  1. I am trying to change the padding on a div in the Rally theme to be more mobile-responsive (currently when on mobile, the large padding forces the text off the edge of the page (see first screenshot), whereas I want a centered div (see second screenshot). I've put this JS code into my code injection but to no avail; I've been reading that code injection does not work on Index pages, so am thinking that might be the issue. Any advice on what to do? Following is the code (which works fine in Chrome DevTools): <script> if (screen.width <= 640){ var box = document.getElementsByClassName('newsletter-form-wrapper newsletter-form-wrapper--layoutFloat newsletter-form-wrapper--alignCenter'); for (var i=0; i<= box.length; i++){ box[i].style.padding = "50px"; } } </script>
  2. Built out caracoutureinvitations.com using the Jones index for home page.Client wants the galleries (currently displaying at very bottom of page) to appear at top of page. Is there a simple code to do this?
  3. Is there a way with to add a folder (and all its sub-sites) to an index page? I know it's not possible the "ordinary" way.I use the Flatiron index page and have a (not yet linked) folder with sub-sites that I would like to be shown on the index page, which is my homepage. Any ideas?I'm new to coding but got help from some people so grateful for any tips you have :)Thanks!
  4. I'm using Forte, and for the index, it automatically creates a dropdown of all the galleries as links. Rather have a dropdown for the links, I just want those links to be my nav buttons. This way, you could either click on a page in the slideshow, or you can just click one of the links in the nav bar, and they will take you to the same place. What's the best way to do this? (I.e., is it something that is built in, or will I need to add custom code) Thanks!
  5. I would like to add an outline to my text on the Index pages to help the show up a little better. I have tried using other CSS code that I have found in the forums without success. Could anyone suggest anything that would help? The site is https://coral-magnolia-rgj9.squarespace.com and the password to view is FBHSsite. The template is Fulton Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
  6. Hi, I would like to remove the index page from appearing at the bottom of a page when I scroll down whilst using the Tremont template. I have attached a link to the website to illustrate my point. https://www.slld.lighting/varde-partners-st-james-market Is there code I can use to stop this from happening? Thanks
  7. Hi Team, I want to change the element Id for the web page that is created using Square space. Currently the Id is dynamic and I'm using A/B test tool t optimize my website. When tried to make the changes, it's not getting saved as the Id is changing.
  8. I have implemented custom code to float an index section between two other sections in the Brine template. This is on a few different index pages, but specifically for the sake of this example, we'll look at the "Journal" page, and the floating section is titled "Journal Float" (creative, I know). I added a plain white banner background to give it some oomph, but am curious if there is anyway to add a border around the entire floating section to help it stand out a bit more using CSS. Website Password: weddings Page: Journal, floating section at the top titled "Journal Float" Any ideas on best way to go about this?
  9. How do I: A. - have my interior pages not function as separate interior pages but only as snap-to sections on home page? B. - have these pages/sections listed in the navigation? Currently, I am trying to have all interior pages viewed on home page only, not as additional separate interior pages. I want the nav to list all these sections and when clicked on you are scrolled down and snapped to that section only on the home page. If that makes any sense.
  10. Hello. I am using the Miller template and I have created a full bleed gallery grid block on one of the index pages. The website is: https://chinchilla-shallot.squarespace.com and the password is: Testing The top and bottom borders/spacing/padding are acceptable enough on a desktop: However, on a mobile there is too much border/spacing/padding above and below the gallery block: No matter what I try, I just can't seem to reduce it. I have tried lots of different things including all of the following gallery css variations, but nothing seems to work, or it just messes other regular image blocks up on the website. @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) { .sqs-gallery-design-grid-slide .sqs-block.gallery-block .sqs-block-gallery .sqs-block { padding: 0px !important; } } And also: @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) { .sqs-block.gallery-block { padding-top: 0px !important; padding-bottom: 0px !important; padding-left: 0px !important; padding-right: 0px !important; } .sqs-layout .sqs-row .sqs-block:first-child { padding-top: 0px !important; } .sqs-layout .sqs-row .sqs-block:last-child { padding-bottom: 0px !important; } } This is getting really frustrating that I can't seem to fix it, so I would really appreciate any help to resolve this issue. I just want the gallery blocks to be full bleed on both desktop and mobile, with no unnecessary padding, without affecting any other blocks or image blocks elsewhere on the website or on other index pages. Thank you for your help.
  11. I really like the styling of the Events Page in list view. I'd like this exact same view to display on my index page, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is this possible? For now I've added a summary to the index but the styling is different and not nearly as engaging. I'm using Brine. www.paderewski.squarespace.com What it looks like now as a summary block: What it looks like on its own events page, and what I want on my index:
  12. Hello Squarespace Community! I'm usually able to find the answers I need on here without having to ask the question myself, but this is the first time I've been stumped. I've read many similar questions to mine, but I haven't been able to find the answer I need, so I apologise if this has been asked before. I'm using the Impact template (in the Brine family) and have an index gallery here:https://www.caveen.com/home#projects-home I have used this CSS code to generate a coloured, transparent overlay with the image heading text when the image is hovered over: /* Gallery hover */ .Index-gallery-item-content { opacity: 0; transition: all .25s ease-in-out; min-width: 100%; min-height: 100%; } .Index-gallery-item-content:hover { opacity: 1 !important; transition: all .25s ease-in-out; } The problem is I'm unable to get the heading text to align vertically in the centre of the overlay. When there is no min-height property, the text is vertically centralised, however then the overlay only reaches the height of the text, and I want it to cover the entire image, both for stylistic and UX purposes, as the hover will then trigger over the entire image, not just where the text will render. When the min-height property is set to 100% , the text is anchored to the top of the overlay. I've tried setting the heading text to display as a table cell that can be vertically aligned with this CSS code but to no avail: .Index-gallery-item-content h2 { display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; } Am I missing something? Any help would be much appreciated as I'm a CSS novice. Thanks,Sam
  13. How can I go from an "index" to an "index" using the carson template. It currently only let's you go from an "index" to a page or gallery. However, I would like for the links on the main index page open up another index page. Is there any workaround using custom code or another way to do this?
