of videos that will serve as a "how to" library and I'd like to add a search bar for only that page, with results based off of the content I've written in each of the videos captions. Is it possible to do this? It looks like you could do something similar in 7.0, when you were able to videos as a gallery but that doesn't seem to be available anymore.
  10. Site URL: https://www.alimerriscoaching.com/ Hi, I want to find out how I can create a table when my site comes up in google search. Please see attached an example of what I am implying.
  11. Is there a way to add prices to the products on the search results?
  12. Hi, I am trying to hide the header when users click to expand on the search bar. The site is bilingual. But the CSS that I have currently added only affects the index pages and perfectly hides the content on other pages but when users click on the search bar all the content from both languages appears and clutters it. Have been wracking my brain on figuring out how to do this for a while now. It would be much appreciated. I am using Rally (Brine template) as my default.
  13. Site URL: http://www.fife-silver-yaxf.squarespace.com Hello, I am trying to edit my site's background image by searching through Squarespace's image search. But, I don't see any option to do that. Under "design" there is no "style," or when I click the pencil to edit the background, it gives me options to replace the image from my own computer, but I would like to use one of Squarespace's images. Using 7.1 Bailard. Any help on changing my sites background by searching for the image?
  14. Site URL: http://myautismally.org/search Version 7.1 - Please fix the built-in Search function ... numerous issues: The following is intended to be constructive. 1. In-spite of the help articles the search only works on blog and groups pages, sadly we wasted too much time using the layout template to build pages only to find search doesn't work. 2. Note - the Search does appear to work, for a split second I see results from other pages, but then those disappear and are replaced with the "Your search did not match any documents." 3. Clean up the documentation - if Search doesn't work and you know it - ADMIT IT and tell us when it will work. If it works partially - ADMIT IT and tell how it "almost sorta" works and when it will really work. 4. For many users there's a difference between SEO search - what we want Google to crawl through, and what we may want our customers, viewers, users to be able to Search. Albeit, right now with a non-working Search - I'll take "works" with appropriate description ... for example - today 24Feb2020 it "works" on blog pages. 5. Add real world seach, modern, up-to-date capability ... like that box up there at the top of YOUR OWN webpages ... the box on the upper right, with the magnifying glass. 6. When the "search" does work ... stop trying to search letter by letter, you're code programming ain't that good or fast, let the user stop typing, maybe wait for a return character before starting to search. And stop erasing my search when I want to retry - maybe I just want to change a letter or add/remove a word. Thank you.
  15. Site URL: https://www.opticillusions.com Hi - I am working on a new website, and chose to go with 7.1 for the streamlined approach. However... I am really disappointed, having nearly finished, to find that I cannot include a search bar facility in my header. This is a HUGE ommission - when will this be fixed? It is really important to my site - and looking at comments from other Squarespace users - to theirs as well.
  16. Hello Is there a way to create a phone or organization directory list with search or a lookup function based on department or category of people and function?ThanksBuck
  17. Site URL: https://www.spiritofhealthkc.com/ For several months now our search bar has not been working properly. We have a title called, "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" but if you search the full title these ways, it says it can't find anything: "best practices for avoiding & combating viruses" "best practices for avoiding and combating viruses" "viruses" "Best Practices For Avoiding and Combating Viruses" However, if you write it exactly how the blog is written with the same punctuation (caps and & symbols), it will show up "Best Practices For Avoiding & Combating Viruses" or "Viruses" This happens with all of our blogs. I've reached out to Squarespace numerous times over the last few months about the issue. They've re-indexed the site several times and below is their most recent response. Is anyone else dealing with this? Any ideas on what is going on? "After taking some additional time to investigate, I can confirm the issue you're seeing with the built-in search bar is due to an issue on our end. In this case, the issue is preventing partial phrases or keywords from returning results. In order to view a specific post in search results, the exact title needs to be entered. I can also see you previously reported this issue in February, 2020 on a separate email request and can confirm we have noted your sites instance of this issue for our Design and Engineering teams to review. They’ll use this feedback when implementing fixes and improvements in future releases." "This bug's impact will vary depending on a number of factors like the type of site, the volume of content, how visitors navigate the site, and the ways the content is promoted or organized. For example, a lot of sites may never experience this behavior because of their site's structure/content or how often their visitors dig up older posts. For your site in particular, it looks like all of your posts are on a single Blog Page with posts dating back to 2014. If your visitors are frequently searching for older posts, you may want to consider creating multiple Blog Pages so you have an additional layer of organization - Blog Page, Category, Tag. Also, since the Blog Page and Summary Blocks display posts in chronological order, you may want to create a tag/category specifically for these popular posts. You may also want to consider hiding the Search Block from your Navigation due to its inconsistent results. You can do this from Design > Site Styles > Header:Layout > Search Position > Hide. This will encourage visitors to explore the other links and pages you've set up for finding this content."
  18. Site URL: https://www.rainbowbridge.love/ Hey - I was surprised to hear that 7.1 templates don't have an option to put a search bar in the header nav as an always on. Building an ecomm site I figured that would be pretty standard. I don't want to put it on individual pages as that would mess with the flow and design. Any ideas for custom code to have a search bar in the header nav?
  19. Site URL: https://mft-muenchen.com Hello, I wanted to add a search function block to the page, which worked. But when typing in a search word, it only searches through words on the first page. What would be important for me is, that the whole website would be searched through. Thanks for any tipps!
  20. Site URL: https://www.ressources.reseaucocagne.asso.fr/programmation Hello, On my website I use archive blocks but they don't work even though I filled everything in the options... Does anyone have any tips or solutions ? Thanks !
  21. Hello, I have a squarespace site (siteX.com) and created another site outside of squarespace (anothersiteX.siteX.com). I'd like to use the squarespace site searchbox to also search anothersiteX.siteX.com. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach this? Thanks!
  22. Hi everyone. I am working on a site with a dark background using a template from the brine template familiy, and for some silly reason the input text colour for search, contact forms and shopping cart quantity is all linked to the body text colour of my site. Not a problem if you have a white background, but you see how this could be an issue is your body text colour needs to be white!! I used the below code to fix the cart quantity, and selected lightbox mode for my contact form as a temporary workaround, but I'm having trouble adapting the code for the Squarespace built-in Search page. show-cart .quantity input { color: #000000; } Any help with the code I need to enter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Luke
  23. Site URL: https://burnhamparish.gov.uk/ Hi, I'm looking to create a directory for my site for activities on in the area. I am aware that Squarespace doesn't have any options for creating directories but I have been told that I can just create links on a page and a search bar, but I really wanted to make something more sophisticated than this. Perhaps there is a way of creating one through code or any plug in ideas? I know there's community box which is great, but I don't really want to have to pay for extras unless it's a one off payment. Thanks
  24. Hi, I'm wanting to add custom text to the search block. It currently says "search" in the box. Does anyone know how to have it display custom text? Thank you!!!
  25. Site URL: https://andrea.co Hi there, I have a question. How do I change the hover color of my search icon? I've tried with this, but it doesn't work .Header-search-form a:hover { fill: #0a97a9 !important; stroke: #0a97a9 !important; color: #0a97a9 !important; } Thanks Andrea
