  1. I'm designing a Buy Local website with 25 (current business) and trying to find a way to make it easier for people to get on and search by business district and/or by service, City, or keyword. This site below has a pretty good layout - and if you click through, I really love the way it columns everything, and would love to find a way to do that. Currently previewing using Maple, but hasn't worked well - So been working on a design in Impact, and like it so far, but open! https://directory.localfirstaz.com thanks for all the help I can get!
  2. I read that some templates on Squarespace don't support a Search bar/icon for the site's header. I wonder if this is true for Version 7.1 also, which has the same template to support all features. I want to add one search icon with a bar to the header of my site, preferably next to the social icons. But I don't see this option available in the header's settings. Can anyone help?
  3. Hi everyone, I am struggling since a month already with how to organize my music on my website. I am a composer & performer, and have around 100 tracks on soundcloud I want to organize and display on my website. I used a blogpost for each of the tracks with respective categories (improvisations, compositions, performances etc.) and tags (instrumentation, genre etc). I organized a listening page with a tag cloud, an archive and a search bar. Well, I am just very unhappy with the options I have: -I don't want to use Album Pages because the audio quality allowed is very low (for the kind of music I am making), plus there is a limit of 60 tracks per album and I would have to re-upload everything. -If I use the blogposts (because I like the way of organizing with categories and tags) people have to make so many clicks: they have to wait for the search results to populate which is so much slower than I thought, than they have to click the blog post title and enter the blog post and than -if on mobile choose to play in browser or soundcloud - and than press play. This requires quite a lot of patience. Anyone has had similar situations, of having to organize lots of music by categories and not being happy with the quality of the squarespace player? There surely should be an easier way than to organize pages for each category and tag...I have a LOT of material to do that and I would have work extra every time I post new music. I have a personal plan so can only use CSS but if it would be possible to re-design how search-results display (that the souncloud link shows as well under the title of the post or as a pop-up when pressing the title), I am willing to switch to premium and work with a developer to make this change for me if it is above my capabilities... I already tried to work with a developer and his suggestion was to switch to wordpress...not so useful! Happy 2020 everyone! Cornelia
  4. We're doing a little SEO housekeeping to kickstart the new year and went through each page to make sure all the SEO/social meta data was filled in (per the SEO checklist). We then noticed that when we first launched, we hid all page sections in our homepage index from search results. Is this the best practice? What are the pros and cons of doing this? Thanks in advance for the help!
  5. To anyone that can help! We are currently using the "Mentor" [Live] template and have installed a search bar. We are using the blog feature as a sort of document repository for resource documents for customers and a central location to keep things as a backup if we need them. Currently, I am trying to "remove" an older blog post (a document) that is no longer relevant. I have; Removed the categories tag Removed the keywords tags So the post no longer shows on the main resource / blog page specifically. However, the issue I am running into is that when using the search bar the results are still showing the document / post that I wanted to remove if if any part of the title is in the search criteria. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I don't want to completely remove the post/document as we do have older versions of software, customers, etc. that may have/may be linked to it and we don't want to break those or need to redirect links every time a new document goes up. The Resources page in reference can be found at: https://teameda.com/resources-index/#getting-started-index The document / post title in question is: "Installation of LAMUM on Windows Server, License key, and Windows Services." Thank you anyone for any help that you can provide. ~Jimmy @TeamEDA_Inc
  6. The search icon in the nav bar isn't working for me (I'm using Impact). Nothing registers when I hover over it or try to click it. The search bar does work when I set the style to "underlined," but I only want the icon. Any ideas? Thanks.
  7. Does anyone know how I can change the colour of the search icon?
  8. Hi, how do I make Squarespace's Search Results show products only?
  9. I would like to customise my product search results page when no results are found. I am using the Nueva template. It will only be searching for content from this page: https://www.loungepair.com/live-access-requests For example, I would like the standard 'Your search did not match any documents' text to be 'We've found no people matching your search'. Is this possible? There is little ability to customise via the site styles page.
  10. I have a landing page on my site that is unrelated to the other content on my site. So much so that I would like to prevent the site title from appearing in the search results. I want my site title to appear on every other page in the search results for my site, just not this one particular page. Is that possible to do with CSS?