  14. Is there a way to have an index page linked in the footer without its content sections listed in the footer? I'm using Pedro/Brine. Specifically, I'd like my footer to list "Resources" and then when you click on it, it goes to an index page with the sections "websites," "books," "podcasts," etc. Currently it shows all of these subheadings in the footer, but not resources. So I guess I want it to do exactly the opposite of what it's designed to do, lol. Thanks! Love, Jeanna
  15. Hi, I have two questions: Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to create an index page from scratch -creating configuration and any necessary template files? My google searches were not successful. Is there an in-depth API guide you guys can recommend? I found squarespace's to be good for a cursory introduction. But it leaves many question marks. A lot of the properties in JSON files are not clearly described and this leads to errors and frustrations. Thank you so much.
  16. Trying to recreate (design wise) what adobe.com has on their homepage (Screenshot attached) or you can just visit https://www.adobe.com/ I'm having trouble with putting images on the banner in Squarespace to replicate this for our offerings. We are using Moksha template so I'm not sure if that impacts anything. Are there more advanced settings to edit? I was thinking of adding a gallery block but it inserts below the banner... My other question is about font color. If I change the site style for Heading 2 Overlay - again to change the color of the font only in the Banner, is this the proper way to change it and not affect other Heading 2 fonts in us on regular pages? Thanks in advance!
  17. I'll try to explain this the best I can. I have my site (Marta template) set to apply a minimum height (pages and backgrounds only) of 99vh. When I view the site using my Ipad mini in google chrome, the banner background image (or text box) jumps/adjusts every time I scroll up and down. The tab bar on chrome shrinks when you pull up to view the site. The second you pull back down the tab bar re-appears and essentially resets the browser height. This is the problem. The banner is constantly adjusting to this browser height change. I've tested the site using Safari and this doesn't happen. Any way to prevent this from happening? It's extremely cumbersome. This does not happen on my iPhone 8. Test the site here: http://www.shopfletcherandco.photo/up-ca
  18. Hi all, So I have built a website using index and sub pages throughout but now have found some issues relating to SEO. I do not want the individual sub pages to appear in search results as they do not make sense as standalone pages, and the user experience of the site has not been designed in this way. However if I noindex them, does this mean that the content within them is not crawable by google as part of the main index page? The index page itself doesn't have any content, so if I noindex the sub pages then from an SEO point of view there is nothing on the index page for google to crawl. SS don't seem to know a definite answer. Many thanks in advance Rosie
  19. Hi forum Do anyone know the class to target to edit the built-in fade effect in the Index Galleries? Managed to target the entire galley but that also fades the titles
  20. Hello,I'm using Flatiron for my porfolio, and the first issue I ran into was that I wasn't able to add captions to the photos in galleries. The workaround was to create a page and add a gallery to it. Now the tricky part is that I don't want these pages with a gallery to live in the "index" because they're meant to be more sub-pages. When I move the pages out of the index, the title and description goes away, so I'm trying to figure out a way to add that back.
  21. I'm trying to remove the overlay color of the banner section of one of the Index Pages on my site.... The option in the Style Editor will remove it from all pages... Any idea?
  22. I've created a website using the Hayden template and I would like to add a dropdown navigation to the main menu so that users can quickly navigate to a specific section within an index from the menu. Right now, the theme only supports the top level index page to appear within the main navigation, and I would like to be able to reveal the sections within the index in a dropdown menu upon hover. This would likely involve creating anchor tags for the different sections and then referencing them in the dropdown menu, but I'm not sure what code I need to inject in order to achieve this, and how to do it without breaking the navigation for tablet and mobile. I've seen others attempt to do this by creating folders and then referencing the index sections as a page within a folder, but this doesn't achieve the effect I'm looking for because, if a user clicks on the section within the dropdown navigation, it will only reveal that particular section and the user cannot scroll up or down to view the other sections. Does this make sense? In short, what I'm looking to do is to create dropdown menu navigation for the sections within an index using anchor tags. Any suggestions and coding wisdom are welcome!! Thanks!
  23. Hi all, I am slowly learning CSS but inevitably have problems with syntax between different themes. I'm trying to change the background color (technically an overlay in this case) for the Services section on this index page. The collection ID is 59e653fc8fd4d2e4bc8651b2, which I've tried to incorporate in various ways, but I cannot get the bloody syntax right. Sofia (Brine family) has two overlays that alternate on indexes, so sometimes if you want to change the color on one section the overlay will ruin an image on another section. I'm trying to change the color to hsla(28, 100%, 44%, 0.18). The site in question: https://www.joannethedoglady.com Thanks for any and all help, hopefully I'll be asking less questions in the future and answering more!
  24. I'd like to create a bouncing down arrow like the one on this website: https://www.cookmellow.com/ It would be within the index pages of Brine / Marta template -- so that people know to scroll down (particularly on homepage)... Thanks a lot
