  1. Hey everyone, My site publishes work from both artists and writers. I'd like to be able to use the author metadata capabilities so that a reader can view all the work by a particular contributor. The issue I'm having is that I can't seem to figure out how to remove the "Written by" text before an author's name on a blog post in 7.1. Does anyone have any css tips and tricks that might be able to help me out? Thank you!!!
  2. Hey! Using this great resource from @tuanphan I have been able to figure out some simple CSS customizations, including hiding the pagination on blog posts using the code below. .item-pagination { display:none !important; } I thought I can replace .item-pagination with time.dt-published.blog-meta-item.blog-meta-item–date and .blog-meta-item.blog-meta-item–author.p-author.author to remove the Date and Author metadata respectively (location of which is outlined in the attached screenshot) but it doesn't seem to be working. It's worked flawlessly swapping out other class names but it's not working for these for some reasons. I know there is a toggle in the editor to remove these but that removes the metadata across the whole site, not just the blog that post is within (which is stupid that the settings don't just apply to that blog). I know how to correctly inject the code so it only applies to the pages I want, but I can't even get it to work in the sitewide Design>Custom CSS. The site is not published yet so I can't share the link but this should be easy to replicate on any site to test. You don't even have to save the Custom CSS to see the result. Does anyone have insight into what would need to be edited to the code above to get this to work? Is there any way to set it to have a higher priority than the toggle in the editor since it may be correct but just overrun by the built in settings? Could those classes be incorrect? Thanks!
  3. Site URL: https://explore.berkshiremuseum.org I'd like to set the metadata category at the top of each individual post in my Staff blog to go to this specific page: https://explore.berkshiremuseum.org/berkshire-museum-staff vs. the page that is automatically generated when clicking the category link. I'm having trouble with the code for this and am hoping someone can help. I'm working in the Brine Template. Thanks!
  4. Hi, I have a Photography biz and Design & Print biz, am thinking overall my website would be Photography related but am I able to add a section for Design & Print and change the SEO for this?
  5. Site URL: http://www.e2tadventures.com Hello....I want to add some code to my homepage to add the metadata structured data for my social media accounts. I need to paste the code after the <body> section. Do I add it in the "advanced" section of the home page (see attached image) or do I do it another way? Thanks!
  6. How can I go about hiding my secondary metadata (the tags) from the Main Blog List page but keep them visible next to the Post Date on ONLY the individual blog post page? I only wish for the Date metadata to be visible on the Main Blog List. I'm currently working in the Brine theme.
  7. I am using the Brine family (Rally template) 7.0. I want to display meta tags on the blog posts only and hide them from the blog list and blog collection list. Is this possible? I have tried using some code found in other threads, but none have worked for me. https://shopstyletherapy.com/style-therapy-blog
  8. Hi all, I've just started building my blog in mojave template and the default alignment for the title and metadata is left aligned at the top of the page. I cannot seem to find a way in the styles to center it. Is there a custom CSS code that I can use to do it? Thanks in advance!
  9. I have enabled rich pins so that when people pin images from my blog using my Pinterest Save Button, it fills in all the extra metadata from Squarespace, like the post title, post description, alt text, etc. I used this article to do it: https://thirtyeightvisuals.com/blog/pinterest-rich-pins-squarespace?fbclid=IwAR3MihzgrQd1XZXzwaOL5uoOftb4gzWsqe8oW-6CHzcgmhzVrk16fcKL9wA It works kind of well. Sometimes certain pins don't follow the rules. Like, in that link she shows how to make the author default to "My Name | My Blog Name" instead of simply "My Name". It only works about half the time; some pins will say the correct author and other pins still just say "My Name". Whatever, I can deal with that. Sometimes the title is not the blog title like it's supposed to be, which is a little more annoying, but it's an infrequent problem I can also deal with. But, I want to be able to change the description. Using the above, the main description defaults to my blog post description, and the secondary description defaults to my image alt text. Leaving alt text as-is is fine, but for the main description I want to create my own special description for the pin, mainly because some of my blog post descriptions are really long, I'd like the pin description to be more succinct without having to change my blog post description. Also I want to add hashtags to my pin description. I know on Wordpress they can edit data-pin-description, alt text, data-pin-title, data-pin-url, data-pin-media, etc etc when they upload an image. Squarespace users have no automated way of doing this, but I figured there must be a way to do it manually. So then I found these instructions: https://www.untangledbiz.com/blog/2018/11/7/why-alt-text-not-the-right-place-for-pin-descriptions This also....kind of works. I can put in the correct image and URL, but none of the other metadata tags populate correctly. Data-pin-description fills in the secondary description that's in small text at the bottom (which is usually just the image alt text), instead of the main description. What I'm wanting to edit is the main description. Using "alt="insert alt text here" doesn't work at all to change the alt text area back to what it's supposed to be. Data-pin-title doesn't work at all either, it's still defaulting to the blog post title. (This is a brand new tag Pinterest is implementing so maybe I shouldn't expect data-pin-title to work yet, but my Wordpress friends have gotten it to work). Any other ideas? How can I change my pin descriptions to something custom instead of just the blog post description? Doesn't seem like it should be this hard. Should I just give up and accept whatever the rich pin format gives me?
  10. Can anyone suggest how to change the blog layout for the Native template? I would like the Date/Title flush with the upper left, in one line, not two, placed above the post, and remove the need to place any text there. Also, the metadata of Likes/Share removed. Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi, all - wondering if it's possible to display tags for a blog post in addition to/separately from other metadata (e.g. category, date), and elsewhere on the page. Context: I'm using the Brine template. Under "Site Styles," you can set "primary" and "secondary" metadata to display on any given post — and you can only display two metadata types. By default, those two pieces of metadata display under the blog post title, as below (here, I'm displaying Categories and Date). Question: What I'm wondering is — is it possible to, in addition to the "Primary" and "Secondary" metadata you can set in Site Styles, display a third metadata type (e.g. tags), elsewhere on the page (e.g. at the bottom of the post)? I'd love to be able to have a display at the bottom of a post, near the previous/next links and social share buttons, that lists the post tags (e.g. Tagged under: Thing 1, Thing 2, Thing 3). Is it possible?
  12. I'd like to change the font size of the author name and categories in my summary blocks. I've already used the following CSS to change the font size of excerpt text: .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-excerpt p { font-size:16px !important} But I need something more for the metadata. Thanks!
  13. I have been trying to change the thumbnail that shows up when I share my site on facebook. Only thing I get is the image I've uploaded in my page settings. That image happens to also be the main banner for the page. I want that image to stay the same but want a different one when I'm sharing my site on facebook. I've tried inserting code in the header, the facebook debugger recognizes both images, but I can only choose the main banner image thumbnail and not the different one I want for it. Please let me know if there is a fix for this.