  11. Hey there, A few months ago I set off on a mission to reskin my private jet charter website - https://www.flyjetblak.com . I am no expert in design or development, rather a mad man when it comes to aviation... So, after working with some great developers and designers and many an endless night staying up creating content and designing the new layout I have found that the site has slipped quite dramatically in Google Search results. It seems that every person who markets themselves as a SEO expert on places like Upwork just end up having the same copy and paste style report on what I should l do which seems to be so generic at times I wonder if they even bothered to look at the website. I have poured a huge amount of time and effort into this project and would be grateful for any advice or help from community members that have experience in optimising on-page SEO and boosting SEO results for Squarespace websites. Many thanks, Sam
  12. I have a blog set up where I would like to create a page under the main navigation where I can list in short form tasting notes on red and white wines, where the reader can filter by type, grape, vineyard, etc. I think this is possible if I had done a shopping site but no idea how to even get started to build this. thewoffice.co
  13. Hi all, When I search for my website on google, under the title of the website it has the headings that are on my website e.g projects, personal, about etc. but it also has filenames for images e.g f1001.jpg . I am not sure which images these represent or more importantly how to avoid an file names appearing in the search at all. Has anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it? All help would be appreciated. Thanks , Emil
  14. I am currently working on a website built off of the Mojave template that utilizes the built in on-site search bar as well as several indexed pages. I would like for the search results to populate with the Index title, and not the titles of each page within the index. For example, one index is titled 'Missions' and it has the indexed pages of 'Missions-action', 'Missions-info', 'Missions-upcoming', etc. I would like the site search to only show 'Missions' and not the other page titles. Is this possible? Thanks for any help!
  15. HI There, I'm wanting to host a really basic searchable database on a couple of sites. The database is really basic and needs to include a company name, stand number and a web address. I can't seem to find anything that works in a simple & responsive way. I've explored Caspio - but it's a complicated product that is not responsive without adding extra code, plus its expensive, and my client needs to keep costs way down. They will also need to be able to maintain going forward and are not tech savvy. Also - Caspio once embedded breaks the editing capabilities of the page its hosted on, which is not good. What I'd love is a plug in or something easy to use, that means everything is hosted on Squarespace and there is no double handling or external subscription required. Crossing fingers someone on here has found a unicorn, :)
  16. Does anyone know how I could go about adding a input field on the header of the page? I am trying to integrate squarespace with another site for our company, and one of the first steps is this.
  17. Has anyone been successful in customizing the sort order for search results? I want to return results sorted alphabetically by page title. But Squarespace returns all search results based on "relevance." Unfortunately, relevance is a blunt instrument. For example: We're selling wines. We have 700 different wines. 50 of them are vintage 2010. A customer searching "2010" will get a list of results that are sorted randomly, because the vintage "2010" is listed exactly twice for every wine. Instead, we'd like the results to display alphabetically like this: Amazing Estates Cabernet 2010 750 ml Bob's Vineyards Napa Valley Red 2010 750 ml Carrington Family Merlot 2010 750 ml etc. Has anyone figured a way to achieve this? Thanks in advance! - Jeff
  18. Hello Squarespace Community: I know this may not be the type of thing people are discussing here, but I thought I'd give it a go. We would like to display a searchable catalogue of information within our Squarespace website. The website belongs to the Turtle Conservancy, and they would like a way to search and display every species of turtle and tortoise along with a map, conservation status and short informational blurb. Does anyone have any experience with custom web app development to display a predefined set of information... With my little experience in databases, Salesforce and FileMaker this seems like it may be a great application of database technology... there will only be about 370 records total. One really nice example is the way the ebird website offers a search by species and by region on their website here: https://ebird.org/explore Any and all comments / ideas are welcomed and greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  19. Hello! Is there anyway to customize search result page? I have Clay template. I would like to have only photos + titles in search result, without descriptions, filenames or anything else. Does anyone know how to hide them? Thank you
  20. Hello, I am trying to have a search box on my website that you can select your preferred month and it will show the results from the schedule page. Are there any plugins that can help me or what should i do?
  21. Hi, I'm wanting to add custom text to the search block. It currently says "search" in the box. Does anyone know how to have it display custom text? Thank you!!!
  22. Is there anyway to hide index subpages from the built-in search so only the main index page appears? We use a Bedford template, so going to the direct subpage is just that section in a folder that gives you no access to the main index page. Really not ideal.
  23. Hello! Is there anyway to customize search result page? I have Rally template. I would like to have only photos in search result, without any titles, texts or anything. Does anyone know how to hide them?
  24. Website: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com Access Password: c0di$ Hi. I am using the Five template. If I enable banners to appear at the top of every page, it also appears at the top of the search page: https://caterpillar-tulip-78l5.squarespace.com/search I would like to hide it from the search page only while still having banners on the other pages of the website. I was previously supplied this piece of code however it does not work for me as I first thought: /* Remove banner search page */ 2. body#yui_3_17_2_1_1568971484861_71 #banner-area-wrapper { 3. display: none; 4. } Thanks, Terry.
